The LEDs tell you what the frequency of the input signal is. The first LED
that lights tells you there is no signal, and then it goes up 32kHz,
44.1kHz, and 48kHz.

the lens. When a lens needs cleaning, often other things will need cleaning
too, so take off the cover and give it an overhaul. (as long as you know
what you're doing of course :o) )

I will be the first of many to say "DO NOT USE A LENS CLEANER!!!"
The lenses on MD players are made from plastic and get scratched by
lens cleaners. The best way to clean a dirty lens in my opinion is a
cotton bud and some good quality cleaning fluid.
All the
er a while ago someone posting that Stippler had
stopped selling their SCMS stripper kits, but that another company in
the Netherlands were selling them.
Does anyone have the URL or information on the company?

t I can charge mine off the same 4.5VDC
supply. I did manage to destroy one adaptor during my testing phase,
but that was because it couldn't supply the necessary current, so it
fried itself. Any adaptor with a current output in excess of 600mA
should work fine, whether it is at 4.5V or 5V.
Providing the power pack can supply the current, then it should power
the 722 just fine. I power my 702 off a Sony 4.5VDC mains adaptor
and I have never had any problems with it.

If you received this .exe from me or Andy & Ellen (housemates), it is a virus. I
did not send it. It was sent to me and then it mailed itself to everyone on my
list and on Andy & Ellen's Eudora list, apparently.
A virus scan will clean it out. We had no control of it at all.

I use a Sony AC adaptor for my 702. It converts 240VAC to 4.5VDC,
supplies 700mA and charges my unit for me too! And it cost me twenty
quid, instead of the 110 quid that Sharp UK wanted for a transformer.

need (coax and optical for both input and output). The analog portion also

Original data MDs hold 160mb. The new MD-Data2 discs hold 650mb and are
currently being used in Sony's new "discam" camera. Old zips had a 100mb

I have a Sony JE520, and I use it in the way you describe. I have an
industrial digital controller / timer, and I can use this to set loads of
on/off timings. When the 520 is switched to Record Timer mode, it will
automatically find the last track on the MD and start recording after
22.
I think you've got the wrong idea about being a student. The aim is to do
as little as possible, and recording lectures, porting them to MP3 and doing
all your assignments leaves far too little drinking time!
And anyway, why do you want to archive all your lectures? It sounds
masochisti
ks in the same way?
It seems logical that it should but I suppose it could do something less
helpful e.g. the second recording could overwrite the first.

recording has been reached - I know my Sharp does.
It won't do anything to your recordings, and if it is bothering you, it
might be possible to switch the beeps off. Again, I know this is possible
on the Sharp units.

I had a UTOC error on ym 702MK once - but it was after I'd thrown it across
the office. Once I realigned the recording head it worked just fine - and
has done ever since!
