7.6.04 SP2 to 7.6.04 SP5 Report Weirdness

2014-08-04 Thread Kemes, Lisa A DLA CTR INFORMATION OPERATIONS
We just set up a brand new 7.6.04 SP5 system and are migrating over our
reports.

The records moved over, but all of the Web Report attachments did not.

I tried manually exporting the attachment from our 7.6.04 SP2 system and
adding the attachment to the new system and when I save, the attachment
field just blanks out.

We've tried migrator, user tool, midtier, etc

Has anyone experienced this before?

It looks like on the Web Reports. AR Report attachments came over just
fine.

I'm going to check that out.

Also check all the attachment fields in that pool. Maybe one of them is a
Display Only and your import mapping is using that one. Check by Field ID to
make sure you are looking at the right field.

Another possibility is that the field you are mapping it to is out of view.
And not the one that is in view. That way it is actually getting imported
but into a field that isn't in that view.

Cheers

Business Object Universe and 7.6.04 SP2 Overlay

2013-11-27 Thread Terje Moglestue
Folks,

It might be my lack of understanding or knowledge on the use of Business Object
and their Universe. Our Business Object team just told me that they are having
some data issues related to some of their reports. More correctly some of the
users are reporting that the data reported in incorrect. A quick look at the
data confirms that Business Objects Universe is ignoring the BMC Overlays.

Is this correct? Do we really need to manually update Business Object Universe?
Have I lost out on something here? A few new Status Reasons has been created on
HPD:Help Desk. The new reasons are completely ignored by BO Universe. Is this
correct? I would expect that there were some code or layer in between that
fixed this?

A quick check of the SQL code generated by Business Objects:

SELECT DISTINCT FIELD_ENUM_VALUES.enumId, field_enum_values.value AS
STATUS_REASON
FROM field_enum_values
WHERE field_enum_values.schemaId =
 (SELECT SCHEMAID
  FROM arschema
  WHERE name = 'HPD:Help Desk')
AND field_enum_values.fieldId = 100150

If changed to access the overlay - the related report is correct?
SELECT DISTINCT FIELD_ENUM_VALUES.enumId, field_enum_values.value AS

FROM field_enum_values
WHERE field_enum_values.schemaId =
  (SELECT SCHEMAID

AND field_enum_values.fieldId = 100150

I would expect this to be fixed or handled by BMC Software. Or am I dreaming?

Reopen Incidents in ITSM 7.6.04 SP2

2013-11-21 Thread Terje Moglestue
There are a few known issues related to the re-open functionality.
What I am trying to do should be very simple - but I cannot get around and
fully understand how the out-of-the-box functionality is working. The client
have added a few more fields to the HPD:Helpdesk. When using the out-of-the-box
reopen functionality I just need to include these new fields within the reopen
process. Simple! Not that simple - BMC Software have really made a simple
functionality - very complex. Can someone guide me in the right direction?

BMC ITSM 7.6.04 SP2 and Mid-Tier 8.1?

2013-11-11 Thread Terje Moglestue
Folks,

My client is running BMC ITSM 7.6.04 SP2 for all components including the
mid-tier.

MS SQL 2008
ARS server groups.
Mid-tier with load balancer.
Tomcat 6

All server are well configured with memory and processers to hold the load of
250-400 concurrent users.
All servers are virtual except for SQL.
All servers are 64 bits - Tomcat is running 32 bits.

The tomcat are the mid-tiers are playing up with memory issues and a few other
bits. My initial advice is to upgrade the ARS 7.6.04 SP4 and upgrade tomcat. My
question is: How successful have you folks been upgrading the mid-tier to 8.1
and keep ARS Server and ITSM Apps on the current release? In the past I have
boosted performance and increased stability by only upgrading tomcat and the
mid-tier to latest generation and patch.

Is mid-tier 8.1 running will with ARS 7.6.04SP2 and ITSM 7.6.04 SP2?

Thanks,

Re: BMC ITSM 7.6.04 SP2 and Mid-Tier 8.1?

2013-11-11 Thread Pierson, Shawn
We are testing this scenario right now. As far as I can tell there are no
issues, and it does improve performance. However, our plan is to upgrade to
ITSM 8.1 soon after upgrading ARS, but we wanted to try breaking the upgrade up
into chunks since this isn't a big project with contractors in our environment.
The three of us on the Remedy team completed our testing of that scenario and
found no issues, but our users are starting to test and may find things we
don't see.

