I'm not sure if that is the encryption that Aaron is talking about. I believe he is talking about the ability to encrypt data in a character field before putting it in the DB...and then decrypt it once it's in the client _ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList)

You can use whatever encryption level you want inside of the US. You can buy a 256bit SSL from verisign right now. What your thinking of is the export limitation for US based software exporting outside of the US. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion

Yes, but don't you have to use an encryption key to perform that encryption? Thats what I thought as these functions are disabled by default if you do not have encryption enabled on your ARS server... Joe - Original Message From: L. J. Head [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG

Oh I thought the limitation was on the use of it too.. Wonder why there is an export restriction then when there isn't any law about what level of encryption you use in most other countries... Joe - Original Message From: Wheeler, Dylan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG

The 56 bit key is for free and is the default level of encryption when you enable it on the ARS Servers.. Anything higher you need to buy and I believe the maximum strenght of encryption you can buy is 128 bit for the ARS... Joe - Original Message From: Reiser, John J [EMAIL

This is the best explanation I've seen of a working SSO implementation. I have not played with the BMC provided sso stuff, so I don't know if it's any good or not. http://www.javasystemsolutions.com/products/sso/diagrams.php We've implemented a very similar solution using SiteMinder. This

I have used Serena as a Defect Tracking system (product development) and not for an IT solution, especially from an ITIL standpoint. Serena is fairly easy to customize. However, compared to Remedy, it is nowhere close (from what little bit I know about Serena). Some questions to ask which would

No takers? How about this then since I am not used to doing the server side - The Remedy server itself has to have external authentication turned on by something called AREA (Action Request External Authentication). This is an option normally selected during the server install or
