LU 6.2 without a 3745?

to an MVS application over LU 6.2., and I was told For LU 6.2 sessions, there is no alternatives unless you have a PU 4/5. It frankly seems very unlikely that we are just SOL on LU 6.2 without a 3745. What do we need to make this work? Thanks much, Victor Victor Strasser [EMAIL PROTECTED] VM

DIRMAINT noob

2006-06-02 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi, After working with VM:Secure for ages, I finally get to work with DIRMAINT. Since we have a fairly large directory at ~8000 users, I had to expand the CP directory space as well as the 1DB and 1DF disks. Now I want to stress test DIRMAINT to be sure I didn't miss anything. What are some

EMC disk on z9 with z/VM

2006-05-26 Thread Jim Elliott [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I have a customer looking at a z9 for z/VM, but EMC only qualifies the z9 for z/OS (per their web site at http://www.emc.com/interoperability/index.jsp). Is anyone on this list using EMC disk on a z9 with z/VM? Were you able to get a statement of support from EMC? Jim

Back in the late 80's during the VM/SP or VM/HPO days, we ran RACF for PL2 (then called System High) processing as it was the only government approved software package at the time. Sterling Software didn't want to submit VM:Secure for testing so we were stuck with RACF and DIRMAINT. After we

How sweet it is Thank you very much! That put me on the right track. I changed the keyboard and still got the x-210. I did the old trial by error. Put the terminal in setup mode and tried each keyboard setting one by one . The 78EMU setting worked!! Thanks again.

I had the same problem! The second level Z/VM guest kept getting the 754 prog. I was moving from 3.1 to 5.2. The IBM sub contractor said it must be that. He had not seen that in any other upgrade he had done. When he i installed Z/VM 5.2 as the first level, the problem went a way.

I thought the z9-109 was the follow on to the z990 Dave: z9-109 was renamed today to z9 EC. In addition to the new name, there are now subcapacity models of the z9 S08 (4 different speeds on the 1 to 8 way models of the z9 EC) and other enhancements in common with the z9 BC. Jim
