[newbie] Ogle DVD player volume

Here's an interesting question. I just received a USB Smart Card Reader for my credit card in the mail today. Does anyone know if these are compatible with Linux, and if so, how to go about using it? Would really hate to have to dual-boot into Window$ just to use the smart card reader.
