Of course you'll want a bigger HD also but ince the transfer rate is slow I wouldn't recommend paying extra for a 7200, the 4200/5400 would be fine. Also be careful of ATA6 HD's as they appear to not work in these old PB models. WS I and II will both accept at least some ATA-6 HDs. I use

i have two ram slots, i can put 256 in both max., Yup. the lower slot should be low profile DIMM, Yup. i should use SDRAM memory of 100Mhz or greater PC 100, and use ram with 2-2-2 speed... The wallstreets can use 66 Mhz Ram for either WS1 or WS2. Evidently the Ram isnt clocked

on the Wallstreet (any 1998 PB) and Lombard (1999), but will be read correctly as 256 MB on the Pismo (2000). The Pismo doc states specifically that this model requires a different SODIMM specification than the earlier machines (1998 and 1999, e.g.). I believe the difference is inherent in the 2000's memory

If you can connect both of these to the internet simultaneously behind a switch/router you should be able to see them on the network -- you could even goto ipchicken.com to find the IP of the ibook, then try to telnet into there from control-panels remote connect on the wallstreet using that IP

One thing you will need to do on the Wallstreet is make sure that Appletalk is an active extension (or is it a control panel and extension), but anyway you need to make sure that appletalk is set to use ethernet. And then on the OSX machine, go to the networking and for the ethernet port
