I love my AKG701s, too. I'm listening to the Dvorak Cello Concerto at
this very moment -- breathtaking! I find I prefer them to my old
Sennheisser HD650s -- more detail and clarity.

Yes, it was included with the service. I think most calibrators do
that. For instance, on the Earthworks audio site it says:

Because my room acoustics are not great at the moment I did my
listening with my headphone rig (a Headroom Max Balanced Amp balanced

In the kitchen in my last house I had a pair of Canton Plus MX
satellites ($200) and the AS22C sub ($499). There is a matching
Cantomount wall brackets ($50). Sounded great in a difficult space.
Discrete and nice looking, too.

some balanced
amps, but they are even pricier. Also, if you do buy a balanced
headphone amp, you will need to recable your HD 600s.
