Well it's pressed in Greece, but it's distributed locally (in Canada), so I
can't imagine it being too hard to get. I was waiting for the new Tresor CD
to come out before ordering it, so that I could use one to push the sales of
the other. The distro's description says it's more in a house vein than his
other releases are, and that some tracks are vocal. I have no idea who sings
on it, though. It'll be a surprise. :)

 John

P.S. Tristan, I suddenly remember a release by Savvas on Kurbel that I
have,
the title has some sexual reference in it. Have to dig it up.

Well, there's also Sound Track's The Cooler CD out on Caipirinha, and
 the
Allou CD on V2 Greece. I've only heard the former, it's ace! One of my

 hit

RE: [313] online mix track id

2001-05-04 Thread sqrrt
That's Music by One Way.

Strangely enough, that track isn't on many compilations. I did find one
listed that has it, but don't get scared by the title... It's called BEST
DISCO ALBUM IN THE UNIVERSE, VOL. 2. It's on Essex records and was
published in 1997. Should be pretty easy to find. Track listing goes as
such:

1. Trammps - Disco Inferno
2. Ashford Simpson - Found a Cure
3. Evelyn King - I'm in Love
4. Jean Carn - Was That All It Was
5. B.T. Express - Express
6. One Way - Music
7. Sister Sledge - He's the Greatest Dancer
8. Sylvester - You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)
9. O'Jays - Message in Our Music
10. Teddy Pendergrass - More I Get, the More I Want
11. Chic - I Want Your Love
12. Chaka Khan - I'm Every Woman

Pretty good track listing, if you ask me. Nothing bad. Just a little
electic, different periods, different styles... But nonetheless it seems
like a good purchase. I don't know if the songs are all in their 12 glory
(although most of these don't have 12 remixes, just 12s with the album
version on it), but with 12 songs, they should be there without too many
edits.

The original One Way album with that track on it isn't available on CD yet,
and it's not on any of their greatest hits package that I know of. Shame.

Hope this helps.

some new D-related releases to look out for...

2001-05-04 Thread Tom Robbins
...and some you just may be interested to know about:

*Airfrog: Bon Voyage Remixes (RS)
- remixes by Swag and Stacey Pullen, both very good, I reckon.

*Erotek: Now Playing - In Detroit (Afrosyntrix)
- first release on Moods Grooves electro sub-label, four booty cuts, more
of a DJ tool.

*Bam Bam: Where's Your Child (Tresor Archiv)
- new DJ Rush remix, actually more like a cover as he seems to have redone
the vocals himself. Still prefer the original.

*Sted Sly: Journey (Metamorphic)
- tasty deep house/techno crossover gear.

*Frankie Bones: Metropolitan EP (Missile)
- Bones goes electro.

*Jori Hulkkonen: Let Me Luv You (F Communications)
- nice house with mixes by Muzique Tropique, Nigel Hayes and Demon. Yum.

*Felix Da Housecat: Silver Screen (Shower Scene) (City Rockers)
- vocal techno from Felix and Miss Kittin in the 'Kernkraft 400' vein. Good
stuff, remix from Laurent Garnier to come. Pete's Tong's essential new tune
on R1, apparently, which is a massive coincidence seeing as how City Rockers
is a new subdivision of Ffrr, of which old Pete is director. But I'm sure
that had *nothing* to do with it... :-)

*Eon: Absorbed/GM Sukka (Longhaul)
- E-E-Eon in electro mode.

Derrick May @ Ocean, Hackney - Tomorrow/Various Records...

2001-05-04 Thread Jonny McIntosh
Just nipped out and went shopping. I got given tickets, whilst on the
rounds, to see Derrick May tomorrow night at Ocean on Mare St., Hackney.
Also featuring Aril Brikha. Nice to be able to walk home from a club if I
want :) Any other 313ers planning on going? It claims it's free before 1am,
though I'm not sure if that's just with a ticket. I got mine in Sister Ray
if you want to give it a go.

I also picked up the following records...

