I have a very tough time walking on dry ground (even with cane). However, too
much heat is also hard for me. Here on Long
Island we are just coming out of a heat wave - - the humidity was
brutal!

Hi Anne - I was told that TM was a one time onset (usually)
but I feel I am worsening. My legs shake too, they call it "clonus" If I stand
on tip toes rather than on heels, it gets very much worse. I feel I am getting
worse, weaker due to decreased activity - I was very active, now I just
Hi Gary - I have TM - lesion at C3-C4,C4-C5 - I saw
itonmy MRI. My Neurologist says that she believes I do not have MS
(MANY brain MRIs) but "will not rule it out" I think she is just trying to cover
her own ass. She sent me for a spinal tap because she thought I had

Yes, I do get swelling in my bad foot. My Physical
Therapist says it's from the spinal column nerve damage. I thought it was from
wearing this AFO brace on that leg/foot all day.

For me, steroids (prednesone) makes me feel and walk much
better . I was on them last December for 2 months, I was ready to throw away my
cane. Then they made me stop - prednesone for long periods of time are no good
for other body parts

Anyone know of a good TM neurologist in New York? I live on
Long Island, not far from NYC and am seeing a neurologist who is more of a MS
Neurologist I have learned (from a case worker). My condition is not improving,
it's worsening.

Yes, you are right, there are some good hearted people - example: I was
hobbling with my cane into a diner a while back, in the teeming rain.
One such person stood in the pouring rain, holding the door until I got
there and got in. And this is in New York!
