Re: cabletron
Well, I am not spreading rumour http://www.securiteam.com/securitynews/Smurf_attack_exhausts_Cabletron_Enter asys__SSR_CPU.html I am the one who reported this to CERT and Securiteam.com. During May last year, we experienced smurf (just smurf with TTL=0) and this exhausted all of our SSR CPU time... So you can see the consequence. After the event, we replaced *ALL* the SSRs with Foundrys. Cabletron Systems knows this (see this http://www.enterasys.com/support/techbltn/tb1057-9.html). They can't solve the problem 7 months after the event. The release note is not telling the whole story. When I was on the venue, I can't telnet, all OSPF routes were dropped, 100% CPU utilization, and no packet can get thru'. NO ACL can solve this problem, no rate-shaping command effective All the packet travels to L3 and then dropped by kernel and trigger 100% CPU usage it is a nightmare (and I am still so scared..) So, DO NOT USE CABLETRON. This is what I can tell. Re: AS numbers - Is there a global crisis?
I could not give you exact information, when I have looked at peering policies in the past it normally depends on the type of address space involved. If the addresses came from what was typically a Class C space they may not require a large aggregation of IP addresses. It is pretty much standard that coming from what was typical Class A space that anything smaller than a /19 would not be advertised or accepted. I know of a broadband cable ISP that ran into this aggregation problem with Verio. None of their users could reach anything within Verio's network (Or AT&T for that matter) The following link has an example of Verio's peering policy, which I am assuming is pretty standard as peering policies go. http://info.us.bb.verio.net/routing.html#PeerFilter -- Kevin. Group, Well I don't really particularly like Pradeep's comment's, but I just deleted the message. I wouldn't have ever had to think about it again. The problem I have is that I like to hear from everyone, and I know egotistical people make others think twice before writing in, thinking Pradeep will make them feel stupid for asking an "easy" question. I also realize some of the people who I might want to hear from may be more sensitive to malicious retort than I, and that really sucks if it makes them reluctant to write in. So do us a favor please Pradeep and hold off on the hostile comments, and help us with your awesome knowledge by answering these questions we can't figure out. Frame Relay lab open
I probably shouldn't do this due to someone hosing Chuck lab, but I'll risk it. If you want access, you need to email my hotmail account for a username and password. You must use a non-anonymous account (no hotmail, yahoo, msn, aol, or any other place that you can get an account in 30 seconds). In other words, I want an account I can track down in case you turn out to be an evil SOB who wants to wreck it for others. I don't share private email addresses, it just goes into a text file on my hard drive in case I need to track someone down. Email once with "Router Access" in the subject, and I'll create an account when I have time. Email twice and I'll block you address and delete the emails. Also know that I syslog all access into my external router as well as the authentication info. Ok, sorry to be so harsh, but I just needed to get that all out there. Now for the good stuff: Currently, I've got a frame relay lab up with a 3640 as the frame relay switch (inaccessible), a 2501 as the host/central site, and two 2502s as the remote sites and also connected via a TR concentrator. http://r2cisco.artoo.net/routers.html -- Jason Roysdon, CCNP+Security/CCDP, MCSE, CNA, Network+, A+ List email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Homepage: http://jason.artoo.net/ Cisco resources: http://r2cisco.artoo.net/ _ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: Remote Telnet access via dial-up
I still think it's funny how much folks have hyper-spazed on this thread. I think I've said it at least twice that only one telnet session is allowed into the MS Telnet Server. Further, I can see the IP that does connect, plus I'm talking to the Cisco engineer the whole time, and lastly, as soon as Cisco was done I disabled the account on my laptop. The routers weren't online in any other fashion. End of access remotely, end of story. Don't feel too secure with ssh either. How would Cisco get my public key securely? If I sent it to them, it'd be vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack. Unless you physically copy your public key to your box from your access server, someone could have snatched it on the wire and tossed you another, which they could easily talk to your spoofed ssh client with, and then relay the commands to the real ssh server with the public key it intercepted, and you'd never know it. I've got CDPD in my car. Slower than mud, especially for telnet. It's fine if I just need to pop in and check status on a router. The best method seems to be to ssh into my Linux box which I run screen on (allowed for multiple bash sessions to be kept active, even when I disconnect). I often have a few dozen screens open to customer sites and can easily pop on remotely even with CDPD's slowness to get status on something or make a minor change. The speed is only 14.4K, but it's really the latency that's horrid. 700-2000ms delay is pretty normal, if not more. It is nice for getting traffic status while on the road, but the following page takes 3-5 minutes to load (watch the wrap): http://www.mapquest.com/cgi-bin/traffic?from=index&event=overview&link=btwn/ twn-traffic_overview&traffic_city=sfo:gcd:San+Francisco:CA:377750:-1224183&u id=u18ah4oao6gcscze:bl14a0uwt Outlook Webaccess can take 10 minutes to load. Re: AS numbers - Is there a global crisis?
