My Fellow PowerBook-philes,
I was wondering -- is the RAM on a Wallstreet compatible with the RAM on
a Pismo?
The reason I ask is that I have a relative abundance of Wallstreet RAM
(over 1 gig, split between upper and lower) and I have a Pismo on the
way that only has 192 RAM.
I am tempted
Hi all,
My pismo has lately developed a worrying habit of waking up with a
blueish tinted screen. It's not an all-over cast, it's more that it seems
to be picking up the subtle horizontal grey stripes in the menu bar and
title bars, and colouring them blue, in a streaky kind of way! (I would

I've never seen anything like this in the 15 years I've been using Mac's
but I'm sure someone else has. Am I in trouble here? All help appreciated.

My guess is your drive has gone belly up, at least the boot section. If you
have your old drive, try putting that in your Pismo and see if that works.
If so then you may be able to access the 60Gig drive from a external case
that doesn't have to boot to be seen.

Hello,
Are there any websites detailing the removal of CD RW/DVD faceplates
from a non-working Pismo or ibook 500 drive so I can put them onto a
new compatible drive?
Thanks.

Thanks.

The snow iBook adapters - the G4 yo-yo and the square white adapter both
have a smaller plug than that used in the Pismo.
The Pismo needs the black slim G3

Looking for a superdrive for my Pismo, has anyone had any luck with a
UJ-845-B? Anyone have any suggestions for one that will slot load, boot osx
and work with native apple apps. I have seen recommendations for older
drives in that series, not sure about this one. Thanks for your help. Kevin
Put the RAM back where it was.
It very likely doesn't like one of the modules in the 'wrong' slot.
Also do alt-apple - O - F just after the BONG and when you get a
DOS-like screen type 'reset-nvram' then hit return.
Can also type 'reset-all' instead.
Or, better still, throw the damn thing away.
Throw away an (almost) perfectly good powerbook? I'll have it if you're
throwing it out...

Hello,
I have just received a Pismo 400 mhz, 256 mb, running system 9.22 and
I have a few queries.

indicator light flashes. Does this mean the battery is dead? The
