CS[List Owner] Mike Monett

2012-05-15 Thread M. G. Devour
Dear group,

Thanks to the several of you who sent me heads-up messages.

Mike M. appears to have suffered another of his periodic meltdowns and
has resorted to inexcusable ad-hominem attacks.

As well, given the rarity of my appearances here of late, he seems to
have developed a sense of mission to protect the group from any
opinions other than his own, leading to a general stifling of healthy
discussion -- to the point that one member expressed to me their
dismay that I had left him in charge of the group... sigh.

He has done some interesting and challenging work, and it would be good
to be able to continue to learn from his results. Though blessedly rare
here, this is not the first case where the dissemination of promising
information has foundered on the rocks of a failure of diplomacy or
cooperation.

I've removed and blocked him from the list, until such time as he
convinces me he's sorted out his internal problems, coming to
understand what behavior is expected of our members, and that he can
share his results without allusions to omniscience or exclusive truth.

Sorry for the delay in responding, and my frequent absence. I continue
to be preoccupied with several health issues (not addressible by CS
use, unfortunately). While I am making progress, ongoing vision
problems prevent me from doing more than sampling list traffic, so it's
easy to miss things, including the overall drift of the atmosphere of
the place. I'm sorry I let that occur in this instance.

Thank you all for your patience and allowing me to rely on your steady
mindfulness of each others' wellbeing and the purpose of the group.

Be well,

Mike D.

CS[List Owner] Don't Go? How 'bout don't argue?

2012-01-28 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

Thought I'd step in here before things deteriorated. Thanks to the
couple of you who gave me a heads-up on the situation.

D. Glover,

First, I think you've mis-connected two different folks. Neville, with
whom you seem to have a disagreement, is NOT the fellow who mentioned
the meter that he sells. That's Trem Williams, a seasoned member of the
list and one of the very small handful of manufacturers of CS
generators who has proven over the years to be temperamentally suited
to long-term participation in our group. He shares what he knows
without undue self-promotion, and his input is *always* welcome.

Neville doesn't sell anything as far as I know. He's just a punter,
as he describes it, like most of us on the list. grin

The point he was making is that our interests here tend to gravitate
towards a simpler, home-user approach that does not demand the strict
reproduceability or demanding production standards that hospital use
would. I make my CS on the kitchen table in a quart canning jar, and it
works just fine, thank you!

I've had to crack the whip over Neville once or twice in the past for
his less-than-diplomatic approach, and this may be the latest occasion
for me to do just that. but I think it could be very valuable to you to
realize that for the people on this list, in terms of the consensus of
nearly a decade and a half of experience and study, a couple of the
things you have taken to be true are not applicable to the kind of CS
preparation we are talking about here.

Our more technically inclined members have, over time, gravitated
towards a lower current density for production than you're using --
high surface area, low current, longer brew time. The result, i.e.,
what Neville is labelling as properly made CS, does NOT require
storage in the dark, appears to NOT be effected by magnets, remains
stable for months and even years (after a couple of days to stabilize
its composition), and has proven for hundreds of users to be perfectly
effective and functional.

And if you inquire, I'm sure one or more of our resident experts will
share their best understanding of exactly what it is that's made by
this process and why it appears to be stable and effective.

Admittedly, given the state of public- and corporate-funded research in
this world, the CS we make is not anywhere near as well characterized
or it's activitiy as fully understood as we'd all like, but I'm sure
that's a situation with which you are *very* familiar. We have some
pretty good guesses, though, as you will find if you ask.

Neville? Please don't impute motives to Mr. Glover that obviously don't
apply. He's not selling anything and does not intend to mislead
anybody. And your tone can be enough to get anybody's back up, so
don't take that as further proof of said ulterior motives.

Meanwhile, Mr. Glover, please understand that an important PART of the
mission of this list is to encourage new folks to make and use their
own CS, and that the extra effort you expend in your production process
would only serve to discourage the average new person from even
attempting it. While I appreciate and respect the virtues of the
generator design you've developed, I'd rather a hundred folks make it
in a jar on the kitchen counter than only one of them surviving to
implement the level of production controls that you have.

Once they've got something that works, they can always improve things
later, right?

As for the list mission, it most certainly includes anything you'd care
to share with us as to clinical applications and results you've managed
to facilitate. That kind of experience is priceless, and I wish you the
best of success in your efforts.

So, can we declare a truce and perhaps initiate a new process of mining
the brain trust here, for everyone's benefit?

Peace,

Mike D.

'Should we let this die a natural death now?' You say. Understand
this; (you don't seem to be able to understand this point which I have
already made) a guy asked about uS readings, and he did not even refer
to the meter you sell at all, which I never even knew existed either, so
you have no cause to feel personally vilified in some way by my advice
to that gentleman concerning TDS meters. Rightly, you should have
written directly to educate firstly that man who asked that question by
letting him, and everyone else via your communication to him, that you
produce a different type of meter that you believe can resolve his
problem, then you could have recommended your product to him, if that is
something that is acceptable on this forum, but that is what you did in
a devious and thoroughly unpleasant and round about manner anyway after
you attacked my understanding and methodology of making silver sol, and
you are trying to sell something here, not me, you are the person with
commercial products for sale, not me.

