st way to do it is to pull off the two round caps on the screen
hinge. Then, you can pull the top plastic up by the to little "tab"
thingies on the sides towards the back and pull forwards towards you.

the 6500 it's barely usable and on the Starmax it's actually not bad at
all. I did, however, add a Voodoo3 which helps a ton with graphics. You
obviously won't be able to do that with a Powerbook.
I'd bet your Powerbook if it's at least 100mhz could match the power of

bably the best way would be to rip to wav or au files. Should be
playable on even a 68k PB (say, '030 and above just to make up an arbitrary
breakpoint that sounds fun). If you have a PPC Powerbook of decent speed
you could rip to mp3. Other than that, I don't think you can get the mus
resses? If not, you can try filling those in
with your ISPs numbers. You may have to give them a call.

driver on the boot disk. It won't hurt Win95 to be installed from a Win98 boot.

As for clearing recently viewed docs, go to your System Folder, to Apple
Menu Items, then you should see the folder in there for the various
recently viewed things. Open them up and delete the things you don't want.
You can also go into your Apple Menu Options CPL and turn those off.

If you don't have Stuffit, you'll need to format a Mac disk on your Mac,
then use a program such as HFV Explorer or TransMac or the like to copy it
to the Mac floppy. While copying it will decode the file.
This is, of course, assuming the file will fit on a flopp

plugged in firmly and try manually dialing something to see if you can hear it.

I'd work, but the one gotcha is flash memory has a limited number of write
cycles. In a digital camera or the like, they'll last a good long while.
But, used as virtual memory where there could be thousands of writes in a
short time, it'll die very quickly.

an all-or-nothing thing. Either it's a
non-crititcal bit of surface damage that just renders a few bits unusable
but the rest goes on fine, or the entire thing dies.

I'm pretty sure I've seen people mention booting 2400s on the Duo/2400
list. I don't see any reason why the 5x0's wouldn't, though as I don't have
a card cage for mine (people just want too much for the things...) I
haven't tried i
D over localtalk and install that way... as long as
you don't mind leaving the thing set up like that for a day or two. But, it
would work :)

adapter lying around somewhere. I know a Duo-style adapter works on lots of
other models, and charging the battery and such isn't important as long as
the thing boots.
Will a Duo adapter run it?

some trouble finding the drivers lately there, if they're still hard to
find just stick the ethertech.hqx into Google and it'll pop up fairly quickly.
Works great with mine :) Now, if only the thing worked in Linux... makes
the Duo hard to make useful in Linux :)
e you can get them on eBay for $20-40 ;) I even get an
hour and a half or so battery life out of it. One of these days I need to
get my rebuilt battery working again, if the cells are at all good anymore.
Broke a wire and never got around to getting ti working again. Was getting
4 hours out of
ning the CD-ROM is draining it faster. Time for a new/rebuilt battery
perhaps? Or does the 1400 have a conditioning program?

still needed enablers, but not many. By 8.1 they were completely gone.

the CF card work as a
standard drive?
CF does have a limited number of read/write cycles before it dies, it's
possible it's reached that.

compatible with PC serial ports on a hardware
level - they both communicate with the RS-232 standard. The main question
is going to be a matter of drivers. In all likelihood, VPC would indeed
work fine.

lot more logic.
