Safari V13.0 and 1Password V6.8.9

2019-09-23 Thread Philippe Chaperon
Dear WAMUG’rs,

I have received a not so pleasant advice from both Apple and 1Password with
regards to the latest update to Safari now in version 13.0.

As per usual, due to my trust in Apple, I went forward and updated Safari
immediately. I have an old iMac(mid 2010) running High Sierra v. 10.13.6 and
1Password v. 6.8.9. After the last update I discovered that 1Password icon had
disappeared from Safari’s Toolbar and Safari was asking to add Safari
Extension, presumably to have 1Password Mini to work.

The unfortunate surprise was that the only way for me to obtain that Safari
Extension is to update my copy of 1Password to version 7, the one available via
subscription only on the App Store. So beware before updating Safari and ensure
you have enough funds in your bank account to also fork out the necessary $$s
for 1Password v. 7.

I am now using Firefox to do all my banking, because fortunately 1Password Mini
is in this browser’s Tool Bar. This goes against my ‘belief system’ and modus
operandi in that I have for many long years given priority to Apple’s
softwares/applications. I do love Firefox though but for sentimental reasons.

So now I have to decide on whether to take a risk and stay with my 1Password v.
6.8.9, knowing that it is not going to be supported by the publisher or go to
the v.7 and fork out the dollars on a yearly basis. To 1Password credit, the
software works so well and is so convenient specially due to the ability to log
in to the myriads of web site I visit directly from the browser.

That’s my rant for the year! My sincere apologies for using our forum to vent
my frustration.

Have a great Spring day and take care,

Philippe Chaperon

I can’t think of anything that causes more confusion for users than passwords.
Most people I know are terrified of them, and the idea of introducing something
extra to learn simply adds to the terror. Even those who I have been able to
convince of the value of 1Password don’t take the time to learn how to use it
properly, so their confusion worsens.

At least turn on Keychain for iCloud for her. It will keep track of all her
passwords and she won’t even have to think about it. And it’s free.

1Password problem - not loading on startup

2018-08-02 Thread Philippe Chaperon

Dear WAMUG experts,

My trusty 1Password Version 6.8.9 (689000) would not open when I started my
iMac details below:

iMac 27-inch, Mid 2010
Processor 2.93 GHz Core i7
OS X Yosemite V10.10.5
RAM 20 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Hard Drive: 2 TB, Available: 784.59 GB

Is it possible that I do not have enough space on my Hard Drive, hence causing
this problem?

I am in the process of transferring my photos on a WD 6TB external drive and
will provide more memories, and also removing all the various applications I
have purchased throughout the years and are not useful to me anymore.

I did notice that sometimes Mail would launch but it is impossible to see the
messages and the application then freezes. Usually a force-quit and immediate
relaunch fixes the problem. Another case for ‘not enough memory space on the
main Hard Drive perhaps?

Many thanks for any advice.

Please drive carefully - unfortunately there are still mobile phone users
driving with their mobiles stuck to their ears and vehicles driving too close
behind, rain or no rain!

Best Regards,

Philippe Chaperon

1Password 4.4 Updated with Watchtower Service

2014-05-02 Thread Ronda Brown
1Password 4.4 Updated with Watchtower Service

AgileBits has released 1Password 4.4, integrating its free, Web-based
1Password Watchtower service into the password management utility. Created
shortly after the Heartbleed exploit was made public (and mentioned in the
comments of “The Normal Person’s Guide to the Heartbleed Vulnerability,” 9
April 2014), Watchtower checks Web sites to determine whether they are
vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug. With this new built-in feature, 1Password
automatically checks Web sites associated with your Logins to alert you if the
site is deemed vulnerable and suggest that you update your password. (The Web
versionof Watchtower remains available.)

Watchtower is turned off by default in 1Password, but it can be easily
activated by clicking the new Watchtower item under the Security Audit section
of the sidebar, and then clicking the Enable button. (You can also control the
feature in the new Watchtower pane of 1Password’s Preferences window.) Once
active, you can click Watchtower under Security Audit to see a list of all
Logins that are vulnerable.

Yes it's a risk Peter.

I balance that risk out by using a combination of Time Machine and Super Duper
backing up to two separate disks on a daily and weekly basis,
and the perceived benefits of using random passwords across all my logins

against

the risk of only ever using a few passwords across all the logins and risking
them all being hacked if one is hacked.