J.A.N. (KDJ 030) - Wicked, wicked deeper than thou house music. One sided
affair that uses the same overlaid spoken word trick as Amerika, deep vocal
snippets, a sneaky wee bassline and gorgeous electric piano towards the end.
Loverly.

Sirius Is A Friend (Tresor Archiv 1 EP) - Is this a new series of tracks
from the vaults? Model 500's excellent Light Speed (btw, Deep Space
remains one of only 4 or 5 truly great techno albums for me) redone with a
tremendous new bassline is the stand out for me but the EP also features
Daniel Bell's Acid Phreak and Christian Vogel's Ninjah.

and on the non 313 tip...

Junior Byles Beat Down Babylon - The Upsetter Years (Trojan) - Soulful as
you like with Lee Perry at the controls. Check out Fun and Games.
Production like that should not work, it makes There's A Riot Going On
sound like a crystal waterfall. Genius.

King Tubby Dub Gone Crazy 2 (Simply Vinyl) - You simply cannot fail with
these Simply slightly too expensive reissues. I got this for The Poor
Barber so as to compete with my neighbour's DIY at 4am in the morning (I
jest not). Let the Tubster gun him down!!

I do agree with one thing you said, how the heck
 could a Moby even be

 one issue.

Who the hell said that money helps, hunh, who said
 it? Unbelievable!
Dont any of you know that we been doing this sh*t
 for years without
money! If we compiled all the brothas together that
 are engineers, general
technicians, lighting technicians, a builder to
 build the stages(who takes scraps
from the lumber yard), rented some microphones and
 other digital
equipment, planners and organizers, cats in
production, promotions etc..., coupled with all the
other trimmings I'd imagine that it could be pulled
off. But who has the courage to try it?

 Point:

U dont need, necessarily, corporate sponsors for
this type of thing. These brothas
and others around the country and globe have been
doing this stuff for years...with just
what they have, and no one is mad on this side about
 it. Basically, we'd hope
U'd get the message to keep churging ahead with what

 even bigger and better without
the corporations cash and still retain its
 integrity.

 QUESTION:

Do any of you believe in coming together, and that
 something positive, organized,
and constructive can result from such a unity?
DONT ANSWER, its rhetorical. I would guess that if
you did believe it, then your
post, as well as your treatment of people outside
 the world of 313 would
 reflect such a belief.

Nick W, keep up the good work!

Thanks for that... In response to Laura's post
yesterday (tho it's sort of relevant to this also)...

I went home and had a big long think about Laura's
post... The truth is that this was bound to happen
eventually. What can we do about it? Do we boycott
Derrick May because he sold out supposedly?

Miss G, I wonder if Ritual had offered you a three
year contract instead of Ms. Marvin would you take it?
As Omar says above, a lot of artists live on a
shoestring, very few are millionaries. It's the
promoters that are making the big bucks... If you're
offered the chance to make a bit more money, you'd
take it... Wanting to make money isn't a bad thing...
It's greed that's bad...

What Ford and SFX are doing is greedy and potentially
destructive but, as John O and Tristan pointed out,
the underground will never die... not whilst there are
people that truly love music...

What it boils down to is that, even if detroit techno
becomes popular or even mainstream, it will split the
scene between those that are in it for the money and
the hardcore... the REAL detroit heads...

The scene may need to evolve but I think we also need
to decide which side of the fence we're on now. Just
the people on this list can change the course of the
scene. Most of all, realise that there is nothing to
worry about... We can take care of the scene as long
as we do what we've always done, remain true to what
you believe in...

2001-05-04 Thread Phonopsia
Sorry for the inconsequential post, but I'm so happy to wake up with a 313
folder that's upwards of 50% new music discussion. Keep it coming! You're
making me jealous as all hell - which is a good thing. :)

On a related note (via my lack of $ to buy records) - I got to hear a rough
cut of the upcoming Bjork album Vespertine, and it's absolutely fantastic!
Mark Bell is all over this one, I hear Herbert was involved, but not sure
where, and the melodies remind me of Autechre's most beautiful moments with
less in-your-face beats. I can't wait to hear the finished version on vinyl.

