Holding Company financial question
Hi everyone I have a question regarding the concept of holding company I've the accounting department which is a sub organization from the whole company I know that I can setup the accounting of this accounting department separately and get all transactions and reports aside from the whole company But my question is: do the transaction done in sub company affect the transactions done in main big holding company? for example if the sub organization is required to pay 1000 in the accounts payable of the whole company will this appear i the accounts payable? Supplier Not Find Exception While creating PO from Requirement
Hi All I've a question regarding creation of PO from requirement When I make a requirement to certain supplier and the currency of that supplier is not USD fro example EUR or GBP and then approve the requirement then go to the tab Find Approved requirement for supplier Then check the checkbox then click prepare order I face an error Supplier product not found I can easily go and make a purchase order and choose whatever Currency I like with no errors The error only occurs when I make PO from requirement when the currency isn't USD can anyone explain this? Workeffort calender Question
Hi All I want to ask something about calenders is workeffort First of all Can Create more than calender per user login? when I go to workeffort then calender section I want to create different calenders Assume the case that I have a school where there are for example different teachers and different labs to be used and such things so I need multiple calenders is there any suggestions how can I manage this? I know that I can add other parties to calender as calender attendee, so as far as I'm correct that role is all over the calender not a certain event correct? and if I added someone as a calender attendee this means that the events will automatically be added to his/her calender? Hi All I want to install products that have default prices in different currency fto USD For example I want to install product1 that have the default price = 20 EGP I want to create a quote and add this product as a quote Item but actually the quote unit price is not correctly calculated and sometimes it returns 0 How can the ofbiz handle a case where the quote is In Euro and the product prices are in EGPs for example has anyone experience the same or similar problem? I know there might not be any currency conversion but at least is there a problem in attaching a product to quote item where the product and the quote have different currencies? Hi All I'm asking if I can run a certain percent discount on the whole total of the quote? I've checked the quote adjustments but they seem to work on each quote item separately that's not what I want but i want to run on the whole quote items plus I found that I can enter an amount for example $10 but not a percentage I have a question also regarding the price rules. Do the price rules work during the quote? I see the it works on certain price of the product the default price or sale price as I understand is that correct? Hello I have a question related to the product and the order statuses when I go and set up the product as a service does that affect the ordinary flow of the order statuses? auto approval or auto completion or anything of that kind? Things have been much easier when I used the minilang. even sometimes when using the java I used to make genericValue objects specify the entity and make the CRUDs operations but in case this cartItem objects hasn't been yet in the database so I'm missing this level. Hi All I'm having a problem related to how the objects are related to the database tables so that the object can be saved This was very easy using minlang where you can specify what entity are you using and do the CRUDs easily but what about the java objects how they are mapped to the database tables I cam Across this problem while tring to do the following I want to add two field in the OrderItem table those fields are called fromDate and toDate I've added them to the database table through the entitymodel.xml very easily Actually those two fields come from the quote like startReservation date for example so I went to the service loadCartFromQuote and added them into the cartItem Object I don't know how to map this to the orderItem table I mean now the cartItem contains 2 dates and the OrderItem has 2 dates how the mapping is done? where the method that will save the cart item to order item and put it in the database? I've searched for a while and I found that ofbiz doesn't use ORM then how it works? Hi All I'm trying to achieve the following scenario The Customer will subscribe to a product this product is magazine or journal so I've created the product and set up a subscription resource to it and created a sales order and then choose the product and I found a record in the subscriptions linking the order with the productSubscription that's fine my problem now is that those magazines and books will not be in warehouse. The publisher will send them direct t the client so I don't want want any inventory items and I don't want any stock checking So I made the it virtual product and I tried to make another sales order on the product but I couldn't. it gave me the following message Choose Variation Before Adding to Cart Although It's not a virtual product why that happened? Am I on the right direction of completing a sales order where items are not in my warehouse? What I understand is That this services can be called from ecommerce website is this true? I've checked the ditShoppingList u've mentioned and it has frequency, interval, start and end date as I want but I want to use these features in the order manager in the back office. can this be done or I'll have to build my own module? Another Question Actually if a customer wants a subscription of a monthly magazine for ten months I want this to be treated as one order and not ten orders. I think the automatic reorders will treat them as separate orders right? The Ofbiz can be integrated with a called center device with Asterisk software running on it and this integration code is free and I can use it and then I'll be able to to use the phone number of the calling customer as I wish. General question about lookup in ofbiz