How realistic that risk is unknown really, but I do appreciate how 1Password
makes logging in so easy. I will probably continue to sit comfortably until I
have a crisis such as Stephen did.

Re: Vault File for 1Password ?

2013-10-13 Thread Ronda Brown
Yes Peter highly praises 1Password, as I also do most of us do! ;-)

/quote from one of Peter's responses to list way back on 26 April 2012

If 1Password were simply a password protector it would still come highly
recommended, but it goes much further than that. It is also an excellent
repository for all your software licence codes/serial numbers, credit card
details, passport details, etc, all nicely tucked away in a secure environment
which can be synced across all your devices. It also allows information like
credit card details to be used to autofill forms in web browsers. It's an
indispensable tool.

How realistic that risk is unknown really, but I do appreciate how 1Password

Re: Vault File for 1Password ?

2013-10-13 Thread Stephen Chape
I must be a complete dope using AppCleaner for this one.
I followed the instructions for installing and setting up 1Password 4 first.
Then the final instruction was to uninstall 1Password 3 Extension first and
then delete 1Password 3 itself.
D !

Fortunately (because of my trusting nature) I keep all my passwords on paper in
a very secure place.
So I have now re-entered them all into 1Password 4 and linked the logins again.
The annoying part is that I also lost all my software license info.
It is all around somewhere but not as organised as my passwords, so no huge
problem.

I now have 1Password 4 syncing with iCloud so it is backed up.
But every so often I get a message saying that 1Password backup failed.
But this does not refer to iCloud. It seems to refer to an on the Mac backup
It states in the 1Password user guide that these backups are automatic but does
not say how to turn them off.

Any ideas re this please ?
I am waiting for a reply from Agile Bits re this but they are obviously very
busy right now !

Probably not, so try this:

Hi Stephen

This link should help where the file is stored-
http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/data_backup.html

But basically -
Macintosh HD/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/1Password folder
(Unless you have it backing up with Dropbox sync instead.)

Hope that helps.

Kind regards

Re: 1password for iPad

2012-08-04 Thread Tim Law
Hello John,

I have used1password on my Mac for some time, has anyone used the iPad
version and transferred the Mac passwords to the iPad?

This is just what I do John, and have done for a number of months.

I use Dropbox to sync the 1Password sync file and it works easily and with out
a problem.

Be aware the iPad version is not as useful as the desktop version.
First, it will not pick up passwords entered on a page and offer to add them to
1Password.
Second, to use it, you need to open the 1Password app and then tap on the
website you want to open, your banking for example. Then 1Password uses what I
imagine is it's own browser and opens the site inside that.

Neither of these differences are a problem as such, just as long as you know
the functionality is decreased over the desktop version, and can live with it.
I also have 1Password on the iPhone and it works in the same way as the iPad.
I've never had problems with syncing issues using Dropbox.

Tim

If 1Password were simply a password protector it would still come highly
recommended, but it goes much further than that. It is also an excellent
repository for all your software licence codes/serial numbers, credit card
details, passport details, etc, all nicely tucked away in a secure environment
which can be synced across all your devices. It also allows information like
credit card details to be used to autofill forms in web browsers. It's an
indispensable tool.

Re: 1Password

2012-04-26 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Lynn,

Short answer; Yes!
Longer answer follows below ;-)

What 1Password License do I need?

A 1Password for Mac single-user license allows you to install and use it on as
many Macs as you own. We like to call this our Sane Licensing Model™--there is
only one of you, so we think you should need only one license for 1Password for
Mac to use it on all your Macs!

If you are not the only person using 1Password for Mac, then you require
additional single-user licenses or a family license for 1Password for Mac.

1Password for Windows:
1Password for Windows requires a separate license.

Note: Your 1Password license is platform-specific. This means that you need a
1Password for Mac license to register 1Password in OS X and a 1Password for
Windows license to register 1Password in Windows.

1Password for iOS:

1Password for iPhone and 1Password for iPad are sold separately. They can be
purchased from Apple's iTunes App Store.

Family License:
The family license allows up to five family members living in the same
household to use 1Password. Each family member will not receive their own
license. After purchasing a family license from our store, you will receive
your license and receipt via e-mail.
Share this license with your family so that they can register 1Password using
their own computers or user accounts.

Cheers,
Ronni

Yes, 1Password for the Mac and your iOS devices are separate purchases. There
is no bulk licensing AFAIK (though it's not a bad idea!).

