It means that if you got an allocation from arin of say a /24, /23,
etc. That its the least likely space to be routable. Back in the
day,
ARIN would allocate a /24 to just about anyone on the net with a
presense..this space is not part of any provider aggregate, and
its
the least likely to be routable.

Hi Folks,

I have recently purchased a Catalyst 6509 to replace
one of my Catalyst 5000's. I've noticed that you have
the choice to run CatOS 5.x as usual or convert the
whole switch over to IOS 12.x. I've also been buying
some of the new Catalyst 3548-XL's and they too
run the IOS 12.x image's. My question to the group
is: what would be the advantages/disadvantages of
either software?

Thanks,

Re: WS-F5521 or WS-X5530-E2

2000-09-28 Thread Peter Simmons

Rick,

the WS-F5521 is a "spare" Netflow Feature Card
(NFFC), the WS-X5530-E2 is a Supervisor III module with a NFFC  and a spare
uplink slot.

Physically, the WS-F5521 fits on the SUP III as
a daughterboard.

Hope that helps.

Could someone please explain to me the
difference between these to cards.

WS-F5521 and WS-X5530-E2
I looked on Cisco's web site but still can't get a clear picture of what
the difference is. They both seem to be supervisor card with NFFC, but the
WS-F5521 card is alot less expensive. Why should I by the WS-X5530-E2 when
the other is less then half the price.
Thanks.

RE: Back to Back

2000-09-28 Thread McCallum, Robert

Ill try a shot in the dark (the most commonest faults). Did you place your
clock rate on the wrong router? You have to put the clock rate on the DCE
end of the cable. You can check this by doing show controllers or indeed
just reading the cable ends.

Hope this helps. If it doesnt do as Jenny stated.

Re: Back to Back

Hi,

If the routers are connected directly, rather than via a hub or other means,
then you'll need a cross over cable.

Hope it works for you.

Neil.

Details! Are you using WICs and if so which ones, external CSUs, or a
back-to-back cable?

Could you post configs?

What does "show interface" reveal?

> Please anybody that can help

It's better (at least for me) if you spend a bit more time filling in the
details in the first post to the list, instead of a generic "this doesn't
work" type of posting. In many cases you'll find that in the process of
gathering enough information to describe the problem in detail, you'll find
the solution yourself.

At a minimum, a "show running-config" and "show interface" for both
routers would be a good start. "show version" is nice to have as well.

>From the limited information you supplied, I'd look for:

Clocking applied to DCE side (or one WIC)

Proper cable, with DCE where you want it (proper crossover if CSU/WIC)

"no shutdown" on interfaces in question

Encapsulation, address, and mask configuration consistency.

try looking on the cisco site for the 2600 and the ios you re running, make

Dial-in user assigned duplicate IP addresses

2000-09-28 Thread Donohue, Steve

Good morning
gang,

I am currently using
a 3640 to allow remote users to dial-in to our LAN.  They are receiving
their IP address information from a DHCP server, as opposed to an IP pool on the
router.  This appears to work fine for about a week at a time, then users
start to receive duplicate addresses.

The 3640 is running
12.1(3a).  The Mica modems' portware is version 2.5.1.

Has anyone out there
seen this type of behavior before?  Can anyone point me in the direction of
a resolution?

Any help/comments
would be appreciated.

Thanks in
advance.

Hello Gem,

1) They transmit using multicast address addigned to "all bridges on the
lan" on multicast-enabled LANs; for 802.5 a special functional address is
used..

2) Oops.. the root bridge is only one (like the Highlander) in the
spanning tree; but there is a designated bridge for every lan in the
spanning tree..
I recommend you to read Radia Perlman's book (Interconnections), it is
relly good..

Hope this helps,

Yes, I have both 1000Mb and 100Mb fiber links and 100 Mb UTP links as well,
to other vendors switches.

I just wish that the other vendors switches supported UDLD and BPDU's per
VLAN like Cisco does.

Re: Configure PVC

2000-09-28 Thread Iohan Reyes

HmmmI am not sure why cbr isn't one of the choices, but maybe it's
missing because of that specific version of IOS doesn't support it. Try a
different version maybe?

The first address puts an IP address on the sub-interface. The second
address tells the PVC the IP address of the other side of the virtual
circuit. Kind of like a dialer-map.

