There were at least 4 adult Glossy Ibis on the south side of Bromley Lane, just
east of Picadilly Rd. east of Brighton CO. They were with a flock of 120+
White-faced Ibis. I think this is the most I have seen together in Colorado. I
looked for hybrid characteristics but found none.

I just finished guiding a group of 7 birders through western Colorado. Some
comments that may be of interest to others:
1. Chukar. We exited I70 onto Hwy 65 (Collbran exit in eastern Mesa County) and
pulled over at the wide pulloff/rest area just off the interstate to the south.
A Chukar was
on the
forecrown but not the rows of thin white lines. We assumed this was due to
active feather molt.

south end of Horsetooth Reservoir (mostly near the Spring Canyon Dam – reached
by travelling west along Harmony Road), and communally roosting at Carter Lake,
southwest of Loveland.

western birds that Steve refers to. Do pale ones ever show up in the Pacific
Northwest? Do birds of the Irish wintering-population ever show up in the USA
in winter?

McIntosh Lake hosted many diving ducks and gulls on the north side of the lake
today. Among them was an adult Thayer’s Gull, a 3rd-cycle Thayer’s Gull, and a
winter-plumage immature Long-tailed Duck.

Unfortunately, these birds were discovered after sunset, so no posting til now.
I was able to track down Joey Kellner who lives nearby and he was able to see
these birds just before total darkness.

I also checked College Lake (2 miles north of Dixon Reservoir) in case the
other swan that flew north over Dixon had landed there. Lots of birds were
present, but no swan.

and 6 Snow Geese.

Gulls. Now I think they were all Thayer’s Gulls. My park pass ($7) is valid for
24 hrs, so I will be back in a few hours to take more photos.
