It's not the Hello Kitty *guitar* of the guitar world, though. My boss was

[RBW] Cable Management (or) More Twine

2013-11-18 Thread Christopher Chen
Set up my light tonight.

Originally I was going to zip tie along the rack to the hub, but I didn't
have any small zip ties. I figured while I had the time and the twine I'd
teach myself the lost practice of cable lacing.

It doesn't look too bad.

[RBW] Re: Any Rivsters here commute more than 10 miles one-way? Cold weather tips?

2013-11-18 Thread David Bundrick
For many years I have had a 15 mile (each way) commute, year round, wet or
dry, cold or hot. Winter tips: reflectors can be as effective as lights.
You can never have too many reflectors on rider and bike. Lights rule. I
have a SON dyno hub powering front and rear lights. You can get a $35.00
marine emergency strobe that outperforms any bike specific strobe. I have
one facing rearward - a rear white light may not be legal, but it's
effective. Cold: Start off cold and you'll warm up soon. My hands and feet
are hardest to keep warm. If your pedals permit, sandals work really well
because there is plenty of room for layers of wool socks. You can also get
waterproof socks at REI. Otherwise, as many layers of wool socks as you can
get into your shoe. Heavy non-cycling winter gloves work best for me. And
if you're a guy, a square of material tucked into the front your shorts can
prevent painful frost bite. For rain I use and old Carradice rain poncho -
I'm waiting not-so-patiently for the new Riv rain jacket. Keep the rubber
side down!

[RBW] Hetres vs. Pari-Moto, your thoughts?

2013-11-18 Thread Jim Bronson
Any thoughts? I ended up with Pari Motos pretty much because I wanted some
other parts from Rivendell and they have free shipping on orders over
$150. Rivendell carries the Pari Motos but not the Hetres. So that
settled it.

Plus I hate to say it but the Hetres seem heavy to me for what they are
supposed to be...a light yet fat supple tire with low rolling resistance.

Meanwhile the Compass site derides the Pari Motos as "event tires". Well I
do plan on using them for brevets so I guess that counts :)

Anyone tried them both? Opinions on one versus the other?

Or just unsubstantiated opinions? Like those too :)

I'd like to thank Michael for posting this, i happened to be in London this
past weekend and stopped in on Sunday, the pictures on the blog are pretty
complete so no need for redundant ones, will add this one though.

http://flic.kr/p/hEwDGo

I talked to the guys at the shop, they were pretty excited that someone
walked in and they did not have to explain the point of the shop.
I spent 8 pounds on a magazine, and they were nice enough to give me 2 free
coasters, see pic here http://flic.kr/p/hEvkqW

I'm not sure how sustainable the shop is given the (low) amount of
merchandise, will post some thoughts later when i have some more time.

Re: [RBW] Re: The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread Robert Barr
To the OP I would respond that the Patagonia line has shifted a bit. The
Snap T used to be a slightly technical piece of midlayer insulation. That
niche now belongs to the regulator fleece. If you look on the website you
will see "regular fit" casual wear, and "slim fit" technical wear. From
what you wrote you would prefer the slim fit.

Re: [RBW] Re: Any Rivsters here commute more than 10 miles one-way? Cold weather tips?

2013-11-18 Thread Robert Barr
The synthetic vs natural fiber base layer argument makes the steel vs
carbon discussion look polite. It is not an area of compromise. Deacon and
I ride the same bike - I wear synthetic and he wears wool. We share the
same ancestral homeland and should share the same evolutionary drift - but
I itch if I get within 20 feet of the finest wool combed from young sheep
on the far side of the mountain. I have worn Patagonia capilene from its
inception and been consistently pleased with its performance. Good friends
wear the Patagonia wool line - but for us it is a don't ask and don't tell!
In addition to the itching I am by vocation and avocation frequently wet -
capilene works wonders when it is wet. I have new students try a t-shirt of
both fabrics and they quickly go one way or the other. Both products work
very well, just choose the one that feels best to you. Either one can keep
you warm and comfortable.

