Hello Jean,
see in text:

The way the K3 behave seems absolutely normal. You cannot have your cake
and eat it.
To be able to send CW while in SSB the rig has to be in VOX mode.
When PTT is engaged you must first press the PTT to transmit and if the
rig is in SSB
Mike,
you are right...
When you have SSB + CW active (menu:CW WGHT press 1) there is now no
conncetion between PTT/VOX mode for CW and CW sending in SSB mode.
(as it was in previous versions as I remember)
My previous messages concerning this was based on previous experience
and only very
of it :-(
Sorry for used bandwidth caused by my stupidity :-)

Maybe there will be also chance to change KEY OUT behavior to be also
OFF when in CW PTT mode the Key is touched. Or select KEY OUT behavior
in menu somewhere.
But maybe this is not so easy, I know...

To have CW in SSB mode (if switched on in Menu) you need to have at
first VOX/QSK active in CW mode then in SSB mode you are able to send
CW just by hitting the Key. It is my experience not tested yet with 2.02

Things work as advertised now.

Stan,
it is very useful to program AGC slope settings to PF1 or PF2 key to
have instant access from panel by one key to this setting.
(I have AGC slope assigned to PF1 and TECH mode ON to PF2)

Hi Paul,
I was investigated little bit this (as not fully satified by KEY OUT
functionality). Looking to schematics of KXV board there some levels
like related to TX/RX... Seems to be possible to derive some PTT or
+TX driver from such signals on this board and put some RCA port to
the rear
Hi Paul,
this is what I discovered and described on
http://www.zerobeat.net/smf/index.php?topic=215.0
There are some possibilities that later after more important changes
there will be some change in firmware to set KEY OUT as pure PTT out
port. (I hope so).
For many oparators running
Hello,
just question - is internal additional shield linked only to KPA3
module or is delivered also with KRX3 second RX module?
If not is possible to add to the order of KRX3 by some way?
Suppose K3 is more robust with this shield installed.
But not sure about this idea, please change my mind
In any case (of upper limit) 10Hz step will be better for personal
settings and for special weak signal tracking.
Hope this will be on thi list for some future release of firmware.

David,
The well-tempered scale is logarithmic, in a sense.
O. Johns napsal(a):
I'd suggest that, if the hardware registers permit it, the firmware on
the K3 should allow a sidetone from 200 Hz to 1000 Hz by 10 Hz increments.
Increment of 10Hz is also listed on wish-list on
http://www.zerobeat.net/smf/index.php/board,25.0.html

On many TCVRs - if you are not in QSK mode - you can just press key
and hear pitch tone (sidetone) and tune signal to zero beat.
This is one reason I was opening KEY OUT port settings wish - to have
sidetone only without keying to TX by pressing key (in nonQSK), but it
is another story ;-)

Hello Elcrafters,
it was tested that KEY OUT port (rear panel of K3) is not in CW PTT
mode acting as PTT OUT (how was wrongly supposed to be) and this was
confirmed by Elecraft as intentional behavior but that if there will
be some feedback/requests from customers, maybe will be possible to
