I have a 1Gb drive about half full with Apple Lossless files. The drive
is mains powered. It is Western Digital I would say that every third
track or so it skips to the next track and obviously I find it
annoying. Can anyone help?

I've been having this same problem for a while now. I installed the
latest nightly on Windows Home Server yesterday, but this did not fix
it.
My music is generally purchased from iTunes, so tends to be AAC. I have
tried other builds from 7.5 upwards, but have the same issue. Tracks

happens. I am not taking notes all the time, but I think, it happens
every time I play a long file. What is for sure, is, that it happens as
well on normal-res CD rips (44.1/16), as long as they are of a certain

Changing the file rights from 766 to 777 doen't seem to fix it. When
playing the same album on my old setup (Qnap TS-101 with SS 6.3.1
there's no problems at all, each song is completed as it should.
Next option: trash and total rescan of the music library

Facing the exact same problem here. Running SC 7.5.3 on a Qnap TS-112
and playing on a squeezebox 2 over wifi (84% wifi signal strength). It
seems like the SB loses connection to the file it's playing, as it
sometimes very shortly shows a message in the screen, saying "can't
open file from:..". Wh

I've updated to 7.6 on the touch AND removed all cover art (inside tags
as well as folder.jpgs) from the library.
I was able able to finish a scan for the first time! After that, the
first track i played skipped, but after that almost everything worked
(I was able to play whole albums) this weeke
I have installed it on my Mac and see it when opening squeezbox server.
However on my touch its still running 7.5.1 . How do i get the touch to

I updated my firmware and it seems to be happening sporadically at this
point. Some tracks it truncates, some it doesn't. I am also having an
issue with the the first track of any CD dropping out after about 10
seconds. I think this thing just doesn't buffer well enough to handle

I have a library of just below 20K-MP3-files on an external USB-HDD
(bus-powered, but it is a 1,8" pulling _very_ little energy) with
enough spare space for the library.

having problems. If that's the actual problem I'm not sure what we can
do about it. Have you tried another OS?