Moultons have an interesting and unusual feel, not like anything else

efficiency, what Jan said about the New Series is true for the AMs as

[RBW] Re: The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread George Schick
Now this is a rant with which I can definitely identify. A month or so ago
I went to a well known men's store to by a couple of pairs of dress slacks.
I wanted pleated and a size up from my "36" waist to accommodate my
late-middle-aged beer gut. Nothing available; not one pair. Further, the
"straight front" one's that I tried on fit so tightly that I had trouble
even sticking one leg in, not mention zipping them up. I asked the sales
clerk what was up with all of this sizing and style BS. He said that
they've had quite a few complaints from customers about exactly the same
thing recently, but that the fashion wizards have taken the clothing market
back to the mid-60's - high water pants (at or above the ankle), seriously
tapered, and straight front (picture the dress of the original Beatles band
from that time period) and there's nothing they can do about it. Well,
that's fine, I suppose, except where's the market they're trying to attract?

Further, I have found that the less expensive you buy, the smaller the
fit-per-size becomes. I bought some cheap T's from Kohl's this Summer to
use for general work around the house and biking. They fit so snug that I
had to take 'em back and exchange for several sizes larger to get ones that
were comfortable.

Just undo the shifter pods an move them onto the Alba's.
And you are gonna have to change the brake cables to MTB cables anyway to
match the MTB levers for the Albas.

Then, get a set of Albii and put 'em on after a month and see which you
like better.

I have tried drops, Albii, and staches on my Sam. I like drops the best. So
now I keep those on.

If you get the drops build on the Sam, the brake cables will be plenty long
enough for Alba's and the shifter cables will be just long enough with
Alba's all the way up, if the stock cables are installed like mine were.

It doesn't take a lot to switch to Alba's. Just the bars, Shimano Silver
MTB brake levers, MTB brake cables, and the NITTO shim for the smaller
diameter clamp bar of the Alba. All to be had on the riv site for purchase.
You can use the same housings if long enough, and you can wrap the bars
with bartape until you are ready to make them permanent with cork grips, or
whatever, later.
You will have to change the brake cables and will need to know how to set
the cables/brake adjustment up for that.

Just throw that stuff in your order when you buy the drop Sam and you will
be set for whenever you want to try them.
Just use the same stem for the Albas that came on the bike. Those stems are
expensive. Why buy a different one until you are sure the Alba's will be
permanent?

[RBW] Re: The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread ascpgh
Sometimes there is bleed over from the jobber's location and sizing, like
they make garments on their increments and convert them to US sizing once
done. Shoes do that notoriously, all last variances aside.

I was in Jackson, WY summer before last and in an effort to have the
clothing for the spectrum of conditions expected I tossed in an old
Synchilla Snap-T in the most horrific tennis ball yellow ("acid" in that
year's catalogue) my wife wore often and I had a full zip Marmot rough
fleece jacket with me. Folks called us out for those two garments every
day, each is over 25 years old. Once had a guy in a grocery check out line
tell me he bought the same Snap-T for his grand mom in the nursing home
because he was sure no one would steal it. Color palette attractiveness
changes as much as sizing, although much less objective as sizing.

Patrick Moore, who fits very nicely into the happy medium where
off-the-shelf clothing and shoes are easy to find in ABQ, NM and elsewhere.

Re: [RBW] The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread Jim Bronson
I don't think in the United States, that 145 lbs is typical for a 5'8"
person. Maybe for a fit cyclist, runner or other athlete, but not in the
general population.

Perhaps it says something to where we are as a country...

As for the bike fit and sizing, I like the more or less bars level with
seat, but Rivendell seems to be heading way beyond that to a super upright
position, bars above saddle as you say. Not really a fan of that but I
think Riv has a big enough tent to accommodate both the bars above seat
crowd and the bars level with seat crowd.

[RBW] Re: The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread Garth

Yes .. I take all "sizing guides" as jokes ... lol. Since I live in a
place with few retail shops, let alone what I'd call "good ones" ... I rely
on mail ordering . When I am interested in something, I call the
manufacturer and ask for "garment measurements " . These are the actual
physical measurements .

That said I do know Patagonia well also. And yes the great fit
and sizing of the 70's, 80's and early 90's is out the window. I don't
know who is running the company today ... but it is nowhere near the same.
They used to make the coolest cotton shirts and sweatshirts . I even found
one brand new I had stored away recently, from 1989 ! I still have many of
the printed catalogs from that time, my sister worked for a Patagonai
outlet store and she'd send us stuff . One shirt that has not changed is
the cotton Polo. I found a NOS one of those too(from 1989), in a wonderful
Raspberry color even ! When I bought some recently I was overjoyed that
they were exactly the same cut ! So they've not completely lost their way
... lol.The Snap-T's ... yeah .. a blanket with arms lol.
Thankfully though, other brands have caught up with them in the quality of
the fleece, so I choose other brands. Their lifetime warranty though, is by
far the best of anyone in existence and the model of which all are measured
against.