I've heard that most ISPs will filter less than /19. If this is true, then only the ISP who owns the aggregate route will get heard by most other ISPs. Can anyone confirm at which point most ISPs filter? I know at a minimum most won't accept more specific than /24. I finally got some evil internal routing & vpn issues taken care of, and should be finally implementing BGP with Sprint & UUNET (geeze, it's been forever dealing with these internal issues). If nothing else, I'll ask their BGP folks what they filter at. I can also confirm that about double the ASN's in use (9731) have been handed out. We were given ASN 18506 in September. -- Jason Roysdon, CCNP+Security/CCDP, MCSE, CNA, Network+, A+ List email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Homepage: http://jason.artoo.net/ Cisco resources: http://r2cisco.artoo.net/ ""Howard C. I also found myself not studying as dilligently as I could have. In the end, I made it thru on 2 things. Personal experience and 2 days of cramming with the Cisco Press BCMSN Exam Certification Guide. I broke down & bought it as a last minute desparation move, as the Cisco Press BCMSN "course book" was putting me to sleep every day by chapter 2.. (Theory is soo boring!!). With only 2 days with the cert guide, I crammed the sample test & read the chapter Q&A quizzes over & over.. and on the topics I didn't fully understand, I read over as much of the chapter as I could to fill in the mental blanks. I do think I got a bit lucky, as there were a few area's I still feel weak in, but either got no questions on those area's, or barely 1 or 2. So, the concensus is that BCRAN is the easiest? Interesting. I thought todays test was easier than I expected, but still enough to cause a bead or 2 of sweat.. Personally, I know I'm horrible at things like Async configs.. but ISDN I find rather easy. If anyone is still around from the last time I haunted the list (Chuck.. Tony.. Ozzie.. Paul.. anyone... Buehler.. Buehler.. ) they'll probably remember why.. but that was in another life ;-) Interesting that everyone thinks CIT is the worst. Personally, I'm setting aside 3 weeks hard study time for BSCN Routing as the hardest. I'm on a tight personal goal schedule. 1 test every 2 weeks, but again, 3 for BSCN. So, tomorrow I schedule the CIT and hit the books. I suspect I have an advantage, in that most of my experience is raw troubleshooting. It's also mostly in routing, over switching, but the BSCN goes into a depth I haven't learned from experience yet. So, I'm planning heavy studies for that one. CIT I'm more secure about. Hopefully, it's not overconfidence.. If all goes well.. we (my test partner) should see CCNP accomplished by mid-March. As she likes to say "Failure is not an option" ;-) Then again.. one does not always need immediate gratification to achieve success. But.. drive on we must! Steve-H@ .. oh wait.. nevermind. Re: True Client Proximity Problem:
Dir. sir, we are a friendly group of professionals and students here and every so often someone comes along and disrupts the normal flow of information. Pradeep, you and I are disrupters, You with your self indulgence and me with my silly weekend jokes. When you say that you make CCIEs I have a tendency not to believe you because teaching takes abilities such as listening that aren't evident in your posts. Just like I'm no comic but love to pass on a good joke, you pass on an attitude. As to your questions. What is Content Routing? With a normal EDI message, there is a small amount of 'header' information, which contains details such as the sender's address, the recipient's address, the date and time of creation, the data type and some reference information. This data is used by the EDI systems at both ends of the link to route the data. The recipient will use it to determine which department the data is destined for, and which application should process it. Using this information, it will decide how to translate it. Because this information is often used for routing, these headers are sometimes called 'envelope' segments. In most cases, they are all that is needed to successfully route data from the sender to the recipient's application. Envelope segments carry the addressing information, and they encapsulate normal data segments, which carry the main body of the information. - question 2 the 3 sites? I do that with PERL scripts. I just tried it, and it's not a bad subnet calculator, but so far my preference is 3Com's 3CIPCalc. Steve-H@ .. oh wait.. nevermind. Re: AS5300 versions
Hi, First of all why is it "stopping". Is it possible that you have a number of modems in a pending state. Does your system hang up incorreclty (not hang up). I wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for hang ups, that, incidently never happen to other suppliers. We run many versions of IOS and for no reason some places seem to be better than others. I spend a lot of my time trying to work out why. We usually run version 2.6.2.0 of modem software. In another area we run 2.6.1.0. It seems there is not much difference. As I said earlier some places never seem to drop others do but some clients. Re: Reccomended resources for BGP.
