You do NOT need a voltage booster with the K3.
If you allow a 12V lead-acid battery to drop to 10.5 you have just
over-discharged it and have already caused it at least minor damage.

Those short #10 pigtails need to be very flexible. You can go to a car
audio shop and by extremely flexible wire by the foot. If it almost
fits the connector, snip off a few strands.
The stuff I got is "speaker cable" but I use it for power leads. Very
nice.

The 13 kHz FM filter adds a lot of quality to the fidelity, and lets
you tune and listen in AM mode with pleasant results.
And yes, other Mike, bandswitching and VFO management are still
problematic outside the ham bands.

Yes, I'd hope for further improvement of the NR on phone. Even if
it's not too effective I still nearly always have it on, but the radio
powers up with it off and blasts me wit
OW dormant.
Perhaps it will thrive in the winter season. There is no designated
net control or manager, so when the time comes, I encourage anyone to
take charge.

SSB Nets were off to a good start through the winter, but with
seasonal shift, activity has faded on both the 20m and 40m nets.
Last night for example, 40 was noisy and short, but 20 was jumping
with 3- ways all
on.
The Sunday net has also been unresponsive lately. Let's take that up
next.

If the threads of your tap mesh the screw, then the screw is NOT metric.
Metric size is noticeably different. If your tap's diameter also matches,

After my attempt, I checked the Config menu. Ity says uC 1.78 / FW REV 5
The Utility says 1.78 IS the current MCU version.
So I think it worked, but the "waiting" statement is misleading and
the Utility gave me no confirmation of success.

Hello all,
I plan to conduct some tests. I have a small solar panel that puts out
50ma maximum. I'll connect it to my "pimped-out KX1" and see how it
charges the 11.8v Li-Poly Battery. More to come...

Or, an option might be to instal an IF output for the scope without
purchasing the KXV-3. Is it just a cable and jack, or is there some
isolating circuitry? (If it's very involved, I'd just get the whole
KXV-3.)