There's no compulsion to use Dropbox for your syncing, but you will need to
have access to a wireless network in order to sync your iOS devices and your
computer.

Hi Alan,

The Tutorials are very helpful.

Also the FAQs http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/faqs.html

It is a simple process that you can add passwords at leisure ;-))

It took me a lot of time to Add all my Keychain Passwords into 1Password; I
still have some in Keychain that I have not yet got around to putting in
1Password yet, and I’ve been using 1Password for a long time…

Thanks for the Agilebits link. The web page is not in the main stream of

website more carefully. My version of the 1PW extension has the old key
icon and most Guides refer to the new 1P icon. Update checks assure me
that I have the latest versions of both the main app and the extension. And
I thought it was going to be a simple process that I could add passwords at

By the way, I find Command \ is the only way I can log into the BankWest

I hope you're feeling better after the cake and coffee!

I am still able to use 1Password to log into my ANZ accounts.
 I'm using OS 10.7.3, Safari 5.1.3 and 1Password 3.8.17.

To try to recreate your problem I have just deleted my ANZ entry in
1Password and gone through the usual process of creating a 1Password Login
for ANZ. It works fine for me, so here are the steps i used…

On the ANZ homepage click on Log on button. A new small window opens. This
window has by default no toolbar showing. Right click/Control click on top
grey area of that small log in window, the contextual menu will show Hide
toolbar as ticked, Un-tick Hide toolbar.

Now fill your username and password in the main section of the ANZ login
window but do not click Log on yet.

Click on the 1Password icon in your toolbar, a small 1Password window will
open. Click the + sign at top right of that 1Password window. A login entry
for the ANZ will appear, check that your username and password are correct
as shown in that Login entry then click Save at top right of that
 1Password window.

To confirm that your 1Password entry is correct, close the ANZ login window
and return to ANZ homepage and start login process from there.

When the small ANZ login window appears, right click/control click and you
will see your anz.com entry in the 1Password list. Click on that entry,
your username and password will be auto-filled and all you need to do is
click on the blue Log on button.

I have assumed that you have the Safari extension for 1Password installed.
 http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/3_minute_expert.html
If you haven't got that installed, then go to the menu
bar1PasswordInstall Browser Extensions, it will take you to the download
page for 1Password Safari extension. Install the extension and then follow
 the above instructions.

Let me know how that goes.

EG: Banking, PapPal, etc.
I just use it to simplify access to all those annoying sites that require a
login for no particular reason, usually where you purchase something.

Just my 2 bobs worth anyway !

I removed the site from my browser bookmarks and tried a clean connect; I

 3. Problem 2: I can't get 1PW to record my login into the ANZ Bank site at
all. (This site was never in the Safari autofill list.) I've followed the

Perhaps it is well that the Bankwest site was down this evening as I will

Re: 1Password Woes Including ANZ Bank Login

2012-03-15 Thread Jane Griffiths

Hi Alan

I hope you're feeling better after the cake and coffee!

I am still able to use 1Password to log into my ANZ accounts.
I'm using OS 10.7.3, Safari 5.1.3 and 1Password 3.8.17.

To try to recreate your problem I have just deleted my ANZ entry in 1Password
and gone through the usual process of creating a 1Password Login for ANZ. It
works fine for me, so here are the steps i used…

On the ANZ homepage click on Log on button. A new small window opens. This
window has by default no toolbar showing. Right click/Control click on top grey
area of that small log in window, the contextual menu will show Hide toolbar
as ticked, Un-tick Hide toolbar.

Now fill your username and password in the main section of the ANZ login window
but do not click Log on yet.

Click on the 1Password icon in your toolbar, a small 1Password window will
open. Click the + sign at top right of that 1Password window. A login entry for
the ANZ will appear, check that your username and password are correct as shown
in that Login entry then click Save at top right of that 1Password window.

To confirm that your 1Password entry is correct, close the ANZ login window and
return to ANZ homepage and start login process from there.

When the small ANZ login window appears, right click/control click and you will
see your anz.com entry in the 1Password list. Click on that entry, your
username and password will be auto-filled and all you need to do is click on
the blue Log on button.

I have assumed that you have the Safari extension for 1Password installed.
http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/3_minute_expert.html
If you haven't got that installed, then go to the menu bar1PasswordInstall
Browser Extensions, it will take you to the download page for 1Password Safari
extension. Install the extension and then follow the above instructions.

Let me know how that goes.