Reviewing the list submissions for the past couple of months might give you the impression that this is a case where if you could only read one book on a topic, Halabi's would be it for BGP, regardless of the vendor sponsorship. I'm actually looking forward to the Doyle book, especially since he's now at Juniper (according to various book websites). Unfortunately, I'm at the same state you are, so I can't really add to the summary. AS5300 versions
Does anyone have an AS5300 that is running stable and connecting at decent speeds. I have an AS5300 that is used for an 800 number. I am getting many disconnects and lower than expected connection rates. The versions of code that I have loaded seem to correct or help the connection speed but after a few weeks the AS5300 stops answering and must be reset. I know that part of the problem may be the carrier and I am working on that also. Just want to know what version of IOS and Mica modem code seem to work the best. Cisco says they are all great. True Client Proximity Problem:
Garth, I agree with you.Everyone needs help.I also do , except those which do not violate the Cisco NDA. I believe in " SHARE WHAT YOU KNOW AND LEARN WHAT YOU DONT" There are at least 10- 12 members of this group who are a CCNA /CCNP coz of help from me. I am not a CCIE , I make CCIE's.Not boasting. If you want to bet , give me any 10 people in this group, just average people, and I will make them clear thier CCIE written in 2 months flat. One of them , I want is Jim, who started this string :-) Give me another 6 months and you will see me in this same group assuring CCIE lab too.If you ask me how I get that confidence --- man , I work my backside off in my home lab. I dont "do labs". I create labs. so Garth, time to do some complicated Content Routing ( not IP Routing) labs. One field where I am taking help from someone who keeps botting me but I keep going back to him. Now here is some home work for you. question 1: what is content Routing ? question 2: If you had 3 sites, site A, Site B, site C . How would you plan your network so that you get true Client Proximity, ie if all three sites are www.grou.com, then when the client browser does a get www.group.com, you want the Client request to go to that server which is closest to the client. -PG -Original Message- From:Gareth Hinton [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent:Sun, 21 Jan 2001 19:04:14 - To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Business Proposal for CCIE lab:kick him Pradeep (Protocol Guru), Apology or not, for those that have watched the group for a long time, they will recognise your blunt, unhelpful, ignorant replies. Re: Reccomended resources for BGP.
I would recommend two books on BGP: BGP4: Interdomain Routing in the Internet (whose author I can't remember at the moment) Internet Routing Architectures, 2nd Edition, by Basaam Halabi and some other fellow. Both are excellent books. The first is a bare-bones primer on BGP and doesn't go into a lot of configuration detail, while the second book covers the workings of the protocol very well while also detailing how to configure it on Cisco equipment. Re: On topic: Am I the only one that would like Pradeep Kumar to either shut up or go away?
