used switch-type basic-5ess. ISDN autodetect also comes out with switch-type

I was trying to connect a 3com Courrier to a Cisco 2600 with BRI ISDN
module, but the Courrier only connected 1 B channel at 64k. Called 3com tech
support and followed instruction to enter *V2=5*P=3*D0=1 initializing
string, but the multilink still didn't work.

SPID is a layer 2 feature if the ISDN switch type requires it. You can
monitor it w/ the debug isdn q921. That command will debug information

to the remote location, the ISDN connection is up and everything is fine.
However, when I initiate a PCAnywhere connection from local to the server

First, have you done a "show isdn stat" on both ends? Take a
look at your dialer map statements. On router 1, your dialer
map points to the following phone numbers:

As in the areas of the country that assign you 64k ISDN service? In that
case, you'll still need two SPIDS if you're using BRI; the 64k restriction
just means that the provider doesn't support the multilink function. Enter
both SPIDs in your config.

I agree with jenny. The user busy in the q931 makes me want to see the 931
at the recieve end as well as the sh isdn sta. I think the site 2 end has
some line /layer 1 problems. Also, I will sometimes do a dial bri 0
111- to my cell phone and see if it rings . that will give me a layer
I agree with the previous 2 posts. You need to look at the remote router.
Since the error message from q931 denotes a lower level problem I'd also run
Debug ISDN q921 which will give you information about your data link

ISDN is working whith 2 B channels (BRI0:1 and BRI0:2) for DATA and 1 D channel
for signalisation (BRI0). To dial to (multiple) location(s), you must use the
signalisation channel for the call setup. So it's normal to configure
everything on the BRI0. Use n dialer map to specify y
to #2 as5300 the call connects,
however when I change the port to 1:d,2:d, or 3:d the call flaps and NEVER
connects.

Hi Folks
How do I identify if an ISDN port on a 2503 router is an "S/T or a "U"
interface.
Either by physical verification or using the CLI. The port on the router
says ISDN BRI.
Could someone please help me out.

The 2503 BRI interface is S/T. On most of the Cisco
gear that I have seen with U interfaces it is labeled
"ISDN U" or similar.
Heres output from a Cisco 800 w/12.1(5)T code:
show int bri0
BRI0 is administratively down, line protocol is down
Hardware is BRI with U interface and POTS
"I think" the port on the router if it says bri is the te1 device and if that
is so, then it is the s interfact or s/t. depends on if you have a nt2 or
not... hope that helps.
