I don't think it's difficult. Log in to your favourite window manager as
root. Open up xcdroast, go into settings and fill in the settings as
required. I'd go into more detail if I could remember it. It works for me.

Here's a funny thing!
I opened Netscape to get my mail the other day and found my Newbie folder
which had several hundred messages in it, to be completely empty.
When I downloaded my mail, nothing came down from this mailing list despite
the fact that there were definitely messages on the
the network card (a pcnet32) and still ... no network!!!
It hurts to have to boot into windows just to check my mail :(

A little problem - I just installed KOffice 2.01 over the top of the
version that came with Mandrake 7.2. This appeared to go OK but now it
won't start. When I try to start it, I get the revolving disk icon on
the KDE taskbar but it then disappears and ... er that's it.

and copy downloaded rpms onto a re-writeable CD. It was unable to read
UDF formatted CDs though.

The trick is to get the "mount" and "unmount" show up when you right click the
icon.
The devices are shown as mounted and are shown under HardDrake. However,

Hi,
has anyone got a simple guide to setting up ntpd. I've installed both ntpd and xntpd
but can't seem to get either tlo sync time to the outside world or provide ntpd
service to PCs. ntpdate does, however, seem to go off an get me the correct time.
Any help appreciated

an error in messages that state that access was denied.
My hosts.allow file has no entries, I've tried adding entries to allow everything but
no joy.

And then restart! But I get a thing saying X has respawned to fast and it
will be disabled for 5 mins!
