LTSP provides the kernel for a client to boot over the network, an X
windows client (confusingly called xserver) and programs to configure

Dillip,
It looks like you are using a kernel package from a much
older version of ltsp.
What you should do is take a look at
http://www.LTSP.org/instructions-3.0.html
for the packages and simple instructions for getting
LTSP installed.

Check your /etc/exports file and make sure you have the right ip address
permissions

Go to the LTSP.org site and click on the 'Contrib' link on
the left side of the screen.

/etc/sysconfig/syslog on your logging host (192.168.0.15 - usually t
From the looks of it, you may not have the correct permissions in your
/etc/exports file. Barring that, make sure you have ip_forward turned
on for the device that sits between the two network segments.

Ian,
What do you mean 'LTSP-Like' ?
Is this your own root filesystem that you have created ?
It looks to me like the version of init you are using doesn't
like the parameters that are being passed to it.

What kind of network card is in your client? Sounds to me like you have an
ISA NIC and you need to hit the docs to configure this.
It involves passing the kernel a couple of parameters via dhcp so it knows
what type of network card to load.
Covered in the docs.

Francois,
When you get your machine connected to the internet, please
send me a copy of your scripts. I'd like to see exactly
what you did.
Thanks,