In reality, cbr is usually used for voice or video. If you're doing IP,
vbr-nrt will do just fine.

RE: RADB - BGP routing

2000-09-28 Thread Spolidoro, Guilherme

If APNIC gave you only a single class C, yes.

The bottow line is: you need to follow the APNIC rules. If they assigned a
class C to you is because their current rules for that class C range is to
assign on a /24 manner. Most likely they have other blocks of class C that
they assign on CIDR mode.

Does it help?

It means that if you got an allocation from arin of say a /24, /23,
etc. That its the least likely space to be routable. Back in the
day,
ARIN would allocate a /24 to just about anyone on the net with a
presense..this space is not part of any provider aggregate, and
its
the least likely to be routable.

Some possibilities...
Wrong cable? Dud cable? Interface shut down on one or both routers?
Non-matching encapsulation? Incorrect IP (or other routed protocol)
configuration? Forgot to power up a router :-)?
There's a lot of things that could be wrong, so a little more information
would
be useful.
'no success' means what? Can't ping across the link, or the interface
doesn't
show as up/line protocol up?

If you post your configs and 'show int' of the relevant interfaces, we
might
have a little more chance of providing likely solutions, rather than shots
in
the dark.

VLSM and Route Summaries

2000-09-28 Thread AUX0

Can we use route summarization on a PIX firewall?
We want to define 10.0.32.0/24 - 10.0.62.0/24 routes as a single 10.0.32.0/19
both in the route table and an access-list. Is this appropriate on the PIX? What
about on routers using static routing?

RE: Easing Internet backbone traffic..thoughts..!

2000-09-28 Thread Spolidoro, Guilherme

Nigel, InterNAP likes to make a lot of noise on an old concept. Other
companies such as SAVVIS already used this concept, although InterNAP says
that they measure the delays, reliability and maybe a few other things in
order to change their BGP/routing policy.

They definetly have an interesting offering, but on my humble opinion, it
fits very well for Content Providers.

It might be worth to mention that since they don't own the backbone, they
cannot offer SLAs for maximum delay, packet loss or availability on the
backbone. So, if you're a company thinking about deploying an Intra-company
VPN solution (e.g. a replacement for frame relay circuits), I would look for
another ISP that can offer the SLAs described above.

this could be a solution to the Internet routing problem seeing the current

I cannot seem to get an Etherchannel connection between these two

When I group two ports on each switch and then connect the additional
ethernet cable the devices cannot communicate. The switches show that the
ports are up, but the devices cannot communicate over the link. I cannot
figure out the problem.

Thanks,

Sounds like a creative way to optimize traffic forwarding on the Internet.
Seems a bit like MPLS, but more real-time.

Locating the company in Seattle is probably a good idea. Not only is Amazon
in Seattle, but maybe they'll get Microsoft as a customer too?

Hopefully some of the gurus will comment also. Thanks for telling us about

RE: LAYER 3 SWITCHING

2000-09-28 Thread Fowler, Joey
Title: RE: LAYER 3 SWITCHING

Well here are my answers, I wager $700.00 of Jeopardy money.

1. Layer 3 switching is actually routing. It is designed for high speed routing however.

2. For the answer to this question remember your encapsulation from CCNA - Data->segments->packets->frames->bits and back the other way for receiving. So switch would use frames, whereas a layer 3 switch which is really a router, would switch packets. If this is incorrect feel free to let me know.

3. And I just plain don't know without looking anything up on this on.

1. What does the process Layer 3 switching refer to?

2. Is it packets or frames being switched out of interfaces or ports?

3. Using the 2948G-L3 as an example, how is the switching determined - by
Routing table or CAM table?

All help is appreciated.

RE: Migrating from EIGRP to OSPF - Bad News!

2000-09-28 Thread Lauren_Dygowski

It might be helpful to know that with later IOSs, you can cause OSPF
to advertise loopbacks with their configured mask instead of as a host route
if you add the command ip ospf network point-to-point under the loopback
interface configuration. With ip ospf network point-to-point, the /32 will not
longer be advertised and the loopback will not be treated as a stub network.
Not sure why anyone
would use something besides /32 for a loopback in production, but this feature
does work well for lab scenarios when you are trying to simulate larger subnets
via loopbacks.

