Hulen,
Use the serial ports (real or virtual) of your computer. The radio is
the computer, your 1500 is "only" the front end.
You can select the port and other details in the setup/CAT tab of the
program.

Do you anybody remember an external utility for doing scans?
It was made by a member of the list long time ago, and it worked using
CAT, I think. I lost it in a computer update and I don't remember the
utility's name and even who was its author.

corporation", I believe it is a common item in the USA. I only had to
drill 4 holes for the audio jacks and a cutout for the sub-D connector,

Well, I executed cleanup, retried and the program updated normally.
The strange question is why it was not updated the first time without