To John Day: Thanks for your comments, hopefully they will find their mark with those whose contributions tend not to be positive. There are times when some on this list (myself included, and I'm still embarrassed about a thread from last summer ) have let threads get out of hand, devolving into unprofessional flame wars. We all, Pradeep included, should try to avoid those at all times. If we are--or strive to be--professionals, we should behave that way. To Pradeep: Perhaps you have a sense of humor that we have not figured out yet, but very often your posts seem to be confrontational and/or demeaning. Whether you really intend to come across this way or not, that is how we see you. So I would have to stand with John on this one and ask that everyone--including you--try to keep the postings on this list professional and constructive. Pradeep, Your immature, fantastically egotistical, and vicious comments are a frequent cause of discord on this list. You have been reprimanded several times. Take it to heart and change your behavior. Or go away. I remember several months ago when you were desperately searching for a job. Have you ever stopped to think about how many potential employers are getting an incredibly bad impression of you? This field is surprisingly small at the senior level. Re: Non-contiguous subnet masks
I have an awesome book for you! You must read Radia Perlman's Interconnections. This book not only digs into this issue, but relates IP to IPX, CNLP, DEC, and IPv6. I will first add we would not be able to call CIDR address listings in routing tables prefixes if non-contiguous masks were ever allowed in any vendors software. I was approached with this very question a little while ago I had just completed my Microsoft TCP/IP test and I thought I knew subnetting. A friend of mine asked why the masks had to be contiguous and I had a really dumb answer for him which was- that is just how it is. I will try to sum up what Radia goes over why this is so. If you think about this first and foremost non-contiguous subnet masks would make a confusing system even more confusing reading. In the beginning there wasn't anything keeping a vendor from implementing software that would allow non-contiguous subnet masks, but amazingly enough nobody was stupid enough. This would have made a not so efficient protocol even more inefficient. This would absolutely require the router to read the entire address before any routing decisions were made~ ouch. Then what is really neat is how Radia has homework at the end of the chapter to help bring to light how difficult it would be to determine if 2 addresses are in the same subnet. (the book is awesome). Luckily non-contiguous masks were never implemented and we can call them darn slash things (/28) prefixes, our routing tables are smaller, and our processors have less load (humans and routers). >>>Brian >From: "Tony van Ree" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: "Tony van Ree" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "J. Re: BRI to AS5300 / No Traffic Pls Respond URGENT
Hi, Just a thought but why not set up a dialer interface for your ISDN clients complete with dailer map statements. You might also need to do something like interface Serial2:15 no ip address encapsulation ppp dialer idle-timeout 1800 autodetect encapsulation ppp v120 isdn switch-type "your switch type" isdn incoming-voice modem no peer default ip address no fair-queue no cdp enable ppp authentication chap Just a thought Teunis, Hobart, Tasmania Australia On Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 11:41:05 AM, Aftab Rashid wrote: > > Hi > > I am using AS5300 with 4 PRIs for incoming dialup connection. Re: BRI interface not calling
Hi, Why use the BRI ports to do your configs. You might find that using a dialer interface for each area will work better. Also do you want all of the interfaces to come up at the same time? You only have one dialer list statement so this would stick em all into the same dialer group. You might therefore want to look at using different dialer groups and all that stuff. The Cisco Press BCRAN book has some good stuff on this. I have found through bitter experience that hard configuring the BRI ports has flies on it in terms of functionality and operability. Just some thoughts. Nigel, It has to be a classful network that's not connected to your router and it has to be in your igrp routing table. Please check the archives, there's a lot of information about it in there. Hi, Try tracing back to your authenticatioon server once you are into the remote router. If the access is ok then make sure the remote router knows where the authentication server is. eg. tacacs-server host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx It would seem you are getting the last choice to log in. Re: IGRP/EIGRP/OSPF redistribution cont'd....
