Windows 98 require
a single DOS partition for M$ Setup to continue. I always make a single FAT
partition just in case. For some bizarre reason, if you have multiple
paritions with FAT32, Win98 will not install.

in /etc/X11/XF86Config
goto the Mouse section(pointer section)
make sure you have
ZAxisMapping 4 5
in the pointer section, and 3button emulation off (# comment it out)
then save and you should be fine