Hi all I've a question please genereally in the lookup forms when I go to make a lookup on the party or a product the ofbiz goes and finds the name if that party or that product and put beside the field shaded with yellow colour how it does that?? what's the function or method it uses? Another question I want to do a customization in the request screen so that when the employee chooses a customer preferred currency of that customer is loaded automatically in the currency field does anyone have suggestion on how this could be done? I wanted to make a simple regarding the requirement problem of assigning the requirement to the supplier that has the least price regardless of the difference in currencies. I created a field in the entity supplier product called priceDefaultCurrency which will hold the price in my default currency. I've decided to use the table in the accounting that holds foreign currency changes and idea is when we automatically assign a requirement we'll check if the price is the default say USD or not if it's in USD then priceDefaultCurrency will be equal the lastPrice and if not the I'll get the record that holds the conversion rate from the table uomConversionDated. and get the conversion factor and multiply it to the price and this will be the value of priceDefaultCurrency I'll depend in my code that there exists for example just oe rate from say EUR to USD then I can fix that. Hi All Actually I'm facing a strange scenario and I hope anyone will help me I know that the retail store is intended to be used by POS but for some reason I want to have the 2 options available for me which are: 1-Create orders using my retail store through pos creation 2- Create orders from backend using the order entry screens in the order manager using the retail store I faced exception during the picking process of the when I created the order from order manager when I go to facility and click the picking tab it gives me a message no orders to be picked although I've created inventory for the products and set a location for them is that because of a special setting in the retail store? do I have to create another store? I think this is because of the option isImmediatelyFulfilled= Y what I've noticed is that the retail store doesn't have any inventory and so this flag is set to Y so that we can make orders from POS right? I don't think I want to use it this way what If I want to treat it normally for example the POS have some inventory and I'm selling the products till the products are finished? What if I changed That flag to N and just through the POS I shall only select the available products? Hi All I have some questions regarding the pos and the order relations If I go and open the pos terminal using startofbiz.bat on a windows machine and chose some products then clicked save sale this means my sales order is successfully completed? how can I make sure? where can I see that in the database? Shall I see this order when I go to the order manager? is the order done by the POS terminal is treated as an order and it's saved in the orderheader table. I've tried to make order through POS but I couldn't find it in the order list in the order manager is that natural or the order I've made through the POS wasn't successful? As a matter of fact I don't need all the options found in the POS but I wanted to skip the shipping steps in the ordinary order screens but I found that even if I used quick finalize with default options I'm asked about the shipping address of the customer and shipping options ans such staff so I decided to explore the POS Also something crossed my mind what if I set the customer in the order entry screen to _NA_ will I be able to escape from entering the shipping address of that customer? The usual way of creating quote just I set its type to product purchase then I specify the from party to any supplier and to party to my company I don't know if this is right or not and I didnt read about that in the wiki I really need to know is this right or the quote is just part of the sales process from the company to a customer. How to include ftl from a form
Hi all I have a technical question Can I insert ftl inside a form? For example I'm doing some customization in the request screens the EditRequest screen includes a form this form consists many fields one after the other I've added a checkBox at the end of the form and I just want to put some note just before that check box how to do that? I've only tried to play with fields in the forms but I didnt try to insert pure text is this possible? Hi All I have a question in the party application when I choose any partyGroup and go to update it. If I go to update the party group information I find a field called Currency appears to be a text field and another called Preferred Currency Uom Id a dropdown menu for currencies what's the difference between both? I check the party forms and I found that editPartyGroup contains the Preferred Currency Uom Id and the viewPartyGroup contains another Preferred Currency Uom Id. Store Credit options
Hi All I'm asking about the possibility of storing credit notes in ofbiz and reusing them for example some customer will return a product this product's price is 20 dollars but he'll not get money he'll use this 20 dollar as a credit note so when next time he makes an order with 40 dolllar he's going to pay only 20 and consume his credit note I know there's an option in return called store credit but what's the financial consequences of using that option what it will do? does any one knows a good way of handling returns with no refund but with store credit wether it's a sales or purchase return so that I can compare and see if I have to do some coding or the features are enough for me. Actually trying to imagine that is hard for me especially for purchase orders. If I have credit note with 100 and the next purchase order costed me 1000 so I'll only make a payment with 900 what about the other 100 dollar how I'm gonna make another payment with 100 dollar and make ofbiz understand that it's from credit? are billing and financial accounts used in that? if so how? Also I've a question about the product status and when it shall be available I know this is asked before but I want to make sure that I get it correctly First: If I created the product and didnt put an introduction date what will be the status of that product? will it be disabled? will it appear in the lookups for sales orders and catalogs? Customization of pickList services
