First of all, dedicated Tx Rx image calibration for each band is only a software issue. I believe that Flex Radio deliberately didn't implement this feature to the sdr1k for the favor of the flex5k. Sdr1k although innovative now it's an abandoned project on both hardware and software sides.

I installed the variable speed fan controller designed by W1GHZ. It's the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas. Someone was selling kits for this but I've lost track of who. I also did the nibbling thing, although I found the nibbling tool less effective that a small saw. I did that first.
