material you won't have to worry about it! As for which book, I would

The intro to the book mentions that they are already working on Vol II
but doesn't mention a potential release date. Apparently, the author(s)
felt that there wasn't enough space in the book to adequately address
BGP so they moved it to Vol II, along with IPX, VPN, and who knows what
else.

years ago and was suppose to again by this past June 30th. So I'm
currently inactive. Since it's relatively quite this time of year
though I am reading some wonderful stuff so I can get the thing over

There are three possible states of a CCIE: Active, Suspended, and Inactive.
Active indicates you are a CCIE in good standing - you've met all of the
certification requirements. When you first pass your lab, you are an active
CCIE for a period of two years. In order to remain active, you must

supplement this one with the Parkhurst book for BGP, which goes into far

BGP-OSPF interaction has specifically been made Historic by the IETF
(i.e., obsolete). It's not in the current BGP documents, and there is
an administrative document that obsoletes 1364.
Sounds like Cisco meets the old RFC 1364, but new implementations
won't have the restriction.

Some additional info. Per rfc 3166, RFC 1403, which obsoletes 1364, has
been moved to historic status since no one ever implemented it. This is

You need to perform NAT on your router so that as far as the ISP is

variables into account. A certification alone is not enough to make a

I think the participants in the survey probably obtained a good salary while
the economy was steaming along. Anyone trying to obtain these salaries now

should cover the variation in experience. Personally I would expect
lower level certifications to have a wider distribution wrt experience
and that should translate into the same in salary.