Re: [313] mayday festival

2001-05-04 Thread Tom Robbins
Yeah, I was going to post this - just read it. The whole article is full of
innaccuracies, just one of which was describing Paul van Dyk as techno's
biggest star. But the bit about Banks takes the biscuit - as if! He could
probably sue if he wanted to...

Shame that the Guardian, easily the best national newspaper in the UK,
should print such a load of toss.

TOM

PS: don't worry, John, we won't hold being Belgian against you... it's not
your fault... :-)

Another extract that made my frown:

Last year, Sony Records Germany made the mistake of trying to get round
this by releasing a note-for-note cover version of the UR track Jaguar by
DJ
Rolando. Banks heard about it, caught the first plane to Germany, armed
himself, sought out the man proposing the release and told him that he
would
kill him and everyone else involved if the version went ahead. Mills, who
did a remix of Jaguar, is not talking to the press.

Plane to Germany, armed himself, kill the man and everyone else
 involved?

Ermmm, who has this guy been talking to? I still have to read the article
thoroughly, but I've found so much bullshit for now that I'm taking a
break
 from it.

 John

Yet another one: We have come from Antwerp to be here, and we can't stop
now, a very young man with a flat-top haircut tells me. Also, I have
just
 taken another pill.

 Grrr, ashamed to be Belgian!

Article from today The Guardian...I think they need to replace the word
techno with trance a number of times.

But looking at this crowd, Underground Resistance's manifesto
seems a world away. The Detroit pioneers wished to create a
faceless music where the machine, not the person, was the
star. At 3am the crowd greeted Sven Vath with a roar.

I think the above quote for me was all that was needed to be said, the

Re: [313] Catching Up on Some... new D-related releases to look out for...

2001-05-04 Thread Tom Robbins
  *Airfrog: Bon Voyage Remixes (RS)
  - remixes by Swag and Stacey Pullen, both very good, I reckon.

If I'm not mistaken, I heard this on Saturday. Not sure which mix, but it
was tight. The label looked like an RS classics label to me.

.No, just a regular 12. The original came out on Svek last
year, RS put it out in February with an Adam Beyer mix and are now putting
out these remixes.

*Jori Hulkkonen: Let Me Luv You (F Communications)
  - nice house with mixes by Muzique Tropique, Nigel Hayes and Demon. Yum.

What has Muzique Tropique been up to lately? That's a name I don't see
very often anymore.

Kevin McKay is still pushing on full steam ahead with
Glasgow Underground Records, releasing loads of stuff: Romanthony, Neon
Heights etc etc.

  *Eon: Absorbed/GM Sukka (Longhaul)
  - E-E-Eon in electro mode.

Is this *the* Eon, that had a release back in 92-93 with a Juan Atkins
remix? What have they been doing the last 8 or 9 years?

.Hmm, dunno about an Atkins mix, but I've only ever come
across one Eon. It's one guy, Ian B (geddit?), best known for 'Spice' on
Vinyl Solution way back when which sampled from 'Dune': He who controls the
spice controls the universe!! Since then he's been releasing bits through
Mark Broom and J Saul Kane's respective labels.

.Oh, I'm just a mine of information, me.

new records

2001-05-04 Thread T . J . Johnson
Hey I got some new records!!!

Groovetech sent me a warped Stewart Walker 12 though. It's a great piece but
when I back spin it to hard the needed takes a bounding leap.

I got a sweet Punisher 12 on Seismic and that shxt is swt.

DJ Bone's Shut the Lights OFF goes of. It is a great mix with Daniel Bell's
Work that Shxt.

Also I got some great stuff by Tim Xavier as well as Deetron... I forget the
name of my Deetron one (work sux!!!), but it's the smaller blue vinyl with an
Ape-head sillhouette on it. Great chirpy track...

