Interesting. I have a rather large collection (Total Tracks: 36,508
Total Albums: 3,627). As I got some new stuff over the last 2 weeks, the
iPad which I use as a a remote has stopped seeing the new albums - it's
stuck in the past. The web app does see them no problem. The android app
on my
ok. complete rescan from scratch fixed it.

the SB Boom does a very good jopb at feeding a sub through the audio
out. doing so produces an amazing effect, it allwed the Boom to fill my
large garage with Gym with very high quality sound.
now there are an increasing number of DACs and Integrated Amps with the

as of the last 2 weeks, with the config in my sig, this has started to
happen... the current song shows, but the other songs in the playlist
don't show and i get the loading sign. if i restart LMS then it works
again for a day or two, and then it happens again... anyone can imagine

An advantage of having a copy of the original, freshly configured VM is
that if anything weird happens, I can just go and either save or delete
the current VM, and load one that always works. All I have to do is run
a scan, done, it all works as if freshly configured. :-)

Out of nowhere the LMS web interface doesn't load, it hangs with
Loading Logitech Media Server... (see attached)

i have some CDs that i burned over 14 years ago that have started to
fail. they were burned to be in the car, so they were exposed to high
temps, i am sure.
none of my purchased CDs -and if memory serves i switched from vinyl to
CD format in 1988 or so- has ever failed. then again, i have had
i got sick of porting and re-configuring applications.
so for stuff like LMS i simply configured a stable dedicated VM running
a long-term support Ubuntu kernel (12.04 right now) with LMS on top. And
then run in on VM Player, and then the underlying machine doesn't
matter. you could do the same

i see there is a new version of the stable to download. in fact i
noticed because my SB Touch just demanded i download a new SW version, i
could not click out of it, but it was still 7.7.3 (which i already had,
i suppose it wanted new FW).
in any case, i see no documentation on what's new
really, you are much better off spending your money on a good external
DAC, and feeding it from any SB - Touch or SB3. i used to want to buy a
Transporter but all the spots where taken, and as i recently built my
new system (see Pics of your system) i got a Benchmark DAC2HGC (which is
superb),

with the performance of SBS on the DS209, i find the
immediate response i get of the desktop machine more satisfying.
so for now the DS209 is a backup server that also has 1:1 RAID
redundancy. i do not eliminate running SBS on the DS209 in the future
though.

There are now excellent Intel lga1155 boards that have both a lot of
umph, aggressive power management features, and fit into a miniITX
board that is whisper quiet. For a silent system you ahve to do some
research before you buy the components, though - I recommend
silentpcreview.com.

connected to mysb.com directly, only and exclusively to SBS. But
the mysb.com settings were written to every player and overwrote the SBS
settings. And the Duet went a bit crazy until it was reset and SBS
restarted.

my setup... and screwed them up in my entire configuration. What the
hell, really. AGH.
I am very very aggravated by this. All my menu setups. All my audio
setup and synch settings. My customized display formats. All. AGH.

The backup option I am talking about is a backup .bin file for every
squeezebox that can be restored. Every wireless device has one. Copying
around system files is *not* a stable backup solution, and in this case
does not work at all.

think the client had to become smarter from an interface point of view,
yet remains lightweight from a music path point of view. it is the best
of all worlds. Logitech has this nearly won: the interface is pretty,
the box very flexible, the cost point just right.

it compelling enough: customers ask for it, plus more music
with very good quality (which 192 represents, 128 is a tad bland for
good jazz and classical recordings) to more clients... sounds like a
common sense bet for them.

blocks are being constantly reallocated, and there is a lot of wasted
space that can be freed up. between that and NAT, it seems to have legs
for a while. :-)

SBS. i have an always on computer that acts as my SBS server,
but every 2 months or so something weird will happen where i'll have to
powercycle the player or restart the server.

what i have now discovered a few days later is that my preferences were
obliterated. SBS all by itself went back to a default conf file or
something, and utterly forgot about my stuff.
has anyone else experienced this?
