Jo,
with LTSP-4.2, you don't need the MODULE_xx entries in lts.conf.
Also, you need to say 'PRINTER_0_TYPE = P' instead of 'PRINTER_1_TYPE'.
The mis-numbering of the printer entries was fixed a while ago.

Hostname / IP-address mapping is done either by /etc/hosts, or by DNS.
DHCP can send a hostname to the workstation. Either it will send the
hostname specified inside the 'host ws001 { ... }' entry in dhcpd.conf,
if you have 'use-host-decl-names on;'. OR, it will lookup the hostname

Hi all,
I think I might have missed something in the docs - I want to set up a

ignore these ones. But then we have two other printers. One, which is freely
accessible in a corridor, and another one in the staffroom.

Hello John, hello Frank,
thank you for this great ideas. I will try it next time (friday).
I understood the first facility, but maybe you can explain the second one a
little bit more.
1. If I set the printer variable, it accesses the given queue on a local cups
server?
2. If this is so, can the

I'm new here, so I first want to say hello. But the reason for contacting

One thing that a lot of people on this list do is make a default
printer that goes to /dev/null. Basically, nothing prints unless you
select a non-default printer. This would prevent accidentally
printing to a distant default printer, but it does

thank you for those many answers. I will have a look at k12osn, thanks for the

the problem is, that a terminalsystem is logically only one pc. And from the
