I have started a home lab and have a Cisco 806 router with IOS 12.2 IP F/W
Plus installed on it. I am trying to set up the 806 to be my gateway between
my home network and my cable modem. I have set up nat and have that working
properly, and I have tried RIP v2 running between the 806 and Link
I took it six months ago and didn't see any IS-IS, it may have chamged by
now though. Not much diff just the number.

vaults of my brain. It seems to me that you want to use 'dialer dtr' on the
serial interface so that it raises DTR when it wants to dial. Then you
configure your modem with the number you want to dial and set i

According to that page, that module is definitely not supported on the 2600
series unles
I had the same model and the same problem in 2001. I was doing prettyt much
the same setup also, however I had PAT in use. For some reason (which was
reoslved with an IOS upgrade), the box would die but luckily I would get a
dump at that time of the memory etc. I got onto the TAC and they had a new

And that's the funny thing. Autonegotiation *is* the standard! ;-) It's
when you don't use auto

parameters, which makes me think this is an application or OS-specific
parameter and is only relevant to a particular TCP implementation and could
vary from platform to platform.
Any thoughts on this?