Also I go some great tribal techno from Adam X on Sonic Groove. Very nice...
Also I got an interesting white label from Organ Grinda. There's only one
track but it is really good. It has some great evangelistic vocals on it.
Very Political sounding in a way. Not the words themselves, but the way it
is presented gives me that feel...

Well, just thought I'd share my joy =)

Peace!

The Sound of Science

2001-05-04 Thread Gwendal Cobert
I've recently acquired a marvelous CD : The sound of Science compiled by
Kirk Degiorgio and Ian O'Brien. It is a great selection of relatively
obscure jazz / early funk / early disco tracks, plus a couple by the two
producers - and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who doesn't know much
about jazz and is interested to see how music evolved from jazz to techno...
A couple of questions though :
- it has been released on a label named Obsessive (cat # EVSCD004) - what
else is there on this label ? are they worth hunting ?
- Mr Degiorgio appears twice, once under his Elegy guise, with a track named
Kaleidoscope, and once under his Super-a-loof guise, with a track named
Patience - could anyone telle me whether these are unreleased elsewhere,
or where they come from ?
Thanks in advance !

I also take this as an opportunity to recommend Mr Degiorgio's website,
http://www.kirkdegiorgio.com (someone else on this list pointed me there in
the first place) - he has put up some great pages about his favorite records
etc - I wish more producers, DJs and musicians would do the same...

calling producers and journalists - mp313.com announcement

2001-05-04 Thread Phonopsia
I’m proud to announce the creation of a new online music
community in support of the 313TechKnow and
313@hyperreal.org mailing lists. Many of you may have
checked the material on my old mp3.com station. Due to some
policy changes at mp3.com and a desire for greater control
over the online distribution of our music, a group of
approximately twenty-five 313ers have banded together to
create our own site, http://mp313.com

The site is still under construction. If you are interested
in joining this community you must be actively subscribed
to 313 or 313TechKnow. There will be a monthly fee not in
excess of $15 associated with paying for a server
connection, web space, and periodic administrative
expenses. We are exploring sponsorships and the possibility
of establishing ourselves as a non-profit organization. We
hope to launch by DEMF.

The core members who have been working on this project for
the last month and a half have already determined the
structure of the site, some basic rules regarding content
moderation, etc. We have designed art for the site and are
in the process of building as I type. We have reached the
stage where we need to know if any other producers on the
313 list are interested in contributing their music and
what monthly contributions we can count on from them.
mp313.com will not house DJ mixes.

Those of you who listened to the material on the old
mp3.com station know that quality is a pre-requisite for
us. We will be moderating content from new members until we
are assured that there will be no pollution. We will be
accepting music of any style that is discussed on this
list, as long as the 313 relevance is evident in some way.
We’re not going to be tyrannical about it – we just want to
retain a focus.

If you are interested in joining this community, please
contact me off-list, and I will forward subscription
information to you (might not get to your message until
tomorrow though).

If you are a journalist interested in reviewing material on
the site, we will be hosting reviews as well. I think the
support of the journalists on 313 would be a wonderful
helping hand as we launch – and I think we’re a worthy
cause. We’re free, we’re underground, and we’re all about
Detroit.

Thanks for the bandwidth,

...and another one. What is the original track that is sampled on Killabite
2? Derrick May and co used to play it a lot, y'know, the female chorus
singing bop, bop, bar, bebop doop doop. If you can make any clarity out of
this and know what I am talking about then any chance of letting me know
what it is?
..This is a Todd Terry Project record...what were going to do right here
is go back
From the full length record to the batmobile let's go . have the song
on the full length. Most of Ben Simms/ Theory/Killabyte samples come off of
this release, even the Basement Jaxx sample this record. And Todd sampled
Kraftwerk on it so it all comes full circle. A very excellant old
production. The sound quality is not great but it is worthwhile anyway. I
think the actual sample is from bango or weekend but I don't have the record
in front of me at the moment. You might find this still in print on Todd
Terry's greatest hits on Warlock. Good Luck

involved with the art direction of the festival thats gos a little to far...