Cheers
Jane

Thanks Jane - but still no go!

i'm using OS 10.6.8, Safari 5.1.4, 1PW 3.8.17 and 1PW extension 3.9.0.

I do not get a contextual menu from the ANZ login window in the top grey area.
Would this be a Lion feature? (Right click works in the blue body area, but
menu is not relevant.) Contextual menu works on home page to Customize
toolbar, so I think my process is OK.

By the way, I find Command \ is the only way I can log into the BankWest site
- selecting BankWest from the 1PW list doesn't work. C\ is a more convenient
method too!

- Good coffee, but I had two slices of cake which I will regret later.

Cheers

area, but menu is not relevant.) Contextual menu works on home page to

By the way, I find Command \ is the only way I can log into the BankWest

If you haven't got that installed, then go to the menu bar1PasswordInstall
Browser Extensions, it will take you to the download page for 1Password
Safari extension. Install the extension and then follow the above
 instructions.

Let me know how that goes.

Thanks for the Agilebits link. The web page is not in the main stream of the

I was trying to transfer my bank account logins to 1Password3 and, in the
process, substitute newly generated strong passwords for my existing weak ones.
I had already found the references you quoted and was trying in vain to follow
them closely. For example, in Changing a Login's Password, everything went
swimmingly until Point 4, Click to automatically fill your new
password... deleted the 1P3 screen and the new password.

Today I decided to scrap the idea of stronger passwords and just concentrate on
getting the existing weak ones into 1P3. Even here the recommended procedures
are misleading. If I 1, Visit a site, enter (my) credentials, and login the
1P3 ikon is gone from the menu bar and I have a screen full of the gory detail
of my bank accounts. Nonetheless, I persevered with the 1P3 screen, clicking

build on this tomorrow.

Agilebits admit that their instructions need to be rather general. They sure

Are you trying to login to your Bank online (in Safari) and get 1Password to
save it so in the future you can automatically login using 1Password?

If so this Link shows you.
How To: Save a 1Password Login:
If you already have a username and password for a site, it’s really easy to
save them into 1Password as a Login, which you can use to get into the site
later much more quickly. From now on, 1Password can automatically and
securely fill in your usernames and passwords for you!

OR, Are you trying to change a login password that you had previously setup

How To: Update a Login’s password:
Maybe you created a Login using a weak password and want to use our Strong
Password Generator to make your account much more secure, or maybe you simply
feel like changing your password for ol’ time’s sake. Whatever the case,
updating a Login’s password is pretty easy:

Re: 1Password

2012-01-13 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Ian,

I’m sorry but I don’t seem to understand what exactly you are trying to do, so
I’m finding it hard to help you.

From now on, 1Password can automatically and securely
fill in your usernames and passwords for you!

http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/3_minute_expert.html

OR, Are you trying to change a login password that you had previously setup in
1Password to login to your Bank online?
The Link above also shows you.
How To: Update a Login’s password:
Maybe you created a Login using a weak password and want to use our Strong
Password Generator to make your account much more secure, or maybe you simply
feel like changing your password for ol’ time’s sake. Whatever the case,
updating a Login’s password is pretty easy:

If none of the above is what you are wanting to do, have a look at the
Tutorials and FAQ Knowledgebase at these links.

Proceed with confidence. IMHO, 1Password is a must have item of software. Not
only is it a repository for all of your important passwords, it's also an
invaluable place to store all of those installation codes we collect and love
to lose over the years. It's also great for Credit Card details and other
important stuff, including secure notes. The true magic happens when you find
how it interacts with your web browser.

By default, 1Password stores its data in the Application Support folder in
your Library folder, in a secure keychain file, so only you have access to it.
Additionally, even you vannot access your 1Password data without a password.

Optionally, you can elect to store this file in a Dropbox folder, but this
seems less secure to me. You can also sync your keychain data with 1Password on
an iPhone and/or and iPad. Same conditions apply.

Re: What do you think of 1Password ?

2011-09-15 Thread Glenn Nicholas
1Password is very secure, and brilliant for storing passwords used by an
individual.
http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/security.html

Where you store your password file isn't an issue, unless you have a weak
master password. With a strong master password, your passwords are encrypted
so the password file is for all practical purposes not accessible to anyone
(without the master password) wherever it is stored. If you have multiple
Macs, using the Dropbox option to sync your password file so it is available
on all your Macs is a very good idea, and very secure.

