the SB3 and either DAC. My
cd transport is a CEC TL-51X. My DAC's are a CIAudio VDA-2 and a Lavry
DA-10. I've tried many combinations of cables (both optical and co-ax).
The CEC always sounds better.

make a difference then most would seem to agree that jitter is the

The Benchmarks jitter reduction claims are apparently somewhat
overstated. The Lavry is apparently better at it.
The other option is something like the Emprical Oace-Car.

SB3 doesn't sound bad but after hearing the CEC I can't dismiss the
differences. It's easy to hear the differences with my current DAC. I
do believe that the higher jitter of the SB3 is responsible.

I am not saying the VDA-2 won't improve the sound of radio streams. It
probably will. But you can only get so good with lossy radio streams.
Just my opinion.

my entire cd collection to my computer

until it actually sounds as good to me as the CEC on my system. Maybe I
will try a different DAC in the future and have different results but
until then..

If the SB3 was as perfect as you say everyone would choose that route
yet some still prefer their traditional cd transports.

it up to the level of the CEC, I'll sell the CEC. Until then, I am
more than happy being old school and getting off my fat ass to change a
cd. The sound is worth it.
BTW. I'm sure the Linn Klimax DS sounds great. It should at $25,000.

BTW. Don't tell tyler about your experience. He thinks the RFI
produced by the wall wart is neither here nor there. According to
Tyler a little RFI is just as bad as alot of RFI.