Re: A.CMDB 7.6.04 SP2 - Categorization vs Regular Class benefits

2013-09-21 Thread Sathish Kumar
Thanks for your input of categorization class usage Peter!!

Basically I got need 10 classes each with apprx 8-10 custom attribute minimum.

The design question is,
a)
if I should have 1 regular class(at tier 1 level) with all these attributes
and then derive 10 categorization classes out of it with super class as
BMC_BaseElement OR

b) create 10 regular class( all at tier 1 level) each with its own custom
attributes under the BMC_BaseElement
(taking BMC_BaseElement as example here).

Also I am looking for performance impact on Normalization /Reconciliation when
processing via the above two option
a) Categorization class (normalization/reconciliation can happen via
categorization classes?) and b) Regular class

If you are aware of any document which points to such details would also be
helpful.

Re: A.CMDB 7.6.04 SP2 - Categorization vs Regular Class benefits

2013-09-19 Thread Peter Romain
A good rule of thumb would be that if you need to add more than 5 attributes
then use a regular class.

Categorisation subclasses don't have new regular forms created for them so the
database impact is reduced.

If, however, you need any of your new attributes to be required fields in a
categorisation sub class then you'll need to give these a default value
otherwise you won't be able to create new CI's in other sibling classes.

There won't be any impact on new relationship classes but you might want to
create these as categorisation subclasses (I don't know why BMC created the
Component and Dependency classes as regular classes)

Installer Hangs while upgrading atrium core to 8.1 from 7.6.04 SP2

We are in a process of upgrading all remedy modules to 8.1 from 7.6.04. First

saying that approval server sanity check failed. Then we ran the atrium core
installer and it's in same state from the last 18 hours. It got stuck at the
screen which says WSC post installer executor. Also
the installer status bar is not moving ahead. Should I cancel it and rerun the
installer again or is there any way in which it could it upgrade atrium core

One more question.

We are trying to setup DSO between 2 AR servers.
One is on RHEL 5.3, 7.6.04 SP2 and other is on Win 2k 8, 7.6.04 SP2

We enabled DSO on both the servers. Machines are in same network and
accessible from one another using machine name (same as AR Server name).

After making all configuration changes, we observe following

1. From Developer Studio, if we connect to Windows ARS, we are able to
connect to
Linux Server in one of the distributed mappings. Even here, there is
small glitch, we need to specify IP address of Linux machine. It doesn't
work with AR Server Name of Linux machine.

2. But from Developer Studio, if we connect to Linux ARS, no matter what
we put we are not able to establish connection to Windows ARS server.

When configuring DSO on both, we have used machine names (same as AR
Server Alias Name) (and not FQDN) of the remote AR Server.

Any clues what might be going wrong?

You mentioned you need to specify IP address to make it to work. With server

Hello Paul,

You are upgrading form AR 7.6.04 Sp2 to SP4. i.e. from one overlay aware
platform to the other one (next version).
In this case if you already have overlays created in your system. You should
not use BPCU.

Secondly, Do you have customizations on AR System Server forms? And do you
really want to preserve those customizations?
In upgrade process we recommend to ignore System forms from creating overlays.

Vikram

Vikram

Hi,

I would guess that serveradmin.def should be imported in Base mode rather
than Best-Practice mode...

That is the whole idea, to import BMC-stuff underneath what you have
created in Best-Practice mode.

Maybe the BPCU-utility converted some of the old serveradmin-objects to
Custom when it should have been left as Base?

View Access on Known Error Form in ITSM 7.6.04 SP2

2012-12-03 Thread Stroud, Natalie K
Hi Listers:

I'm looking at the Known Error form (part of Problem Management) in ITSM 7.6.04
SP2 and am noticing that it has a field called View Access on the form itself.
My familiarity with View Access is only with what appears in the Work Info.
There, if it's set to Internal, it means that only users whose People record
has Support Staff set to Yes can see it. If it's set to Public, it means that
any end user can view that particular Work Info if they access the ticket the
Work Info in question appears in via the Service Request Management (SRM)
module.

We haven't implemented SRM at our site, so I can't test the View Access on the
KE form directly, and I can't find reference to it anywhere in the BMC's
documentation for Problem Management. I'm curious whether any of you out there
have played with it and can confirm whether it works the same way the View
Access on the Work Info does. I'd tend to assume that it does, but have had
too many bites taken out of my backside over the years when I proceed without
confirming my assumptions. I have no doubt that at least a few of you out
there can relate!