As far as bike fit , retail is always changing ... but in the custom steel
world time can stand still if you wish !

[RBW] Re: The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread Matthew J
Glad you posted this.

Sizing in active wear is plain bizarre lately.

At just under 6 foot tall and weighing in at around 160 lbs I am slightly
above average height and somewhat below average weight. I wear a 40R
sports coat, a 15.5 neck, 32-33 sleeve. My dress pants are 33 waist and 33
cuff. All of which, in my mind anyway, suggests I am about a medium.

Apparently many of the brands out there think differently. If I buy a
Filson shirt even in the new Seattle size I am a small. Outlier thinks I
am a large. Patagonia thinks I am a large. Ibex medium fit, but the
sleeves are too long. I recently bought a great rain coat from Search and
State. Medium did not fit. Large did not fit. I had to buy an extra
large. I know a lot of cyclists who are over 6 feet and weigh in close to
or above 200 lbs. They would not be able to wear any size from S&S.

Frustrating to say the least.

[RBW] Re: The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread sameness
Patagonia's been pretty notorious for changing their sizing and fit over
the last 10 years or so, sometimes even on the same item from season to
season.

Used to be that everything was designed with an active, athletic core user
in mind, and with a fit appropriate for the given activity.

Nowadays that same arctic-grade expedition shell will be far more likely
tasked with insulating a core full of crab legs and creme brulée on the
deck of a cruise ship, and so a Large becomes a whole 'nother kind of large.

Luckily their stuff lasts forever.

[RBW] The evolution of "sizing and fit"

2013-11-18 Thread jinxed
A couple weeks back my trusty Patagonia Snap-T Synchilla that's been with
me since college mysteriously "disappeared" at a coffee shop. Needless to
say, I was mad to lose such a long owned and well used piece of clothing.

Today, I go to check out what colors they come in now so I can make that my
one wish for the coming holiday season. Thankfully I find they still make
the Snap-T...BUT WTH happened to the cut and sizing?! When I pulled a
medium (same size I had) off the rack, I could not believe how HUGE it was!
I honestly assumed it was mislabeled. Then I looked at the small...it was a
bit smaller, but I realized it was the fit that had changed. It's like it
lost all shape and became a trash bag with holes in it. I realize baggy fit
was in for a while, but never really associated that with outdoor apparel.
So it seems I'll have to find an old one if I want the same thing. Ugh.

This got me thinking about cycling specific clothing and how (or if) it's
changed. For the most part the lycra set has remained unchanged...tight and
stretchy is tight and stretchy. But my interest was with styles closer to
and specifically Rivendell type items. I noticed a couple of the new
clothing items have specifically undergone a "slimming" recently and
mentioned as requested. Not that I saw any of their clothes as baggy per
say, but more relaxed. I'm fairly normal 5'8" @ 145lbs so I tend to skirt
the small/medium in the MUSA range depending on cut. SO for me a slimmer
cut is fine and will most likely fit as intended. But then I know some of
the older wool jerseys were more traditionally form fitting. My medium
Seersucker fits a little loose in the body, but the collar and sleeves are
spot on. Same with the Railroad shirt. Interestingly I have a couple pair
of old MUSA shorts in size XL! that work fine on my 32 waist. Weird.

I've been biking since about 88 and realized that aside from the lycra, all
my casual cycling gear has been purchased based on the same fit. Room
enough to move, but never baggy. That has worked no matter what type of
riding I'm doing.

All that brought me to thinking about bike fit and sizing too. There has
been lots of discussion on the RBW vs. conventional types of fitting and
it's probably safe that if you're here you at least in part agree with the
former. But then it seems RBW fitting has evolved over time too. Looking at
the first All Rounder it was clearly not a bars above the saddle fit. The
head tubes got taller, then up sloping top tubes, and newly designed bars
to go even higher. I wonder if it will keep going up?

