offer. I used it for the CCNP stuff (CLSC and BCRAN I think), only because

We ran into a similar problem on a recent project. I think the confusion
comes when you try to address the GigE ports of the L3 card as "switch
ports" instead of from the router configuration. When you try to SET TRUNK
2/1... only dot1q will show up. If you session into the L3 router, then

That's true. Of course, if a route flaps for any reason, you are going to be
using your WAN links for router updates, and not for the user apps.

What "lab" are you talking about?
If you just want to do an exercise in reverse telnet, you can do that with
any Cisco router that has an AUX port. The 2509/11 just gives you more ports
to try it on....

I passed about a month ago. The exam is not product intensive but more conceptual. You
should be familiar with both set based and
IOS based switch commands. Concentrate on the main points: VTP, Trunking, MLS, Vlans,
Multicasting, and definately STPyou'll do
fine.

are being done at remote locations, there probably wouldn't be a reason to
create VLANS.

Yes, I have both 1000Mb and 100Mb fiber links and 100 Mb UTP links as well,
to other vendors switches.
I just wish that the other vendors switches supported UDLD and BPDU's per
VLAN like Cisco does.
