If you try the SB analog outs, be sure to set your receiver into Direct mode, or whatever is required to get it to bypass any digital processing. If you do not, the receiver is going to end up converting the analog to digital and using its DAC anyway. -- jeffmeh

One hypothesis is that the act of the SB decoding the FLAC to WAV changes something in the SB (perhaps causes it to generate additional electromagnetic interference)such that it is audible on some systems to some people. -- jeffmeh

While you are listening you may want to try the SB analog outputs. To start, I would compare the SB DAC with analog out to the DAC in the TGP-5. You might find that you like one of those enough not to bother with another DAC. -- jeffmeh