Do you find yourself wishing that a certain era of "fit" had frozen in time
or do you tend to like the evolving nature of it? Like my Patagonia fleece,
I'm disappointed they changed it as it seemed like a perfect design to ME.
But then I'm very happy that the fatter tire revolution seems to be gaining
steam.

I think it's that the thinline pads were first introduced for V brakes,
and after they became popular newer brakes like the Paul Racer & Touring
Canti were designed to use it rather than the smooth post "Mafac-style"
traditional canti pad. But even with Mafac pads, they used the same
smooth post pad on their cantilever brakes and on the Racer & Raid
centerpulls, but you'll see no mention of that use on a package of Eagle
Klaw smooth post pads.

My Atlantis has Davinci cable splitters on the shift cables. With 8 speed
Shimano indexed bar ends there is no adjustment needed. However, I put
them on to make the bike easier to disassemble for shipping. I think you'd
have to be careful at set-up to use them for quick change of handlebars.
Mine are along the shift cables between the DT stops and the BB. Might
need DT cable stops on both sets of h'bars.

For switch-ability of cockpits, shifter cable splitters need to be installed. A
good location is between the downtube and the bb cable guide for both front and
back. Alternatively, the rear shifter cable can be split between the bb cable
guide and chainstay rear derailleur boss. For brakes, there are various options
to ponder. I did this about 11 years ago (can't believe it's been so long!) and
have the PDF of the blog post saved. Don't know if it helps but here it is.

Re: [RBW] Re: Waitin' on my Riv--debating on Drops versus Albatross

2013-11-18 Thread Patrick Moore
Thanks, Shoji. This will work only if the swap is mindless and immediate: I
am an immediate gratification sort of person.

I'd want to be able to disconnect 4 cables quickly, remove stem, plop new
stem/bar on the steerer (...ER...ER...ER), tighten, reconnect, and motor
off into the sunset.

2013-11-18 Thread Shoji Takahashi
If you use bar-end shifters, and you're switching to/from bars that
accommodate, then you can do so without needing cable splitters or even
additional bar ends. Here's a tutorial (not mine-- I used this to move from
moustache to albatross):
http://www.tamiasoutside.com/2008/08/24/barcons/

I think some versions of thumbies, can be moved from handlebar to handlebar
without problems... but some can't.

If your bike has canti brakes, then buy an extra set of straddle hangers.

BTW: there are locking spacers. Problem Solvers makes them. I think they
also make locking cable hanger/spacers.

Re: [RBW] Re: Waitin' on my Riv--debating on Drops versus Albatross

2013-11-18 Thread Patrick Moore
I'm curious about this too for my Fargo, so I'll chime in. It would be nice
to make the Fargo more switchback competent with fatter and sturdier tires,
bigger cassette, and other-than-drop bar. Swapping tires and cassette is
easy. It's the bar that takes time.

First, it would be a matter of swapping out stems as well as bars -- I'd
need something longer for a mtb or even say the Dove bar or Albatross
(though I am thinking that a new moustache bar might work too, and might
work with the stem I have which is slightly higher than saddle -- have been
wanting to try this new model.

If this is not to mean re-adjusting the headset bearings, I'd need some
sort of locknut spacer -- are these available?

Second: do cable splitters affect the precision of shifting the rd? I'm
shifting 9 with Silver bar end shifters, so any additional drag on the
cable will not be welcome. I'd use BES with an Albastache or thumbies with
an upright bar.

Lastly: Albatross or Dove or Albastache (hope springs eternal) for
technical stuff ... ? Will any of these work?

Re: [RBW] Re: Once you go Riv can you ever go back?

2013-11-18 Thread Mike
Hey Hugh, I've ton many 80+ mile days in MUSA and Chrome shorts with
ExOfficio underwear with no issues. Oh, and the saddle is a B17. I think
body type and position can have a lot to do with what works. It sounds like
you've also gone to platform pedals? Hope you're using the VPs, I love mine.

And Mike W., I'll likely put the Albas on my Hilsen. While I hate dealin
with re-cabling the brakes and shifters, it's really not that hard. Finding
the time between attending to my newborn daughter and my mom's illness is
really the barrier. Hell, I haven't even sat down to look at the new Riv
catalog. There's just not enough time.

It sure was great to get out for a 4hr ride yesterday with everything
that's been going on. After Feb I should be able to get out biweekly for a
ride in the 4 to 5hr range along with shorter weekly rambles.