Some would argue that even the banner itself is a compromise to whatever art
you're trying to construct. What price, integrity...?

It's the very existence of these sponsored events that permitted the
near-astronomical fees commanded by even the lowest HP-DJ quality performers.
Following that, it's those same fees that prohibit even some of the best events
from getting off the ground without that same sponsorship. A vicious circle
and a corporate teat that once a scene gets the taste of, it can't easily wean
itself off.

It's unfortunate that in our naive desires to make everything bigger, badder
and bolder at every opportunity, we widen whatever distance there is between us
and the things that made use do it in the first place. What fills this void is
usually nothing more than money and bullshit.

Re: [313] mayday festival

2001-05-04 Thread M Elliot-Knight

RE:

I have come to the Mayday Parade to find out what makes techno tick. But
first, a confession. My principal experience of this music was a visit in
1990 to the London club Heaven on techno night. I spent six hours there
chewing my cheeks and clinging to a pillar for fear that the world would
collapse should I let go, and the brutal, never-ending beats and undulating
waves of electronic pulses merely confused me. So the idea of spending a
night in the company of 22,000 German ravers with spiky green hair was not a
pleasant one. This would be an exercise in confronting my demons and making
sense of this thing.

They obviously sent the wrong person.

These DJs include Jeff Mills, who, as one of the members of uncompromising
Detroit covert operation Underground Resistance, shares the techno tradition
of being deeply suspicious of celebrity. He makes music that is spartan,
cerebral and detested by the average happy-house fan. There's DJ Hell,
famous for creating an ear-bleeding, stomach-pounding noise; and Mayday
co-founder Westbam, who records an anthem for the festival each year, makes
dark, simple electro trance that crescendos and sends German kids into a
frenzy. There's the notorious Sven Vath, with his precision goatee and high
profile, whose grandiose electronic pomposities make him techno's answer to
Rick Wakeman.

Did this guy stop his research in 1995? He's waaay behind the current sounds
of these artists and Jeff Mills hasn't been a part of UR for how long now??

Last year, Sony Records Germany made the mistake of trying to get round
this by releasing a note-for-note cover version of the UR track Jaguar by DJ
Rolando. Banks heard about it, caught the first plane to Germany, armed
himself, sought out the man proposing the release and told him that he would
kill him and everyone else involved if the version went ahead...

What?! Does anyone know if this is the way it went down? If this is
unsubstantiated then I would presume that UR can bring some legal action
against the Gaurdian for printing such a statement.

Hack job. Bad. Very very bad.

WORLD LARGEST TECHNO FESTIVAL - really!?!?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/friday_review/story/0,3605,482416,00.html

Article from today The Guardian...I think they need to replace the word
techno with trance a number of times.

But looking at this crowd, Underground Resistance's manifesto
seems a world away. The Detroit pioneers wished to create a
faceless music where the machine, not the person, was the
star. At 3am the crowd greeted Sven Vath with a roar.

I think the above quote for me was all that was needed to be said, the
rest?

pure jibberish and misinformation imho. Any thoughts..

Am I getting just too cynical in my old age?

I think it's really important that people not
actually reject him, but stay informed of him and what
the people in charge are doing. I think Washington is
counting on certain portions of the younger audience

RE: [313] more political crap from me (OT)

2001-05-04 Thread Mike Taylor
yeah, corporate america has displayed such good citizenship; lets get rid of
all those nasty laws the provide minimum wages, workers rights, food
inspection, FDA medicine testing, environmental protections, consumer safety
laws...

ya know, things were so much better for the average person in the 19th
century. Lets forget about how regulation has helped the average consumer in
the 20th century. It isn't a big deal, I know we can rely on corporate
altruism. It worked so well in the 1800's.

I do not mean to sound like a whiney middle class anti-corporate college
student, but c'mon! Read Howard Zinn's A People's History of The United
States of America, and then tell me that the liberatarian party is going to
make the US a better place to live.