Thanks,

Natalie Stroud

You can go ahead with any of ITSM 7604 SP2 or 7604 SP4.

But it is suggested to install SP4 as it a newer release than ITSM 7604 SP2
hence it promises better functionality and contains fixes of all the known
issues of ITSM 7604 SP2.

Re: Remedy ITSM - 7.6.04 SP2 CMDB Audit Trail/Log

2012-09-20 Thread Pierson, Shawn
We had to make our own audit form for Asset Management. The tricky part is
being able to track relationship (including people and CI) changes. The other
major enhancement we made for Asset Management is a CI Transfer form. It's
used on Computer Systems, so when a user gets a new PC, you can easily transfer
the child CIs such as software or a printer over to the new one without much
effort. Both of those features should be included out of the box but are not.
I was happy, however, to not have to build a customization to do a search for
CIs related to a specific user on the Asset Management console.

Thanks,

Web Service Issue - Post Upgrade from ARS 7.1 to ARS 7.6.04 SP2

2012-08-14 Thread jaya munjal
Hi List

We have upgraded our ARS instance from ARS 7.1 to ARS 7.6.04 SP2. We have a
custom application where we are consuming an external web service.

The workflow is that an escalation sets a flag and then there is workflow
(filters) which are triggered to gather a values from other forms and then call
the webservice to submit a request in the external system.

Post upgrade a few values are going as blank in the web service when the
escalation is triggering the workflow, but when we manually set the flag and
workflow triggers the webservices is sending all values as expected.

Any ideas what could have changed?

Regards
Jaya

We got it.. we think..

Issue is really that a feild1 on one system says it is field length of 0

however
--Sol 10, Oracle 11 / ARS 7.6.04 sp2 (same) -- did not work..
Unique index violation.. but there is no index on the field, so we made it
4000 vice 0 and it now works..
=== Oracle is not Oracle on windows / solaris..

Three stooges ..

we had this mapped to a coloum on the business console, but we had a
customer submit over 255 (changed from 0 )
all SRM's hung in submit, and never made it to remedy internal and hung in
CAI:Events..

Re: Upgrade ARS 7.1 to 7.6.04 SP2 in server group

2012-07-12 Thread jaya munjal
Hi William

Thanks for sharing your experience. A couple of questions these parameters need
to set in all the AR Server or only on the secondary servers.

Secondly should be take the primary server out of the server group before
upgrading or it doesn't matter till we select overwrite during primary server
upgrade and server group option during secondary server upgrades.

Thanks
Jaya

Okay, a couple of things..I have been in the middle of this in Linux and
experienced every problem imaginable.  Fortunately we now have a good path to
work from.

First, if you are upgrading in a server group only the primary server should be
running when ARS is upgraded.  All others should have the services COMPLETELY
STOPPED before you run the installer.

Second, you need to be setting two environment variables (usually by editing
the .profile for the user).  These lines need to go in the .profile:

BMC_AR_LOADAPP_SKIP=TRUE
BMC_LOADAPP_SKIP=TRUE
export BMC_AR_LOADAPP_SKIP
export BMC_LOADAPP_SKIP

This forces the ARS installer - and ALL of the of the application installers
(with the partial exception of CMDB) to only put the binaries on the other
server group servers.

This is awesome because your install time for something like ITSM goes from 10
hours down to 15 minutes.

Enjoy ...

Hi List

We are trying to upgrade our environment (5 ARS in a server group mode) with
email engine installed on all ARS servers. The problem we see is upgrading the
secondary servers if we select email engine along with the ARS server in the
server group mode.

Below are the steps we are following and the installer doesn't allow us to
install engine engine on the secondary server as it says port 1100 (this is
port on which email engine is running in our environment) is in use

- Stop all servers expect the primary server
- take the primary server out of the server group and we upgrade it along with
email engine - this works fine
- Take the secondary servers out server group - run the installer select
server group upgrade mode along with email - this gives us an error that port
1100 is already in use

We have tried stopping the email engine on the primary server still the
installer doesn't allow us to upgrade the email engine.

Any ideas what could be the issue or is there a different approach to upgrade
a server group environment along with email//

Please suggest

Re: ITSM 7.6.04 SP2 - Work Order Printing

2012-05-29 Thread Peter Adams
This KB article is not worded very well. We have pulled it back to revise.

Fact is: SRM has so far never offered print capability for work orders. This is
a valid enhancement and something that we are looking into for future releases.
In Overview Console of current version 7.6.04, this was not properly
reflected, as print button was enabled for work order records. In 7.6.04 SP2
we have changed this in Overview Console, so that there's no confusion about
which records printing is available for and which not.

