Interesting findings. That's quite different to my own experiences,
where I've found that just tweaking CD transports can make a good and
noticeable difference.

a couple of questions.
The digital output from the squeezbox would be used if you had your own
DAC, correct? Otherwise you would use analog output? (and Squeezebox
would do the conversion internally)?

My BC3000 is single-ended, and we used single-ended outputs from the
Transporter (and SB3, obviously!). Also, Blue Circle tubed preamps are
actually very neutral-sounding when compared to the likes of

Regarding the balance outputs, it uses higher voltage output, using TWO
optamps. Its the same Opamp used on single ended which uses ONE Opamp.
This is the reason some perfer balanced sound from the Transporter.
Keep in mind balance outputs and single ended componented are not
created equal.

A lot of people do not hear the difference in digital outputs from SB3
and Transporter into the same dac, or an SB3 going wireless with a
lossless file and a Krell cd players digital output playing the same
cd, and still lots of people are hard

The hi-rez downloads I did in 24/96 plays perfectly fine on my wireless
SB3.
I havent tried the Linn flac yet. Only downloaded a 24/48 Brahms, and

knowledge induction burners generate pretty strong magnetic field,
anyone knows how noisy are they for audio equipment?

I have found that streaming 48KHz/24bit to my SB3 works fine, but
96KHz/24bit has a problem.
When it worked for you, were you running a similar scenario, with the
large analog VU meters as your screen saver? I found that this ruined
the stream, and it appeared the SB3 simply could not handle

If you are looking into NAD320BEE, then look just a little bit further
and check out NAD C-352. Little bit more expensive, but better. It is
in the same price range/class as Cambridge Audio 640A, but it looks
like it's getting slightly better reviews.

I had to make exactly the same choice a year ago between the CA and the
NAD.
I would say the CA is the best of the two. I went for the CA and i very
happy with it. For the money, it sounds incredible. But i also found the
build quality slightly better with the CA and also think it more

I have been listening side-by-side to a Transporter (XLR out) vs an
SB3-digital coax-Bryston BP25DA (DAC). I was listening to a variety
of FLAC files of EAC ripped CDs. Through a balanced headphone rig, the
only difference I could hear a slightly wider soundstage
EAC is considered to be the gold standard CD ripper, because it can be
set up to do bit-perfect rips, though it is generally slower than some
other rippers. It's a bit of a pain to set up, but once you have the
right settings for your drive, it works well.
