i didnt touch any of my other partitions whilst installing
windows, and i had 5gb space on my hd so i didnt need to fiddle with diskdrake.
Any ideas anyone? Do i need a mandrake boot disc or something?

I have Win 98 at work and I'm constantly being attacked by
virii/worms/trojans (through email and an open share on the network), also
gatorware, which once infected my pc and was a pain to disinfect... I have

In my haste to install it, I overlooked adding a user and so therefore I was
running as root. The solution that worked for me was to create a user and
then login as that user. As you should know, the root desktop is different to
a user desktop :-)

error persists on a FAT32 part, then scandisk must be run.
But regarding NTFS, it's simply not possible/allowed at all to write.

I have mandrake 8.2
I installed the kde 3.0.1 RPM's.
Everything was fine.
I have Three 'normal' (not root) users.
One of them has a problem in that when you are in
kmail 1.4, it will not save entries to the
addressbook. It just complains unable to save
addressbook.
The other Two
Matsonic MS8308 and PCchips M810LMR have sis730s chipset
with sis7018 audio circuit.
Mandrake 8.1 always detect the 7018 (irq11 shared with usb ports)
The bios is turned with PnP os ON
Others integrated circuits are working (video,lan,modem)
but no sound with 7018 and no error message
Is sound
mandrake to space on the end of the 40 gig
drive.

try man urpm. urpmi is a bit like apt-get for Debian, it will install your
application and any dependancies as well. I think all rpm tools just tell
you the dependancies, but urpmi will install the for you as well.