I think their approach to personal freedom and social responsiblity is good,
but a complete laissez faire approach to government is unrealistic as best,
and frankly dangerous at worst. All the things that dubya is doing right now
that are scary would happen under the libratarians as well. The WTO is
scary, do you want to open the door even wider for organizations like that?

I voted for John Brown in 96, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out
what I was thinking.

Take care,
Mike

I think it's really important that people not
actually reject him, but stay informed of him and what
the people in charge are doing. I think Washington is
counting on certain portions of the younger audience
to not stay informed, read the news and be involved
due to who is in office b/c they don't relate. I don't
chase the news, but simply reading MSN or Yahoo
headlines (both postings I got from one or the other)
is important-no matter which political way you go.On
the brighter side, perhaps by stealthly watching Bush
we'll learn what it is exactly we want in office next

more political crap...

2001-05-04 Thread lauryn goller
what bush has done so far that really makes me angry:

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/20010503/wl/un_brazil_aids_1.html

that's not including the story diane forwarded.

he's basically racked up a lot of policies that aren't very well thought out
(the fossil fuels energy plan...hello...we only have SO MUCH coal...just like
we only have so much oil...) or they are just right-wing policies in disguise
(like the violence to fetus bill and the rehash of the war on drugs)or they
just plain prove that bush is more concerned with money than human rights (with
the fight with brazil about aids drugs)...

pretty ambitious work (and pretty sneaky and underpublicized too i might add)
for only being in office going on 5 months...

Bush and That Frankie Knuckles ID

2001-05-04 Thread Phonopsia
Can we kill this Bush discussion now? I know it's Friday,
but... I think most of us are in agreement that Bush sucks,
and those that don't agree are probably wise enough not to
speak their mind on that topic here.

That track on the 1987 Frankie Knuckles mix is pretty
slick, but I have no idea what it is.

RE: [313] more political crap from me (OT)

2001-05-04 Thread K Hawkins

First, let me apologize in advance for nudging 313 further off-topic--

--but: While the Libertarian position on individual rights is an admirable
one, the other side of the party's position is a flat lack of concern with
societal responsibility, or at least an apparently naive faith in human
decency and the all-solving power of free market capitalism.

Definitely, check out the libertarian party, but carefully consider whether
its emphasis on individual rights really needs to be tied to repealing
environmental and workplace regulations, dumping (rather than fixing) social
security in favor of binding your retirement funds to the caprices of the
stock market, abruptly ending all forms of public assistance, dumping the
idea of a public education. Economically, how is this an alternative to the
two major parties?

Frankly, part of the party's appeal is that it suggests that the more
comfortable members of our society should be left alone to do what they
want, without worrying about what happens to anyone else. I'm not suggesting
that this is Ani or Holly's motivation in an interest in the party--from
their previous posts, it certainly doesn't seem to be--or that libertarians
in general are selfish or unconcerned with the fate of others. But, if only
in the spirit of May Day, I felt obliged to note that the libertarian party
does have a right-wing economic bent.

On the 313 front: Picked up the new Mike Grant on Moods and Grooves. The
original and the Mr. G mix are great. Way to use a Maya Angelou sample.
And Rob Hood's Apartment is mighty nice, too.

313?

2001-05-04 Thread Samuel Hobbs
i am just wondering if this is a detroit techno
list or a list in which members can air bitches about
george, bush, ford, evil corporate entities, etc,
etc., etc. if i wanted to hear about this crap as
opposed to what new album is hot or what talented dj
or live pa is coming to town then i would have signed
up on some anti-corporation, anti-republican,
anti-everything list. ***PLEASE GET THE FUCK BACK ON
TOPIC***
now i know that someone will argue that this stuff
is somehow relevant to 313 but i don't give a shit.
it's an irrevalent argument.
so to help the list enter a new and exciting era of
on-topic discussion, i will ask the question what is
your favorite mixtape or live dj set on cd and why?