ITSM 7.6.04 SP2 - Work Order Printing

2012-05-24 Thread Sanford, Claire
This should be classified as Friday Humor! BMC has pretty much said... We
don't know how to do it, so we will take the functionality away... The very
last line of the KB article makes my blood boil!
Hence, from 7.6.04 SP2 onwards the print option is removed

~

Knowledge Article ID:KA366345
Version:2.0
Status:Published
Published date:05/16/2012
Updated:05/16/2012

  Problem
## Description:-- The Print Button is not available on Work Order. Need to know
if its an error or a normal design of the application, that in the
WOI:WorkOrder form there´s no Print Button available. The Print Button exists
in Incidents and Change forms.

-- SRM Version - 7.6.04 sp2

Solution
## Solution:--
-- Defect# SW00405269 was logged as there were issues with the print option of
the Work Order in SRM 7.6.03.

-- As a fix the have removed the print option from work order from SRM 7.6.04
SP2 onwards and below is the Work Around:--

===

Modify the SHR:OVC:Print_105_SetReportInformationRelease active link to have
the correct enum value, i.e. :

Old Run-If :

'z2TF_TicketType' = Work Order

New Run-If :

'z2TF_TicketType' = Release

-Add a new active link (SHR:OVC:RowChoice_100_DisablePrintBtn) that will
disable the print button when Work Order records are selected.

Executes at Execution Order 100 on Row Choice of the z2TH_ConsolidateTable1
table.

Run If:
'z2TF_TicketType' = Work Order

If Action:
Change Field z3Btn_PrintToScreen to Disabled

Else Action:
Change Field z3Btn_PrintToScreen to Enabled

===

Hence, from 7.6.04 SP2 onwards the print option is removed

Heavy Memory/CPU consumption of ARS 7.6.04 SP2 in Linux.

2012-04-30 Thread Shiju John
Hi Guys,
Have any one noticed a major Memory/CPU consumption of the arserverd
process in Linux environment.

Please find the environment details below:

*ARS version :* ARS 7.6.04 SP2.
*ITSM Version:* ITSM SP2.
*Linux Version :* RHEL 5 Linux kernel 2.6.18
*Database :* Oracle 11g R2(64 bit)

We are observing a heavy usage (CPU - more than 100 % and Memory - more
than 50%), resulting in Timeouts, and even service crash.
Please pass on your suggestions on this.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your quick response.

Actually the issue is not bound to any particular activity. It happens
whenever we are performing an admin activity. Since we have the
'Development Cache' mode on,its impacting the user actions also.

PS: Most of the time out issues are not logged in the arerror.log aswell.

2012-04-30 Thread Murnane, Phil
John:

It's normal to have arserverd consume substantially more resources after an
administrative operation. All the processing threads are updating their
caches. Having Development Cache turned on will help spread out the surge in
resource demand because it allows each thread's cache to be loosely consistent
instead of tightly consistent with the master copy.

Re: Questionary issue in SRM 7.6.04 SP2 with IE8

2012-04-20 Thread Nathan Aker
I've not dealt with this specific hotfix, but we have found many odd caching
behaviors with 7.6.04 that have lead to us thinking fixes didn't work when they
really did. Often changes are not sync'd with a flush of the midtier cache and
sometimes not even with a restart of the webserver. We've had a couple of
changes that wouldn't apply for up to 3 days despite all our efforts, then
suddenly appeared as some component finally reached. I've worked with Remedy
for 8 years and never seen the odd caching behavior of this version.

So I would recommend you first ensure you've done the following to rule out a
simple cached prior version of the form/workflow:

1. Flush Midtier Cache
2. Restart Webserver (if you have the luxury)
3. Flush Browser Cache

Hi,

Many Thanks for your inputs..!

We tried all the possibilities. It was working fine with other browsers before
fix installed and also after the fix installed with out any Browser Cache
flush. We are facing the issue only with IE. This seems like more browser
specific (Internet Explorer) rather caching behaviour.

Any more thoughts on this issue appreciated.

with question type as Radio Button, and made the SRD online.

Now, after selecting the appropriate check box from first question, the radio
button options are not visible for second question. This is happening only
with IE8 and working as expected with other browsers like firefox, chrome
 etc...

We found a defect # SW00382354 with hot fix attached . Even after the hot fix
applied we are getting the same results with IE8.

