There is a tasty little program called Explore2fs that gives access to Linux partitions. You can see all the files and copy them to windows if necessary. The README warns against actually writing to the Linux partition but even so it's quite useful. -- Graham Watkins

I use Samba to provide file and print services for Windows 98 and 2000 clients; after installing Linux I get Samba running and drop in a standard etc/smb.conf file. After setting some smb passwords it always works fine. I'll send the file on request (to avoid burdening the list). -- GT

of errors with blank cd's. since you brought up that you have a 4802TE, may I ask if it is working under linux ? It worked OK prior to installation of 7.2. I was able to copy audio CDs and copy downloaded rpms onto a re-writeable CD. It was unable to read UDF formatted CDs though. -- Graham

now the device name for your CD, and try to copy that to the desktop. Click on that and work with the properties. The trick is to get the "mount" and "unmount" show up when you right click the icon. The devices are shown as mounted and are shown under HardDrake. However, they remain inaccessible. -- Graham Watkins