Re: personal firewall

2000-09-28 Thread Chuck Church

In picking out a hardware firewall, make sure it supports DHCP on the
external side. Most cable and DSL providers use DHCP. You could hardcode
the DHCP-given address on a firewall, but when the lease is up, your
firewall won't respond to the re-lease requests. Your current address will
be given out to someone else, causing a conflict and really annoying your
ISP. Best bet is to get a static address from the ISP. Also, Cisco has a
new PIX - the 506 which is targeted for SOHO.

My first thought would be Recurrent Technologies in Santa Clara CA - they
sell refurbished Cisco/Sun/SGI equipment - maybe they'll do the refurbish

reasonable price, and despite a bit of lag regarding getting a software

Re: strange scenario

2000-09-28 Thread Ejay Hire

Increase the size of your ping packets to ~1400 Bytes. If you get the high
latency again, from the diagram you can see it is in the Last hop, the
connection from the destinatio to it's ISP. What could be causing it? A
slow link, A fast link with a high serialization delay, firewall software,
overloaded processor, excessive collisions on the output interface of the
router, ...

It would be more helpful to know:
A. What types of links are in Place.
B. The config of the destination router
C. The "show interfaces" of the destination router

Hope that helps,

The root bridge is also the designated bridge for each lan connected to
it, since the designated bridge is defined as the bridge which is closest
to the root bridge in a given LAN. (does this does make sense!?!?!?).

This is a little more complex in case multiple ports of the root brisge
are connected to the same lan... but that's a pathological case: instead
of "designated bridges" you can think of "designated ports"..

I honestly can't remember. I'm a contractor, and that was a couple of jobs

me.

Sorry I can't remember, I would try to dial-in and find out, but I
personally closed my account on the last day I worked there.

Hope that Helps,

I have discovered that there is actually a bug in the software I am using.
(Bug Id: CSCds06953) What version of software have you gone to? What
version of software are you running on your modems?

Thanks.

I've had a similar problem with an AS5300. UPgrading the IOS fixed it. As
an interim solution, using the "ip dhcp pool xxx" on the router also worked.

Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2000 05:59:42 -0400

Good morning gang,

I am currently using a 3640 to allow remote users to dial-in to our LAN.
They are receiving their IP address information from a DHCP server, as
opposed to an IP pool on the router. This appears to work fine for about a
week at a time, then users start to receive duplicate addresses.

The 3640 is running 12.1(3a). The Mica modems' portware is version 2.5.1.

Has anyone out there seen this type of behavior before? Can anyone point me
in the direction of a resolution?

Any help/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Trace results - what does this indicate?

2000-09-28 Thread Ejay Hire

You have a routing loop. This is a Bad thing.

Can be caused by:
1. Improper Route Redistribution
2. Drunk SysAdmins
3. Tiny Elves with evil intentions
4. A (non-permanent) static route that has gone down on a router that has a
default route set. (This one is sneaky) (So that's what the "permanent"
keyword does at the end of a static route...)
5. (On the internet) Improper AS_Path filtering in BGP.

Reccomendations:
1. "Show Ip route" on both routers and look at the administrative distances
of the looping routes.
2. Look for Less specific, but correct routes to the correct destination
hosts.
3. Look up the Admin distances to find the offending routing protocols.
4. If you are doing redistribution, use a distribute list to remove the
loop.
5. If you are using static routes, make them permanent
6. Get a ACME Evil Elf Trap..
7. Equip your router Console,Aux, and VTY ports with a Drunk SysAdmin
detector.

Re: CCIEBootCamp Labs

2000-09-28 Thread Dale Holmes

Don't waste time - buy them today! Nobody else (and I mean NOBODY) has lab
scenarios that approach the level of complexity of the CCBOOTCAMP labs. Many
issues don't come up until you build an internetwork that is running lots of
protocols simultaneously. This is what you will do in the real lab exam (I
know, I've been there...), and it is also what you will do in the CCBOOTCAMP
labs.

Trust me, 3:00 on day one of your real lab exam is no time to realize that
you have never run X and Y and Z together at the same time... the Cisco Doc
CD will not be able to bail you out at that point.

RE: RADB - BGP routing

2000-09-28 Thread Howard C. Berkowitz

Being assigned PI space does NOT guarantee global routability. See RFC 2050.

