I find it very interesting how the justification for the
invasion/liberation of Iraq has morphed from grave and growing
threat to disapproval of the way Hussein ran the country.
IMHO, the acceptable grounds for military action do not include
disapproval or various forms of it would be better done

the one Haliburton thing is a bit of an understatement.
Halliburton won several no-bid contracts to do things for the Armed
Forces and for the government in general in the Iraq conflict
They feed and support the troops in the combat zones.
They provide (transport) fuel to
A short bit to add to this, immediately before Cheney was VP he was a
senior VP for Halliburton. While he cannot benefit from his
Halliburton stock or other options during his tenure as VPUS, since
the Iraq war, he's made several million in delayed bonuses, stock
increases etc.

Forgot to add that there was a recent issue with that no-bid contract
in that there were several emails from the officer who was the
contracts officer thanking the Vice President's office for expediting
the contract with Halliburton.
