Great thread! I have a couple of ideas/answers:
I too love muso for its album-oriented approach; I tend to play only
albums. Some better logic (or custom tag) for detecting albums and
discarding singles would be good (e.g. 'Tubular Bells' has only two
(very long) tracks, but it's an album, some

What I like most about this is that based of your listening history and
scrobbles to LastFM, the plug-in queries LastFM's recommendation engine
and selects music from your own library.
I can see problems with this approach:
1. Not all music is in LastFM's library, and scrobbling is also