Choosing a long, strong memorable password and not changing it is a good
idea. Encryption is sorted for you, but there is a greater chance for
problems to arise if you choose a weak password.

These posts - from 1Password and PassPack - provide background on why
strong, memorable passwords that don't change are a good approach. And yes,
I do know there are some situations where changing passwords regularly is a
good idea. Just not when it comes to your master password file.

This post helps with a 'long is strong' approach to creating passwords:
http://help.passpack.com/knowledgebase/idx.php/1/154/article/How-to-Choose-a-Password.html
And this one provides all the details for those who want the science behind
it all:
http://blog.agilebits.com/2011/06/toward-better-master-passwords/

If you need to share passwords within a team, Passpack.com is a very good
option. Doesn't have the same slick interface as 1Password, but when it
comes to sharing passwords securely, it is brilliant.

1Password, Firefox4, Firefox PDF plug-in, 32-bit operation

2011-05-18 Thread Neil Houghton

Hi all,

Since I know there are a few 1Password users out there and also some Firefox
users - I thought I would pass on the following:

Yesterday I finally decided to upgrade to Firefox4. A good move I think/hope
- it seems much snappier.

After setting up the toolbar how I like it and moving the tabs back down
below the toolbar, I found my first problem - the PDF plug-in was not
compatible with Firefox4. Google soon solved this with a compatible plug-in
- however it currently requires running Firefox in 32 bit mode.

I made the switch, pdfs open fine and off I went.

Sometime later, I tried to use 1Password but found that it no longer worked
in Firefox - at that time I didn't think about the 32 bit change but, since
it was OK in Safari, I figured it had to be associated with the change to
Firefox4.

I found a related post at the Agile forums:
http://forum.agile.ws/index.php?/topic/4733-firefox-4-extension-partially-r
esponsive/page__gopid__27338

And soon got the answer:
Also note that 1Password loads separate extensions for 32-bit and 64-bit
scenarios. This is determined at the time the extension is installed (not
every time it is activated when launching the browser). If you toggle
Firefox's bit-ness between 32- and 64-bit you will need to completely
uninstall and then reinstall the 1Password extension each time. I only mention
this in case you often switch between the two. If you stay with 32-bit you
will only need to reinstall the 1Password extension when you eventually make
the switch to 64-bit at a later date.

That was all it was - removing and re-installing the extension cured the
problem.

Just something to be aware of if you run 1Password and change your browser
from 64 bit to 32 bit (or vice versa).

Cheers

Hi Stephen,

There is quite a bit of info on 1Password in WAMUG Archives.

1Password, by Agile Web Solutions, can best be described as OS X’s Keychain
concept on steroids.
To quote their website:

1Password takes care of all your online passwords so you can use strong and
unique passwords for every site and never forget any of them! … In short,
1Password keeps track of all your web passwords, automates sign-in, guards from
identity theft, and allows you to stop worrying about your safety while online.

http://agilewebsolutions.com/products/1Password

I have always Keychain Access for all my Passwords and Secure Notes etc.
But have been trying to find time to input all the passwords and information I
have in my Keychain into 1Password.

Finding time is the difficult part ;-)

Cheers,
Ronni

2011-03-28 Thread Glenn Nicholas
1Password is excellent software.

An alternative is LastPass. This is nowhere near as easy to use as 1Password
- despite doing the same things as 1Password it is quite clunky in
comparison. However depending on your requirements it has a feature that
could be very important - it allows for secure sharing of passwords with
others (on Windows or Mac), primarily because it stores passwords (securely)
off your computer, not on it. Sharing is something 1Password can't do.

There are two pieces of software out there that I regard as pretty much
mandatory on any Mac that I own: one is 1Password, and the other is Default
Folder (but that's another story). The true magic of 1Password shows itself
when you access a web site that requires authentication. 1Password will capture
your login and password (but only with your permission!) and automatically
create an entry in its database for you. It also puts a very handy little icon
in your browser's toolbar (works with all popular browsers) that gives you
access to many of 1Password's features without launching the software at all.

1Password would be valuable enough for its password capture alone, but it also
keeps track of all your software licence keys, credit card numbers, expiries,
etc (with automatic fill-in on web forms), and even private notes.

It is a bit of work to set up 1Password in the first instance with all your
stuff, but it's time well spent. It does base its password directory on, and
works in concert with, the built-in keychain database, so it pretty much
becomes part of the system. The ability to sync with the iPhone or iPad gives a
very handy and effective backup system as well.

