form feed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

John,
Try using lower case list, this will force ECLTYPE U (Unidata) flavor.

I was wondering if any else out there uses a text editor TEXTPAD and has
already created a syntax file for it.
If so, please email offline or link.

I own the domain. It's not hosted by myself here in the frigid 82F

Let me rephrase that. I donated the funds for the domain name and
registered it. U2UG owns the domain in whole.
I love whois..I should have paid for that privacy thingie too.

together with simple directory transfers of the data.
Quality control will be the big issue. You may find that you have to
task some poor soul to verify the OCR work prior to import into
UniVerse.

As the only problem seems to be the licensing method, I think I would
try to engage IBM to see what the options are. Perhaps a per
processor license could be worked out.

Just looked at the copy of Pick BASIC I have on my desktop and sure
enough, the technical editor is Mr. Clifton Oliver. So, he sold at
least one of those books.

Interesting thread. Even though I don't really have much to do with
UniVerse these days, I still enjoy reading (and learning from) these
forums.
I've been a long time user of both UniVerse and SQL Server. Developed
many things using one, the other or both db's as data sources. I
would say
I've used vmware for development work and as a means of converting
data from one system to another. Works very well if you run it on a
machine with dual core's, adequate memory and more than one hard
drive. Works best if you can put the vm's files onto their own hard
drive.

Sounds alot like the current system I'm working on. It's Informix
compiled down to c++ and then run on a sql 2005 server. The front end
is done in vb6 and the web servers are a patchwork of asp and vb.net
and c#.net.

This guy wants low cost equipment. If they have been running on a 486
box up until now, speed is certainly not an issue. I'd suggest
browsing ebay for a 1-2 year old dual core server or workstation.
You'd be surprised at how cheap they are once they come off lease.
