If the 2k3 is running the firewall service.. it won't replicate. Make
sure you've shut that off. I've easily replicated to a 2k3 box when
doing a swing migration from one SBS2k3 to another.

old incident with PSS and talk to them about it.
With regard to your related question, I don't think your plan would work, because you
would end up with a different GUID for the server. It would be bet
all servers. Then reinstall the server and run DCPROMO