Does any one facing the same issue with IE8. Does this hotfix really worked
 for you ?

I've seen this behavior as well with the latest SRM but haven't had time to
investigate it. That hotfix will be on my list to test now.

7.6.04 SP2 - How to add a Work Info Type to the Incident form

2012-04-18 Thread Jase Brandon
Hello All,
I've been banging my head on the keyboard for the last few hours and was
hoping someone had already dealt with this.

We are on 7.6.04 SP2 and I need to add a 'Work Info Type' to the Incident
form of First Call Resolution.

I've ensured the form/view for HPD:HelpDesk and HPD:Worklog are overlaid,
I've added 'Work Info Type' of First Call Resolution to the Incident
form.. and to the HPD:Worklog form. Both with corresponding values of
18001.

Per support - I now need to add a record to SYS:Menu Items for this to work
correctly. Here comes the problem:

The field 'Selection Code' won't allow me to add 18001 when I create a
new record. The field is read only and I can't figure out where this
'Selection Code' value is being generated.

Can anyone provide any guidance? :-) I haven't done this in awhile and it's
driving me crazy. Am I on the right resolution path? Should I do this
differently? Support seems stumped too...

Thanks in Advance,

Jase Brandon

2012-04-18 Thread Goodall, Andrew C
ARX data export - change the value and re-import.

I've done this before and it's worked well.

Also - try copy to new function on WUT. Sometimes copy to new will make
that field read-write. That's worked for me on status reasons.

Re: Unable to save preferences of tables in 7.6.04 SP2

2012-03-20 Thread Arner, Todd
I think we seen this issue but in an earlier version of ARS and it was related
to the user not having a record in the AR System User Preference form. Make
sure the users have a record in the AR System User Preference form. The table
preferences are stored in the Edit tab. Also make sure the user has
permissions to write to the form. I am thinking there may have been a
permissions issue as well on the form. Not sure if that’s your issue or not
but worth taking a look.

Hello All,

We recently just went live with 7.6.04 SP2 and it seems like there’s an issue
with being able to save table preferences on the homepage. For example, if I
select ‘Assigned to all my groups” with respective company and ‘save’ under
preferences, it does not save the settings for next login. Every time users
login or come to homepage, they are having to select fields and ‘refresh’
table. I have tested this in multiple browsers. Nothing on support knowledge
base either.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts or suggestion to resolve the
issue will be appreciated. Screenshot attached.

I experienced this as well. It appears to be a permissions issue.
Administrators can save and the settings keep. That kind of made it difficult
to troubleshoot since I kept telling users that it was working fine because I
could not duplicate the issue. Finally I just hijacked a user’s ID and that’s
when the issue really popped.

So...anyone have any idea on when CMDB 7.6.04 SP3 is being released? I see
that the Remedy Server Sp3 has been released which is great...however it
doesnt solve this problem. And for the life of me I cannot find out when
BMC plan (or if they even are going to ) to release CMDB 7.6.40 SP3. Our
Support partner also cannot find out.

I honestly cannot wait for the next visit from a BMC representative so that
I can ask them to please explain to me how they expect us to plan our
roadmap, upgrades as well as resolve important bugs when they will not let
us know when a patch is expected. This error that we have is forcing us to
keep delaying our upgrade to 7.6.04 as we are waiting for SP3 and is giving
Remedy such a bad name it is past being funny. All the work that we have
done to build this product up as a reliable, fast solution is going out the
window.

 Hi

We have run into a wierd error that we cannot find any reference to on the
ARSList, Manuals or Support web. Hopefully someone here can offer some
suggestions on what we can try next as we are quickly running out of ideas
and have tried this upgrade a few times.

Firstly some background information. We have a Test server running Windows
Server 2008 Enterprise with a seperate DB Server running SQL 2008. We also
have a third server acting as a Mid Tier server also running Windows Server
 2008.

We are testing our upgrade strategy on upgrading from ARS Core 7.5 Patch
 003, CMDB 7.6 Patch 001 to ARS Core 7.6.04 SP2 and CMDB 7.6.04 SP2. We are
also running ITSM 7.6 and SRM 7.6 Patch 001 however these 2 applications
will only be upgraded at a later stage and we want to leave them on their
 current versions.

Now, we have run the Upgrade for ARS core to 7.6.04 SP2 with no errors.
Every looks and works as expected. We then ran the ugprade for CMDB to
7.6.04 SP2 which also completed successfully. The mid tier server is also
ugprade to 7.6.04 SP2 and all applications (Incident, Problem, Change, SRM)
are working correctly, with the exception to this one problem.

