routers in your network, you'll also want to open that port as well and point
it to the IP of your box running VNC server. For multiple boxes, the display
numbers (configured on the server) will determine which server you get to.

http://www.shorewall.net/FAQ.htm#faq4 tells me that shorewall will
by default leave these ports 'closed' because it cuts down on
'chatter' in Windows/Samba networks. So thats another mystery

Xconfigurator but using the NeoMagic drivers the best I can get is a

check your .conf file for apache. in /httpd ( i think?). there should be a
line in the file the specifies what the public directory is named. Although
I think public_html is the default. Also check your folder permissions.

I also got my TT fonts to work. If I configure my X server with XF86Setup
I can
say goodbye to TT fonts and color to the Netscape and WP8 toolbars. This
doesn't happen when using Xconfigurator. Can anyone tell me why?

Yes I have an i740 too, and use XBF for it. But there is just one
XF86Config
and is located in /etc/X11/