In the real world, prefixes shorter than /21 will probably be
globally routable. Indeed, /24 may very well be routable. Hint: do
NOT call a /24 a Class C. Registries and providers get very
suspicious of addressing plans
in which everything falls on a /24 or /16 boundary.

But the address registries -- APNIC, RIPE NCC, and ARIN -- do not
control what prefix length filters are implemented by providers. No
organization guarantees global reachability, because no organization
controls global routing.

Incidentally, the registries may differ in other policies. RIPE NCC
now requires that you must register your routing policies before
being assigned an AS.

It's not even as simple as length. Some filter policies are on the
NANOG web page. A given carrier, for example, may permit a /24 from
the 192/8 "traditional" or "swamp" space, but not permit a /24 from
more recently assigned blocks for which people are expected to know
about CIDR.

Unfortunately, a lot of this real-world global routing conventions
are not well documented. My understanding of them began with
RIPE-181, which was superceded by RPSL. That simply taught me the
language. A good working knowledge comes from daily reading of

Hi

I am think you are asking if the written test expires... if so yes it does.
I have to attempt the lab within one year of passing the written. If you do
not attempt the lab within one year, you have to retake the written.

Where to load IOS when Cisco router booting?

2000-09-28 Thread Gem

I am somewhat confusing about the sequence of IOS loading,
Normally, it's ok to boot system from flash memory,
but if failed, what's the next one, the ios in rom?
Under what cases it load IOS from network?

When adds _boot_system_flash_slot:ooxx_ etc, what's happened?
If it failed, what will be the next candidate?
In this case, it seems *Router* reads configuration file before
loading IOS, does it?

Thanks for Saverio's answer and let me have a nice dream, but not now.

CCIE design

2000-09-28 Thread McCallum, Robert

Hi people,

I have became totally insane and have booked myself on the CCIE design
written exam on the 27th October. Why? I have no idea. Anyhow do any of
you have any ideas, tips on what to expect in this exam. I have of course
downloaded the Cisco exam list and have read most of the books, although
still some areas which need sorting out (Voice and SNA). Is this exam
written in the same fashion as the CID (if so I think a rope might come in
handy). Any help / insight would be appreciated. I am becoming
increasingly more nervous as each day passes. The thought of the unknown
being the worst thing.

Cheers.

Re: Easing Internet backbone traffic..thoughts..!

Ejay Hire wrote,

>It kind of violates the way it's supposed to work though. If

How do you see the existing backbone as free/mostly free? A good
working definition of a "tier 1 provider" is one that learns all its
routes through bilateral peering arrangements, and does not buy
transit from anyone or default to anyone. Incidentally, these
peerings are rarely through the shared fabric at exchange points, but
are on private media.

Lower in the food chain, even major regional providers buy transit
services from national and international tier 1 providers. Think of
transit services as the right to default to the higher-level
provider, and to receive full or partial routes from the provider.

The problem that InterNAP and others are trying to solve is that a
lower-level ISP or enterprise may go through several intermediate
service providers to reach tier 1. Connecting to InterNAP, in
principle, gives more predictable service. I know some of the
engineers there and regard them as extremely clueful.

Of course, the benefits of "clean" paths to tier 1's are most obvious
on long-haul circuits. Especially in more remote areas, it still can
be quite beneficial to have local exchange points, so a dialup
customer can get to the local pizza web site or the town library
without having to cross a continent to get to a major exchange.

In other words, global routing is still something where you need to
understand the big picture, or involve someone who does.

RE: PRI vs T1

Actually they are both one and the same. The coding in the way the T1 is
setup at the CO makes it viable to be used as a T1. Both provides 1.544mbs
bandwidth. The test is wrong unless it gears towards voice technology.

Gig fiber questions

2000-09-28 Thread Ben Hockenhull

Folks,

A few days ago, someone mentioned that there might be an issue when you
try to connect cisco and noncisco switches together via GBIC. Can anyone
verify this, and give some details? I'm expecting to connect some HP
ProCurve switches and Catalysts together via gig over fiber real soon now,
GBIC on the Cat, HP's Fiber gig module on the HP, and want to know what
to expect.

Also, can anyone explain what the LX conditioning cables do? Best I can
tell, they consist of a singlemode and a multimode strand, fusion spliced
together. The singlemode end goes into the GBIC, the multimode end into
your MM fiber plant. I suppose that you end up sending a singlemode
wavelength down a multimode fiber? I also suppose that this means lasers
in the GBIC, so no looking at the pretty lights to verify TX like you can
with MM.

