I want to install mandrake, or some version of linux on an old PC that
has a 500 MB hard drive (currently with windows 98), no network
connection, and no option in the BIOS to enable booting from the cdrom
drive. I want to be able to run at least Apache-Mysql-Php and word
processing. Any

If I can use Samba for that then what is LinNieghborhood used for?

I've burned 2 of the 5 ISOs and both produced this error.

As long as the directory where you installed the libraries is one of the
directories listed in /etc/ld.so.conf, running ldconfig should make the
libraries available. If not you can add it.

beta 3 installer looked and worked and was pleased to see that the MCC network setup
had been fixed for those of us w/ out DNS or default gateways, *but* xfce is so
borked in b3 - right mouse-button
installing from the mdk rpms, it will even show up on the
Mandrake 9.0 menu under Networking Remote Acess.
