I have a question regarding how to test an ISDN connection for a dialer
interface that is mapped to a loopback interface. I am used to dialer map
statements where I can ping the IP address that the dialer is mapped to, and
that brings up the ISDN link. The interface I want

I am afraid the dialer-hold queue will not wait 10 secs before dialing, it
just tells the router
to wait for the ISDN to come up, meanwhile hold the 20 packets for 10 sec,
if the ISDN does not come up within the timeout period, the router drops the
packets.

I am setting up a simple point to point ISDN BRI connection. It
works like a charm, but for the life of me, I cannot get the secondary B
chanell to come up. When I initiate a ping, it brings up the first B chanell
instantaneously, but it wont bring up the secondary.

Can anyone point me to any documents that go into detail about the major =
ISDN switch-types (5ESS, DMS-100, NI)? It does not matter whether they =
are online or in a book.
I have searched the web and CCO to no avail and, unfortunatley, I don't =
have a support contract w/ Lucent or Nortel
than any of the above, but leaves you with unlimited configurations for your
lab. When its time to do PRI, T1, etc. this unit is your man for the job.

A few months ago, another engineer and I bought a ISDN simulator from ARCA
Technologies. We decided upon ARCA mainly due to the fact that they have a
2 port BRI
simulator with

Also they can be switched to ADSL if required. Rest of the features are

included within the 10.0.0.0 /8 network of the central office.