Re: personal firewall

2000-09-28 Thread Ed Moss

LinkSys has some good basic products that are priced around $110 and $170.
Like I said, these are basic and dont provide features like stateful packet
inspection, filters based on TCP/UDP, etc. I also believe they have a limit
of something like 10 ports active per connection unless you do a
passthrough, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the firewall.

Watchguard also makes a product that I think is better, but it costs about
$370. It provides both NAT and PAT, and you can filter based on
source/destination addresses and port numbers. The first year of "managed
security" is also provided... although giving up control has overtones of
Big Brother but hey... its a service for people that dont know
firewalls. They also offer web filtering with the product with like 14
different categories... good if you have kids that use the net.

OT:hat is F2 cable

Ok.. I pretty much understand how DSL works but my recent efforts to order
it have been how can I say.. frustrating. A order that I placed 3 months

of you guys with Telcom/DSL experience know exactly what this cable is and
how does it relate to DSL service? It would be nice to know if this is a
Telco problem or if it's a service Provider problem.

Re: Question about ISL and 802.1Q encapsulation

2000-09-28 Thread srclevenger

Frank,

Thanks for the explaination. That does help with the vlan issues. I also did
some more spelunking and found this at the Cisco site.

The following caveats have been resolved in Release 12.0(5.2)XU:

The software now supports frames larger than 1518 bytes. (CSCdr70758)

So maybe I was right in the fact that there might have been a code issue as
well???

Thanks,

Steve Clevenger

You'll need a feature set with IPSEC 56 encryption.

Your image name should contain a 56 in it, for example

Re: Quick question about pre-req for CCNP

2000-09-28 Thread Luke Everett

No, you don't need a CCNA 2.0 to be certified as a CCNP 2.0. It is
dependant on the CCNP exams that you take/have taken. If you haven't even
started the CCNP, then it is impossible now to get certified as CCNP 1.0.

Re: ospf bandwidth question

2000-09-28 Thread Ejay Hire

If you don't have the information that OSPF uses to calculate it's metrics
set properly, then OSPF may be overutilizing this link when other paths are
available.

With that said, are you getting a lot of CRC errors? CRC errors are not
normal, and may indicate a problem with your CSU/DSU, or the quality of the
local loop.

BECN's and FECN's are indicators that the frame cloud you are connecting to
is experiencing congestion. It could be oversubscribed, or you may be
pushing more traffic that it can handle. If you are staying within your
CIR, then you may want to ask your Frame service provider to reroute your
PVC's. If you are regularly exceeding your CIR, you may want to add more
bandwidth or look into prioritization/filtering.

Lastly, research Traffic shaping on www.cisco.com. On reciept of a FECN,
the sender is supposed to slow down by ~25%, and gradually increase speed
until it finds a balance. By default, this isn't enabled on Cisco routers.

Good Luck

Re: Easing Internet backbone traffic..thoughts..!

2000-09-28 Thread Erick B.

I looked at that article, and it sounds kind of like a
old approach to a new problem. Go to X company who has
access to everything and you'll be set.

In the long term, it's going to cost lots of $ to
maintain a connection to every backbone ISP and
associated costs with each of those connections. I
don't know what they charge their customers, but for
local companies it may be cheaper in the long term to
run fiber and connect directly to their network
perhaps.

configuration makes it a PRI. Let me have your source that tells you

RE: PRI vs T1

2000-09-28 Thread Edward Watson

PRI has 23B+1D. T1 (also called a "channalized" T1) has 24 B-channels.
Therefore, you have a 64k bandwidth difference. The book is correct because
only T1 has 1.544MB (usable) bandwidth.

Both use a T1 circuit. The difference can be important if you're using the
circuit for dial-up modem users. If you have 48 modems in an AS5300 with
two PRIs for the dial-up, only 46 modems can be used concurrently. If you
have two T1s, all 48 modems can be used concurrently.

with my experience, a pri denotes primare rate interface referring to frame
relay and is not specific to a particular pipe size. A T1 is a 1.5 Mb PRI.
You can have a 64k PRI

The CCIE Design exam is probably the most difficult written exam that Cisco

Look here (and search for F2):

A friend of mine had his car in for service, and when he got it back, the
invoice said that they had changed the carburetor. The only problem with
that was that it was a diesel engine :-)

Ah.. the old "bad equipment" ruse!