1Password is pretty much perfect at what it is designed to do (not much good at
word processing, though...)

Hi Wamuggers
I find that 1Pasword does not fill in the passwords on sites that require you
to click on a screen qwerty board or similar. Otherwise works fine.

Also sometimes I wonder what would happen if one of the writers of this
software went bad or the program was hacked??.

NO

I would start by going into 1Password on your Mac and having a look to see
if in the main window under sinking if you can see dropbox sinkings tab if
you can't see this you don't have it configured correctly.

Re: 1Password

2010-12-10 Thread John Daniels
Hi Folks
I have been in email contact again with Agile and here is their 2nd reply
which explains the process a little more. They certainly respond quickly to
emails to the support address:-

The 1PasswordAgent is a background process that kicks off another process
called 1PasswordThumbs. It's 1PasswordThumbs' job to create a miniature
thumbnail picture of the screen as you yourself would see it of any web page
that you have saved as a Login in 1Password, including any backgrounds, images,
etc. This thumbnail capability can be turned off in 1Password's Preferences,
but it's perfectly expected that 1PasswordAgent will get the attention of
Little Snitch. Because the sites it wants to access are the same ones (and just
as varied) as you use in your browser, it's simplest to tell Little Snitch to
always Allow any connections, otherwise you'll be prompted for each one (your
choice of course!).

The web page that you have saved a Login for also may refer to other in-line
images. So for instance, when you go to http://agile.ws/products/1Password the
header image is pulled from
http://aws.cachefly.net/aws/images/1password/home-header-v3-3.png and the
thumbnail process will attempt to load that image also while building the
thumbnail for the agile.ws page.

Cheers
John

Hi Paul

I appreciate and respect your caution, particularly in relation to matters
of personal security. My response was not intended to be critical; if
anything a little lighthearted.
I simply wanted to make the point that the response from Agile support was a
fair and reasonable explanation and response to his concerns.
I thought that your very disturbing comment was a bit unfair however I now
notice that your email was actually before John's second email so you were
commenting without the benefit of seeing the explanation given by the
support person.

I apologise if my response seemed harsh or offensive.

Re: 1Password

2010-12-10 Thread Ronda Brown
Hello Paul,

I was shocked and disappointed with your 'knee-jerk' reaction to Shayne's
accurate and factual reply.

Shayne did not have to take the time to reply to WAMUG list and possibly
diffuse a panic that your reply might have given people who don't understand
security issues.

A little research on your part before replying, to find out just how secure
1Password is and also what Little Snitch does doesn't do ( how to
understand, use control Little Snitch), would have been more appropriate.

1Password uses 128-bit keys for encryption, which means that it would take
millions of years for a criminal to decrypt your data using a brute force
attack.
Your data is encrypted using AES, the same state-of-the-art encryption
algorithm used as the national standard in the United States.

http://help.agile.ws/1Password3/agile_keychain_design.html

The Agile Web Solutions developers are working on a new release of 1Password
(1Password 4). Their arm is to make 1Password as easy as possible to securely
and reliably sync 1Password data.

Actually Paul it is not disturbing really. The second reply that John got
from Agile support is a reasonable explanation of why he is getting warning
messages from Little Snitch. It is simply advising him what the
1PasswordThumbs process is doing. And the response from support gives a
logical explanation of why the process is doing it.

 As they say:
This thumbnail capability can be turned off in 1Password's Preferences, but
it's perfectly expected that 1PasswordAgent will get the attention of
Little Snitch. Because the sites it wants to access are the same ones (and
just as varied) as you use in your browser, it's simplest to tell Little
Snitch to always Allow any connections, otherwise you'll be prompted for
each one (your choice of course!).

 Nothing to panic about there.

2010-12-09 Thread John Daniels

Hi all
Further to my message re 1Thumbs/1Password site, this is the reply I got from
Agile Support:-

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry for the trouble here,
your web browser should never be asking you to login to 1Thumbs, this is our
background process that's used to download previews and icons of sites you save
logins for within 1Password.

Cheers
John

 Thanks Peter
Maybe I hit the wrong key. Do you regard the security as satisfactory and is
the site 1Thumbs/1Password part of the Agile site?
 Cheers

It is not normal behaviour for iPassword to connect to anything without your
telling it to. It could well ask to be allowed to accept incoming
connections though. This IS normal. Unfortunately, there is not enough
detail in your post to comment more helpfully.

Not to worry if it has gone.