[RBW] Re: Koolstop ThinLine question.

2013-11-18 Thread Jeremy Till
The type of pad with a threaded stud, spacers, and spherical washers that
clamps a vertical track on the brake arm was originally introduced on
V-brakes, so these pads are commonly referred to as "v-brake style" pads
now, even when they are used on other brakes, which may account for the
confusing description on Paul's site. There is nothing which makes these
pads canti or v-brake specific (i.e. any "v-brake" pad would also work in a
centerpull cantilever brake that uses the same hardware and vice versa).
Paul also uses them on their caliper brakes.

Prior to the introduction of v-brakes, most cantilever brakes used pads
with a smooth (i.e. unthreaded) stud that was clamped by an eyebolt through
the brake arm at 90 deg to the stud, and some current production brakes
based on older designs still use this old style (not Paul's, however).

IMHO, the switch to the threaded stud pads on cantilever brakes accounts
for a vast improvement in ease of adjustment over their older
counterparts. Smooth stud cantis are a PITA.

Re: [RBW] Re: Once you go Riv can you ever go back?

2013-11-18 Thread Hugh Smitham
Mike,

I have some Ibex shirts and I like them okay...I'm sure I'll wear them now
that the weather is cooling down some, I wish I bought a size larger
though. So far I have found that my Patagucci long sleeve gone again shirt
is ideal it dries super quick ventilates awesome and I can cover up my arms
either when it's cool or the sun is too intense.
http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/mens-long-sleeved-gone-again-shirt?p=54110-0
I
have two MUSA wool t shirts that I find great either by them selves or as a
base layer. I also have a long sleeve wool jersey but down here in SoCal it
always feels overkill other then early Spring.

On miles above thirty I still need to experiment with saddle comfort as I'm
just wearing the wool boxer briefs and am really comfortable, this past
weekend I felt I could do fifty with no problems on a spirited ride.

I think it all comes down to what works for the individual. As for me I'm
still working it out, in the Spring I plan on picking up another LS shirt
like the gone again just to rotate.

Best,

~Hugh

A blustery, but wonderfully clear Portland morning made for a nice climb up

Sorry I've been remiss in reporting each ride, but I think they've been
going great, and I encourage you to get sneaky, get on the saddle, and get
some quiet outside time.

Re: [RBW] Waitin' on my Riv--debating on Drops versus Albatross

Just for another opinion, I switched from the Midge to a 44 cm rando (B135)
on the Fargo and was very surprised to find that the Nittos are just about
(not exactly quite) perfect for my type of riding.

I found the Midge better than most of the other off road drop bars, though.

Someone on this or the iBob list was looking for a GB Rando bar

[RBW] Re: Once you go Riv can you ever go back?

2013-11-18 Thread Mike Schiller
There is a middle ground. There are some nicely fitting wool shorts and
jerseys that are made. A little looser fit and no flashy ads or colors. I
prefer this kind of gear for more strenuous rides. Ibex, Ground Effect and
others make some good quality stuff, made in the US or from the wool
source.

On tour, or on more casual rides, some baggies and a looser shirt are
great for the mixed social situations and more "relaxed" pace.

Re: [RBW] Re: Any Rivsters here commute more than 10 miles one-way? Cold weather tips?

2013-11-18 Thread Patrick Moore
Not trapping sweat -- some synthetics are designed to wick it and, AFAIK,
may do that better than wool. But wool insulates even when wet and perhaps
that is the reason it doesn't feel clammy when you stop.

Now stinking is another big problem in addition. I use synthetics only in
summer (and not often then) but, even starting out clean as a baby, I am
very anxious among other people (say, when running errands) about the stink
that will inevitably arise after just an hour or so of sweating.

I still wish someone made an all cotton cycling jersey -- I have one but it
was made long ago. (Even cotton stinks more than wool, but not nearly as
quickly and as bad as the synthetics I know of.)