All, In using the "ip default-network" command to try and have a default route passed into my IGRP routing domain to my OSPF domain. I don't see the command in the config for it, what I do get is this..a static route to an interface that doesn't exist. The command I issued was: ip default-network 172.17.59.0 and added this network under the IGRP process in question, what I get this in the config is.. ip route 172.17.0.0 255.255.0.0 172.17.59.0 The weird thing is I can't get it out even after using the "no ip default-network" command. The only way I've been able to get it out is by doing a "wr erase" and reloading the router. Has anyone experienced this beforePlease tell me what I'm doing wrong. Re: Non-contiguous subnet masks
Hi, I'm old and sometimes get confused. Why would one want to do something that is not really very standard even if they could. I once used to do a lot of troubleshooting for a group that never had time to standardise their network because it was "unique" and therefore required all their time to manage it. It was "unique" because it was not standardised. Don't most big failures occur because we do something others wouldn't? If so, why would you use no contiguous subnetmasks rather than blockout nicely what you need? Is there a substitute for good design? Re: Terminal serial to host cable
Hi, Did you use the "BLACK" Cisco cable? If so look at this. It has a roll over. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 become 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 say using pins 3 & 6 for TXD RXD, 4 & 5 sig gnd, 2 and 6 for RTS, CTS or what ever you have a cross over in the cable. Re: Strange Router CPU Utilisation
Hi, I had several goes at this on Saturday but my outgoing mail was failing. I have found this sort of thing can happen when you get a nasty liitle routing loop and of a "stuck in active". One way to find what is happening could be to do a "show proc cpu" note what processes are happening, wait a minute or so and do it again note what is happening, wait the same period of time and repeat the procedure. Then compare each to see if you can identify what prcess is doing the damage. This is made much easier if you baseline you cpu utilisation. That is, when things are going fie do as above for a comarison of when it is failing. If things are really bad you may need to do the above from the console. If so, check what is going through the console and note any messages fly through there. This may indeed be your problem. Once you know what is be sent to the console do a "no logging console" and check the cpu. With any luck the errors going to the console will be in the log. "show log". It often takes some time to find but the methods above might help. The hardest is the nasty little loop. (Which can be across Nations). Hope this helps, Teunis, Hobart, Tasmania Austalia On Friday, January 19, 2001 at 06:52:58 AM, Deloso. Re: cabletron
Hi, In my experience most of the top known companies are good. The dificulty with Cabletron is that almost each series has a different command structure. The ElS1000 is not remotely like a SmartSwitch 9000 which looks nothing like the SSR's. But once configured they work ok. What I don't like and a number of machines from various are guilty of it (or maybe I like about Cisco) is when you do a clear on the counters in a number of modles this only happens until you log out. So if you decide to clear the counters and come back later and you have left the machine even timed out your couters are back to what they were. This make trouble shooting a bit of a pain. Be wary of the autoneg as they can produce some horrible stuff. www.enterasys.com/support/manuals/ is a must for Cabletron stuff. Just some thoughts. Re: ospf study question
Charles Jeff Doyle's Routing TCP/IP is a great book. I would also look at Cisco's website and see how this is configured and see if you find anything showing configuration of OSPF in interface config mode. If you pay close attention to how OSPF is configured on the router you can understand that it is configured for particular networks (and in OSPF areas). So then you can figure the router doesn't care too much about which lower layer protocol is carrying IP as long as the routing info gets to everyone in the domains necessary. There are wierd acceptions to be aware of, but they are how this protocol instructs the SPF routers to communicate routing info in certain situations like in frame multipoint (because OSPF tries to use a Designated router in many cases to cut down on bandwidth overhead from update messages in a meshed network). Get crazy and try it out. >>>Brian >From: Charles Paver <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: Charles Paver <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: ospf study question >Date: Sun, 21 Jan 2001 12:40:09 -0800 (PST) > >Hi. Eric you should check out these books, too. These are my favorites: Radia Perlman's Interconnections- (helps you stop for a minute and tear into how things really work in a non-vendor specific view- read front to back read's really nice ) Andrew Tannenbaum- (kindof scary book, but is nice to have around as the real bottom line. Awfully dry kindof like reading a VCR manual, but nothing is left out) Jeff Doyle's Routing TCP/IP first edition- (for RIPv1&2, EIGRP, OSPF) Sam Halabi's BGP- (get crazy with BGP4, I haven't touched Jeff Doyle's new book, but you can be confident (I believe) if you learn what is in Halabi's book on BGP you have surely covered what will be required of you on the CCIE ) Caslow's CCIE second edition (wonderfull book for referrence at the practice lab) CCNP BCRAN Osbourne\McGraw Hill (for stuff like comression & frame relay traffic shaping) Exam Cram CCIE- (Good for the magazine rack in the bathroom) >>>Brian >From: Luis Ignacio Zas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: Luis Ignacio Zas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: RE: CCIE reading: TCP/IP by Doyle Vol.1 or 2 >Date: Sun, 21 Jan 2001 12:17:56 -0500 > >According with the Cisco Press website http://www.ciscopress.com , the >publish date would be February 2001. OT weekend funnie! Old Navy "Lore"