Hi All I changed in the order flow a little and therefore now I have to do some customization in the picking process My flow goes as follows I've added an attribute in the customer party called require prepayment this indicates if the customer should make down payments in the his orders or not. in the sales order I do checking if this customer has the require prepayment attribute the prepayment should be received first then the order shall move from ORDER_APPROVED to a state called Ready for shipping Now regarding the picking I want the order that are ready to be picked should be either of the two cases: 1-Ready to ship 2-Approved and the customer doesnt have the require prepayment attribute I was able to do that checking using ftl and groovy by using orderReaderHelper to get the customer then check the require prepayment attribute but how can I make that checking in pickListservices in that service the checking is done this way condition-list combine=and condition-expr field-name=orderTypeId value=SALES_ORDER/ condition-expr field-name=statusId value=ORDER_APPROVED/ condition-expr field-name=isRushOrder from-field=parameters.isRushOrder ignore-if-empty=true/ /condition-list Can I modify this to match the scanrio I want In other way make the order possible for picking if it's status is READY_TO_SHIP or if the order status is ORDER_APPROVED and the customer doesn't have the require prepayment field does the minilang allow me to write such a code ? or it would be safer to make the scenario I want want lead to another status and simply check on that status? -- View this message in context: http://ofbiz.135035.n4.nabble.com/Customization-of-pickList-services-tp3020899p3020899.html Sent from the OFBiz - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

My problem is that I don't know groovy I've never wrote any code in groovy but I'll check the files already implemented and try to do it. I've asked more specific question n topic Check on party fields from ftl files I've mentioned that I want to make a groovy file and that groovy file checks on certain field in the party entity. this is an extra field I've put in the party entity called requirePrepayment and it's a checkbox I just want get the customer related to the order then check if that field is checked or not. Hi all My problem is similar to the problem of the free shipping. I want a way to avoid shipping at all. NO shipping For example when I choose my products of certain stores the shipping can be skipped no method is required nor any expenses or such things as if you were selling in pos or something is that possible through the GUI or I have to do it using some coding? Actually I want to do something like a pos without using pos and I have my reasons not to use one. Auto approval problem
I was trying to make a new ECA in the seca.xml in the order servicedefin my trial wasn't successful and I just commented the code then I synchronized with the source svn I found after that a strange behavior which is when I go to make a new sales order the click create the order is both created and approved !! It's the first time I encounter this problem and I havent changed anywhere else in the code. Account and Lead assign to me
I have the following questions please BY default when a user login go and create an account in SFA the account is assigned to him automatically but this is not the case in Leads. why? this is a bug or something meant to be? What changes should I make in the service method of the creation of a lead if I want it to be assigned automatically to the person who created it? I need that because I want to make the sales man only sees his leads which should be automatically assigned to him when he creates them. I'm new to ofbiz developing just a week or so ago. I need to change the order flows and customize it. what's the best to use? workflow engine and using xpdl? or using eeca and seca? I have no experience in using workflows or xpdl so I'll have to learn them first and I dont have plenty of time I have made very simple examples using eeca and seca. I'll give more explanation about what I want to do For example I want the order to pass 2 approve stages not one I want the order to be approved by the accountant and then the manager. i.e I want to change in the stage of the order add new stages make some stage available only under certain condition. I read in documenation that eeca and seca are better is this true in my case or i'll have to study xpdl and workflows to do that? CRUD using minilang
I'm trying to use the minilang to delete a record in an entity. I faced the
following exception
Error calling event: org.ofbiz.webapp.event.EventHandlerException: Found URL
parameter [reviewId] passed to secure (https) request-map with uri
[RemovePlanetReview] with an event that calls service
[learningRemovePlanetReview]; this is not allowed for security reasons! The
data should be encrypted by making it part of the request body (a form
field) instead of the request URL. Moreover it would be kind if you could
create a Jira sub-task of https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-2330
(check before if a sub-task for this error does not exist). If you are not
sure how to create a Jira issue please have a look before at

Hi all I want to use the accounting daily journals in ofbiz a journal where you enter your daily transactions. Is something like that available in ofbiz. I've found in the Organization accounting setup that we can implement a new journal and is this similar to what I'm talking about? what's the error journal and if I can create a new journal can I use it as my daily journal.by setting something that makes all transactions in everyday and show me the debit and credit amounts? Hi all I'm asking how can I handle subscriptions in the following way through ofbiz I want to handle subscriptions for magazines journals and such things for my customer. The subscription will contain the basic information like any subscription as dates and frequency and such things but I ant them to be kind of orders I want the subscription be approved and treated financially just as an order. I know there is a subscription module in catalog but it's not related to the order right? It doesnt follow the order's cycle. How can I manage subscription for magazines and journals from the users point of view ? Hi all I'm new to ofbiz and I have questions regarding the rentals this is my case: my company has some products for rent say equipments or machines no need to ship just the very simple functions with any rentals start date and end date and a flag so that if it's rented to somone we cant rent it to the another client. I found a catalog called rental but I dunno really how to deal with it. Can anyone tell me simple steps as a user on how to setup a product not for selling but for rentals? how to associate dates to the product? the rental boats catalog does it include any special feature to say that its products are for rent not for sail? Login default page questions
Hi all I want to customize the webtools default page and the login default page whatever themeI use those pages takes the bizznes theme. it seems a trivial question but I'm a very beginner. I want to change the logos and put mine I overrdie it in the framework/images folder and in the theme folder. but nothing happens. I know that I can go to the data maintenance and create permission but how to associate this permission with the Create forecast service? Currency problem in choosing the appropriate supplier in requirement
Hi I have the following problem. For a certain product I've many suppliers those suppliers have their prices in different currencies .