[RBW] November on the beach

2013-11-18 Thread LBleriot
The temps on Long Island touched 60 degree yesterday, So, I grabbed the
Riv'd up Soma San Marcos and met a few non-Riv friends for a ride to
Huntington Harbor on the north shore. One of the gang knew the twisty
route down to a private beach (moral indignation) with great views of toney
Lloyd Harbor, the harbor lighthouse and the Sound. There was no wind to
speak of and most of the boats have been taken out of the water. After a
spin back around the harbor, I left my friends to continue their late
afternoon ride on the Long Island Sound, and I headed home. All in all, a
great ride. Thanks for reading.http://www.flickr.com/photos/93346526@N07/

Bars from Compass/Bicycle Quarterly to the One-on-One Midge bar. I know this is
a rather unusual choice for the Rivers but so far so good( approx. 300km on

For me they have as many diff hand positions as the GB's and are wider in the

No matter what the choice. I expect you'll love the ride

Cashmere - better yet, Vicuna if you can afford it - are both animal fur
more comfortable to wear than any synthetic or cotton. Be aware buying
cashmere though. Huge Chinese goat farms are contributing to
desertification. Mongolia does a much better job with its animal husbandry.

[RBW] The intriguing dilemma of having to ride...

2013-11-18 Thread Deacon Patrick
Fortunately, this one won’t make sense to most of you. That’s a good thing.
Pray it never really does.

We learned that the construction on the flooded out bridge and dredging of the
late near our house will continue to Thanksgiving, so I have 8 business days in
which I need to escape the sound from 8am-5pm brain and weather permitting.

I am blessed that today I get both a happy brain and good weather (sunny, high
in the 40’s on Pikes Peak). But it is an intriguing exercise on attitude and
countenance when one HAS to leave from home. I get to do what I love doing, but
HAVING to do it is something else entirely. Focus on the gifts, rather than
dwelling on the pain — I get to put that to use in a whole other way!

Then we’re trying to figure out January and February, when the parking lot
across the creek will be torn up and the flooded out drainage system beneath
replaced. Hm. Trying to figure out how to afford a two month trip south
(remote camping is the best option for me to avoid the noises that blow up my
brain).

Two years ago, when I needed to escape town for noise (generally in the summer
for concerts at the park across the creek) I had no bike and did not ride one.
So the Hunqapillar has opened up amazing gift and opportunity these past 18
months.

Thanks for letting me vent!

With abandon,
Patrick

[RBW] Re: Rivendell Not about the bikes

2013-11-18 Thread John L
All the pictures from my week in the Bay Area failed to turn out for one
reason or other (cough, operator error, for the most part) so I can't prove
it happened. But I also got out to BBH, got to chat a bit with Grant and
Keven as well as some of the neighbors, and then took the shop's 62cm
Hunqapillar for wonderful quick loop around Shell Ridge. Grant started by
talking about directions, then offered to lead me to Shell Ridge, and then
couldn't resist the ride itself. His enthusiasm for the bikes (and
hatchets, and books, and clothes), the area, and the simple pleasure of 30
minutes spent knocking about in the local park when the opportunity to
arises was infectious. Agreed 100% on being honest and real; it was the
shortest ride of my four days there, but the nicest and most fun.

And now I must have a Hunqapillar.

Hi David,
The link clicking on today's installment really shows the blogger's colors.
He apparently believes there should be criminal prosecution when a
motorist has a wreck with a cyclist. There is no criminal prosecution when
a motorist kills another motorist - by accident, by definition - unless the
offending motorist happens to be in the process of a felony or DUI.
Otherwise, it's strictly a civil matter, for which we have a system in
place, and employ 90% of the world's attorneys. The guy is
me--me-me-rabid. Clearly, no other points of view exist for him.

Not a single Rivendell employee has made any comment on the proposed
National Jamboree.
Not a single Rivendell employee has made any comment on a Twentieth
Anniversary Shindig.

I think the Riv folk have something up their sleeveses.

I had proposed multiple rallies but was clearly shot down. Yet there
can be only one "National Jamboree" so the logical spot in my opinion is
Rivendell world headquarters and the surrounding area. It appeared to be
leading in the poll system as well although again in my opinion it was
setup in a flawed manner. Regardless someone with local ties (host)
 should
select the official weekend, inquire if Grant and company wish to play any
additional role, and create a committee to pull off this wonderful
undertaking. As a Michigander who has been dreaming of a visit this will
likely be the occasion that motivates me to act. Enough debate.time
for one or more to take action.

2013-11-18 Thread Philip Williamson
That's not quite topic drift so much as skidding a thread sideways into the
grave.