Subject: Brass Monkey Every sailing ship had to have cannons for protection. Cannons of the times required round iron cannonballs. The master wanted to store the cannonballs such that they could be of instant use when needed, yet not roll around the gun deck. The solution was to stack them up in a square-based pyramid next to the cannon. The top level of the stack had one ball, the next level down had four, the next had nine, the next had sixteen, and so on. Four levels would provide a stack of 30 cannonballs. The only real problem was how to keep the bottom level from sliding out from under the weight of the higher levels. To do this, they devised a small brass plate ("brass monkey") with one rounded indentation for each cannonball in the bottom layer. Brass was used because the cannonballs wouldn't rust to the "brass monkey," but would rust to an iron one. When temperature falls, brass contracts in size faster than iron. As it got cold on the gun decks, the indentations in the brass monkey would get smaller than the iron cannonballs they were holding. If the temperature got cold enough, the bottom layer would pop out of the indentations spilling the entire pyramid over the deck. Thus it was, quite literally, "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey." -- Natasha Flazynski http://www.ciscobot.com My Cisco information site. http://www.botbuilders.com Artificial Intelligence and Linux development A bus station is where a bus stops. Seem good to me. -Original Message- From: Chuck Larrieu [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 19, 2001 5:31 PM To: Steve Smith; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: CEF or round robin So what was the problem you found that was effecting traffic negatively? CEF does not necessarily "load share" equally across two paths. It can be set up to do "per source/destination" or "per packet" Per source/destination has the usual problems - all traffic can end up going across one link. Per packet will indeed share traffic more or less equally across two links. My reading indicates that CEF per packet is actually the way to go if one wants to balance traffic equally across two paths. We set up 2 point-to-point Ts to a client running CEF. Everything seemed to work fine, speed was good, packets per T was about equal. Then we had a switch go bad. We replaced it but still had a sluggish network. Some of our techs came in from another office and together we found the problem. While looking around they saw CEF per-packet was set on the 2 Ts. They informed our CEO that was really wrong and should not be ran that way. They said "round robin is the only real way to utilize 2 Ts". I say # *! Any opinions? Re: cabletron
Don't get me started. I just took over a network with Cabletron routers/switches, mainly 200s, 600s, 700s, and 2000s. Now, this is just my opinion, but they're better suited to be doorstops than routers/switches. They're a pain to configure and manage and they're not exceptionally fast or stable. I'm removing them from the network as fast as my budget will allow. In my opinion, Cisco products (well, with the possible exception of the Cisco 700 series routers), are far superior. Just my $0.02...your mileage may vary. Craig At 04:03 PM 1/21/2001 +, you wrote: >Can someone give me some feedback on Cabletron hubs/switches. Re: BRI interface not calling
Hans, What is your "debug" commands telling you. For ISDN I find this tool invaluable. I looked at the configs you provided and everything looks good from I can tell. Turn on "debug ids events" "debug ISDN q921(tells us what's happening on L2)" and "debug ISDN q931(for L3)" and only make attempts to ping to the connections you're troubleshooting(i.e ping the remote bri interfaces, 10.66.1.2/3/10/11) Capture it and maybe you'll get some answers. Post it to the group/and send it to me direct. HTH or at least gets you some answers... BRI interface not calling
Hello colleagues, I have a problem with two BRI interfaces on my Cisco 2610: On both interfaces, I have static dialer maps configured to two separate locations, so the total is 4 locations to be dialed, two on BRI1/0, and two on BRI1/1. Th problem is that two calls at a maximum are made, and the remaining two connections are not made. I can make one call on BRI1/0 and one on BRI1/1, or two on BRI1/0, or two on BRI1/1, but never four at the same time. I have verified that all locations are reachable, but it seems that only two ISDN calls are allowed at the same time. I am unable to figure it out; I have attached the router config, maybe you have an idea ? MTDP_Saarbruecken_29347#sh run Building configuration... Current configuration: ! ! Timed Access Lists
Has anyone ever used timed access lists? I'm wondering if I can specify multiple times and days and still process through the list or will I exit the list after a test condition is compared... This is getting hard to verbalize but I'll give it a shot... ie: I want to limit www browsing on one time schedule during the week and a different time schedule during the weekend. Setting up two time ranges is not a problem Now I need to write the access list deny tcp any any eq http time-range no-http-weekdays deny tcp any any eq http time-range no-http-weekends permit ip any any will this work or will http traffic exit the list after the first test condition?
