Hi all,
my son's just loaded mdk 9.1 on his machine and finds kde runs very slow, much

I wont find out more till I get home. Are there any ideas that he could try in

Thanks

with kde3. When I log off from KDE I get back to the cli and see a lot of
warnings and error messages from KDE.
At LinuxTag in Karlsruhe, Germany I asked the KDE guys about it and one
of them stated that most of it are

I recently updated my kde to the 3.0.1 rpms. Since then, I can no longer

I just downloaded and installed the latest kde 3.0.1 rpms for Mandrake 8.2.
All is well except for a problem with konsole. I start the konsole from the
kpanel and the konsole comes up fine but the panel is now frozen. I use the
magnify icons on a tiny kpanel and the konsole icon remains up

This is a known problem with KDE3, the workaround is to delete the Konsole
icon from the kpanel bar and start it from the menu, or to make a shortcut

Peter,
It didn't help. I actually did have it working ONCE and then it stopped again.
After doing some reading on pclinuxonline.com I think the problem is with KDE
3.0.1. It seems to have broken