I see a bit of this myself. Customers order drop ship because they don't
want to pay for professional services. They can't get it to work. Therefore
the equipment is bad. The only way to prove otherwise is to configure it
correctly. Voila - free services

Glad you were able to use your skills to save everyone a of trouble.

Ok.. I pretty much understand how DSL works but my recent efforts to order
it have been how can I say.. frustrating. A order that I placed 3 months
ago was cancled because of bad F2 cable. This is a new term to me. Do any
of you guys with Telcom/DSL experience know exactly what this cable is and
how does it relate to DSL service? It would be nice to know if this is a
Telco problem or if it's a service Provider problem.

Thanks,

Keith

I think the way it works is that you have to make your first lab attempt
within one year of taking the written - you then have three years to
pass the lab.

Check on cisco's web site for info - I think it was in the "scheduling
the lab exam section" of www.cisco.com/go/ccie

Voice/ATM/Network-Management/SNA-IP Specification subjects will be
useful, and CSE Enterprise/SMB/AVVID also help you to conquer it.
About broadband technology, you must know cable, xDSL, satellite,,,

Re: Etherchannel between 2916XL and 2924XL

2000-09-28 Thread Lonnie Paschall

No one has any input? Well I have been doing some research and I seem to
have set up everything correctly. But let me ask a "dumb" question. If I am
linking two 2924XL switches with two ports. Do I need to configure a port
group on both switches or just one of them?

Re: PRI vs T1

2000-09-28 Thread michael champion

A T1 frame is 193 bits. 192 bits (24X8) corresponds to data, and 1 bit is
used for synchronization. There are 8000 frames per second. T1 was
originally defined for PCM-encoded voice (8 bits per channel, but 1 bit for
signaling when needed - "robbed-bit signaling"), with 24 voice channels per
frame. It is actually unfortunate that "T-1" became a generic term for
anything that has a 1.544 Mbs bit-rate, because T1, DS1, and ISDN PRI should
be defined completely differently. T1 should have been reserved for
24-channel voice, DS1 for 24-channel data, and PRI for 23-channel
+1D-channel (ISDN).

Regardless T1 frame= 24(8-bit voice + signaling) channels + 1sync bit
  DS1 frame = 24(8-bit digital data) + 1 sync bit
  ISDN frame = 23(8-bit digital data) + 1(8-bit signaling) +
1 sync-bit(as logically represented on a T1 carrier)

Therefore, 193X8000 = 1544000 clock-rate for T1 (DS1).
 192X8000  = 1536000 data-bits/sec for T1 (DS1).
 1X8000  =  8000 sync-bits/sec for T1 (DS1).

Notice that there is no defined signaling channel. If multiple sites are
sharing a T1(DS1) link then without some form of common signaling there
would have to be in-band signaling, which would reduce the 8-bits per
channel to 7-bits per channel (ever heard of "switched-56K"?). Fractional T1
would allow common signaling for a higher user data-rate.

Therefore, assuming that some form of out-of-band signaling exists, T1(DS1)
provides 1.536 Mbs of bandwidth, with 8Kbs lost due to sync bits.

The question for PRI becomes even more confused. 23 B-channels + 1 D-channel
+ 1 sync-bit, but the D-channel is primarily used for common signaling. The
question is if there are 23 B-channels at 64Kbs each, how much of the
D-channel's bandwidth can be used for user data, if any (for example, by
running X25 on top of the signaling channel)? This would imply that PRI
would have only 23X64Kbs for user data plus 64Kbs for signaling. Although
ISDN is considered to be all digital, in reality PCM-encoded voice on a T1
line is a digital representation of an analog sample. ISDN still uses T1,
T3, etc. lines to bundle multiple facilities on a common line, but the
channels are interpreted differently. What is really fascinating is to see
how ISDN achieves these rates via the data format from the U-interface.

So the question is "which provides 1.544 Mbs of bandwidth, T1 or PRI?" is
nebulous at best. Neither can provide 1.544 Mbs for exclusive use for user
data. But both have a 1.544 Mbs clock-rate.