I totally love this Derrick May live in Belgium mix I pulled offa Napster.
Also the Rolando mix CD. As for not-really-313 mix CD's:

A Basement Jaxx Radio 1 mix I have from '99 is hot, and a drum n' bass
mix that DJ Empress (NYC) hit me off with last week rocks-- relentless and
beautifully mixed.

it's an irrevalent argument.
so to help the list enter a new and exciting era of

your favorite mixtape or live dj set on cd and why?

Wow that is a bitter pill your takin there pal! lol

I don't know that I have a fav, but Tim Xavier's mix live @ Karma is pretty
damn sweet. I like its machine-like feel. It makes me think of destructive
robots with wires hanging out and only half working making crazy ass sounds

Also, Joel Mull's live @ Karma mix is pretty seet too. The vocals in the
middle sounded kind of weak at first, but after a listen they kind of enhance
the mix and take it into a new realm of sort.

more political crap...

2001-05-04 Thread kenneth taylor
Being Canadian, I feel somewhat removed or exhonerated from any duty to
fight back against the US government, but this voice of dissent on a techno
list can only echo so far. I'm totally with you in your fight but if you
really feel it, it's got to stretch further than 313. Everyone's in the
same boat so now's the time to start petitions, email your local
politicians, become part of Public Interest Research Groups, or take some
type of action.

The microsound community is employing their art for political purposes and
is planning a noise demonstration on the White House lawn (a la Black Flag/
Minor Threat - punk for those who aren't familiar). In fact, a number of
noise artists staged a similar concert two weeks ago in Quebec city during
the FTAA Summit of the Americas.

Like I say, being in Canada makes me an armchair activist of sorts in this
regard but it seems so unAmerican to see America so passive during this
entire electoral debacle...

Remember one thing and one thing only with regard to this whole
topic.the United States Government is THE BIGGEST CORPORATION in the

during any Republican regime ;( simply fall into place...in other
words...their behavior makes perfect sense under that premise.

I rather favor the Green Party misself. Used to be the Transcendental

yeah, corporate america has displayed such good citizenship; lets get rid
of

all those nasty laws the provide minimum wages, workers rights, food
inspection, FDA medicine testing, environmental protections, consumer
safety

laws...

ya know, things were so much better for the average person in the 19th
century. Lets forget about how regulation has helped the average consumer
in

the 20th century. It isn't a big deal, I know we can rely on corporate
altruism. It worked so well in the 1800's.

I do not mean to sound like a whiney middle class anti-corporate college
student, but c'mon! Read Howard Zinn's A People's History of The United
States of America, and then tell me that the liberatarian party is going
to

make the US a better place to live.

I think their approach to personal freedom and social responsiblity is
good,

but a complete laissez faire approach to government is unrealistic as best,
and frankly dangerous at worst. All the things that dubya is doing right
now

that are scary would happen under the libratarians as well. The WTO is
scary, do you want to open the door even wider for organizations like that?

I hated Bush Sr., and the guy was an evil, meniacal, lying piece of shit.
But
I gotta say, at least he had SOME kind of intelligence. Bush Jr. is so
insanely STUPID, it's mindblowing! That's the REALLY scary thing about
this guy! It's like he never truely got past fruit loops and Capt.
Kangaroo!
And his finger (that was just up his nose) is on the fuckin' BUTTON! He's
talking to the Chinese like they're a bunch of lightweight idiots. God,
that is
so fuckin' stupid and un-diplomatic! I personally think that they, and
their
potential allies, could stand pretty strong against the US if the shit
really
hit the fan. How come Clinton didn't have any significant problems with
them for eight years? And he's so ugly, man! I heard some supermodel
on Politically Correct during the campaign being like, weell, Bush really
has the charm and good looks that Gore doesn't have. What!!??!!!

I'm no big patriot, believe me. But the guy was a fuckin' draft dodger,
pussy
piece of shit, and he's got the nerve to act like Mr. Gung Ho military
man.
 Fuckin' hypocrite.

Oh, and not to mention he stole the national election The media so
conveniently glossed over the hugely controversial election issue, just
weeks after all that shit went down. Anyone else notice that?

Bush is trying to hard to be like daddy.