When we click on any CI in the Asset Management Application and click on
the *Explore CI*' option, the BMC Atrium Explorer opens and attempts to
load some screens - however we then get this error - Error when calling
 getRelatedComponentsAndRelationshipsOverlay

We have run into a wierd error that we cannot find any reference to on the
ARSList, Manuals or Support web. Hopefully someone here can offer some
suggestions on what we can try next as we are quickly running out of ideas and
have tried this upgrade a few times.

Firstly some background information. We have a Test server running Windows
Server 2008 Enterprise with a seperate DB Server running SQL 2008. We also have
a third server acting as a Mid Tier server also running Windows Server 2008.

We are testing our upgrade strategy on upgrading from ARS Core 7.5 Patch 003,
CMDB 7.6 Patch 001 to ARS Core 7.6.04 SP2 and CMDB 7.6.04 SP2. We are also
running ITSM 7.6 and SRM 7.6 Patch 001 however these 2 applications will only
be upgraded at a later stage and we want to leave them on their current
versions.

Now, we have run the Upgrade for ARS core to 7.6.04 SP2 with no errors. Every
looks and works as expected. We then ran the ugprade for CMDB to 7.6.04 SP2
which also completed successfully. The mid tier server is also ugprade to
7.6.04 SP2 and all applications (Incident, Problem, Change, SRM) are working
correctly, with the exception to this one problem.

When we click on any CI in the Asset Management Application and click on the
Explore CI' option, the BMC Atrium Explorer opens and attempts to load some
screens - however we then get this error - Error when calling
getRelatedComponentsAndRelationshipsOverlay

Any suggestions or advice on where we can start looking? We did orginally have
some custom attributes on the CMDB which we no longer needed so we removed them
before we start the upgrade. In fact, we WANT the CMDB to overwrite any of the
base forms that may have been customized, although we did not make any such
changes
etc.https://communities.bmc.com/communities/servlet/JiveServlet/showImage/2-220993-25778/Error.jpg

I have reviewed the installation guides, troubleshooting guide and searched the
ARS List and Support web and cannot find anyone else that is having this
problem which makes we want to start researching flights to Mexico as my next
step

AR Server Hanging on ARS 7.6.04 SP2

2012-01-31 Thread Bob Jewell
Has anyone else experience this issue where the Remedy users are unable to
access any applications from the web or user tool. This seems to happen to us
once a week since installing SP 2 for AR Server. We are running AR server on a
Windows 2008 R2 server with MS SQL 2008 R2 database.

2012-01-31 Thread Axton
Most everyone on the list has experienced that at one point or another.
Look in the arerror.log and see if there is a stack trace or report of a
crash of arserverd. That is the most common cause: arserver crashes,
armonitor restarts, while starting up, the application server is
inaccessible. Short of that, take a look at your server statistics and see
if there are queue blocked items. There are many more potential causes.
Check those first as they are the most common causes.

Data Import Tool 7.6.04 SP2

2012-01-25 Thread Kemes, Lisa
Seems like the new Data Import tool is case sensitive when it comes to field
names (the old is not - 7.1 patch 7).

When I auto map (or Add All) in the old tool, it didn't matter what the
case was, as long as it was the field name.

So, in the old tool (7.1 p7) User ID maps to User Id when I click on Add
All, but it doesn't automatically map in the 7.6.04 sp2 data import tool, you
will have to manually map it. Yuck.

I know I can create a mapping file and use that (so I don't have to keep
remembering which fields are not in the proper case even though they are the
same name), and I will if I have to, but it's still a pain.

Is there any way to turn this off? (the case sensitivity?)

Alert_User Hack in 7.6.04 SP2

2012-01-20 Thread Wilson, Bruce B
We are upgrading from 7.1.00 P007 to ARSytem 7.6.04 SP2.

In 7.1.00 P007, I would query the Remedy Alert_User table to retrieve the list
of users who were logged onto the Alert tool with an active session.
I would then present the list to the user, giving them the option of picking
one or more users from the list and sending an alert to them.

In 7.60.04 SP2, the Alert_User table is no longer available (the installation
package must have deleted it when upgrading our ARSystem database).
Yes...I know it was an internal table subject to change...and it changed by
disappearing!

Does anyone have a workaround or a formal way of doing this 7.6.04 SP2?
Thanks for your help!
