My 2 cents -
I have LMS on a pi3b+ in a remote area with frequent power failures
(tall trees + high winds), maybe 12 per year.
I have a 2TB HDD attached for my library. At first, I chose to move
cache and prefs to the HDD when I was building the pcp (I followed the
instructions). I experienced

I read through the thread and I have a slightly different understanding

Hi David;
I agree with Ronnie, make sure you are on ethernet, at least to setup.

David, one thing I need to clarify that I realize I didn't, rereading my
post. Just grab any thumb drive and throw 5-20 songs on it. Just as a

Then you will know. Once you can scan 1 or more, you know you can scan

as @Ronnie, and @Paul- were suggesting...
sometimes a picture helps. Here's mine. You can see the mount point
created in picore /mnt/MoyerLMSMusic, then from there, to point LMS to
the audio files, I browse to the subfolder /Media/Music. In my case I
have subfolders for FLAC, MP3, etc.

In that case, does AutoRescan plugin still work?

To give you a little bit of guidance to what Jim suggested:

You could use the PS as is, and add a linear regulator (LM317) circuit
to the tail end of your 9V supply to create the 5v source. Something
like this:

but there are others.

Hi Greg;
Yes, the USB HDD is self powered via USB, no additional adapter.

to be disassembled (i.e. lazy).

Maybe the timezone field isn't causing my issue, I guess I just assumed
it was because "time" was lost (touch screensaver) and incorrect (Boom

I hesitate to even mention this issue, but it is unique, I thought I

I am running LMS on PcP 6 at home, but at my current location, I am
running 4.1. If the answer is to install 6 and "then try it" that's
fine. I hesitate because it's a bit of work to get at the server and sd