Subject:A glimmer of hope

Over the past six months I have been working with a group of terminally
ill people. I was asked to provide some help when a drug, currently in
Phase II clinical trials, provided not only a stop of the progression
of this disease, but some people were actually regaining function that
they had previously lost as a result of the disease.

The drug is NP001. It is made from a chemical that many may be
familiar with, sodium chlorite.

The problem with a drug trial is that they exclude people from the
trial. Efforts were made to broaden the acceptance criteria, some
progress was made, but still many were left out of the trial. While
the main reason was that they lived in an area that was outside the
trial locations, another reason was the progression of the disease in
their bodies.

NP001 is administered via IV injection. I explained that there is more
than one way to get chlorite into the body and that while it is not as
efficient as IV injection, drinking a solution of chlorite will result
in some chlorite getting into the blood stream.

A group of these people suffering from this disease decided to run an
experiment on themselves. Efforts have been made to get the medical
community involved and these have not been totally successful, so far.
They have provided support in the form of check ups and blood work
designed to monitor for any adverse effects of participating in the
experiment, but ethics and legal ramifications prevent them from
getting too involved with this.

A research neurologist was kind enough to explain to me that anecdotal
evidence over a period of days to weeks is usually thought of as being
the result of the placebo effect. However, anecdotal evidence that
continues to show positive results with the same people over a period
of months to years is much harder to dismiss as placebo. Testing done
that supports the positive effect also helps. I was also informed that
when the results are spectacular the general bias is to question the
original diagnosis.

This experiment is coming up on six months now. The positive benefits
seem to be holding on, so I think there is now a glimmer of hope.

Keep in mind that the group involved in this experiment is small.
There are about 35 people that are openly vocal about it, and about
that number again that are quietly participating. Also, not everyone
is showing improvement.

Not knowing a lot about this disease I asked the group this question.

Chlorite is a free radical oxidizer. It does nothing to rebuild the
body. What are you going to do to rebuild your bodies after the
progression of this disease is slowed down or stopped?

The answer I received was. Well, the question was not
answered.

I asked again.

This time I was informed that nothing had ever been successful in
stopping the progression of this disease, so this question had never
come up.

During this holiday time it is very exciting to see this glimmer of
hope permeate the group, and to see some of their focus change to how
to rebuild the body.

The changes are not drastic, but incremental. No one has jumped out of
a wheel chair and started running down the street. However, to someone
who has lost function in their hands or arms or legs, suddenly having
some function restored and seeing this restored function continue over
time is remarkable.

On May 2 1939 Lou Gehrig benched himself after playing 2130
consecutive baseball games with the NY Yankees. His health had
deteriorated to the point where he was no longer able to play well.
Addressing the crowd before a July 4 1939 game, Lou Gehrig told people
that he was the Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth. Two years
later on June 2 1941 Lou Gehrig died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

ALS is the illness that the people involved with this experiment are
suffering from.

This glimmer of hope started with the drug trial that lead to the oral
experiment. The purpose of the experiment is to help people live long
enough to be able to use the drug. There appears to be a willingness
of the FDA to speed things along, but the process will most likely take
a few years and people who are diagnosed with ALS have an average
expected life span of three years. I don't think the FDA can speed
things along that fast.

In loose side to side comparisons it appears that the drug is far more
effective. The oral solution helps and seems to be able to halt or
radically slow down the progression of ALS, but the results from the
drug

RE: CS0.3uS Distilled water at Savemart

2011-10-28 Thread M. G. Devour
Dear Dee, PT,

Others will chime in on this as well, but I'll be the first... grin

Since your meter only measures ions in the water, things that dissolve
without becoming ions are not measured. Try adding some sugar to
distilled water. Does the reading go up? (Be sure to thoroughly rinse
the end of your meter afterwards.) Sugar dissolves, but the molecules
stay in one piece, rather than breaking up into ions.

On the other hand, salt, sodium chloride, NaCl, breaks up into Na+ and
Cl- ions, which your meter *will* detect. Silver ions, Ag+ are also
detected, but neutral silver species, Ag(metal) and maybe certain
oxides and other chemical forms, wont be.

The other concern is that even ionic forms of extremely potent toxins
could be present in dangerous amounts that are below the detection
range of your meter, as well. How much plasticizer is too much, eh? I
don't know. Got plutonium oxide? Nasty stuff, and dangerously toxic in
amounts way smaller than a fraction of a ppm, totally apart from it's
radiological properties.

So, while none of this says that you *have* any contaminants in your
water, your meter readings aren't conclusive evidence that you don't --
just that it's probably good enough, all other things being equal and
with reasonable care being taken.

Dave's point about plasticizers is a reasonable one. Distilled water is
really one of the toughest storage problems you'll commonly come
across. You just have to decide for yourself if the plasticizer issue
is important enough to you to justify the additional expense and
effort.

Peace,

Mike D.

 This is my experience also.

Hi folks,

Whew!

Mike M. has safely unsubbed from the group, and I wish him well in his
venture.

That got a bit out of hand near the end, while my attention was
elsewhere. Sorry. Thanks for handling it as well as you all did. sigh

I only hope that he will now accomplish the stated goals of his efforts
and publish a free design that folks can test and verify. If it works
significantly better than other equally simple designs, great.

If there's something better waiting to be found, that is a wonderful
thing. Meanwhile, we have the good results and extensive experience of
the last, what, 14 years or so? Improvements to that record will indeed
need to be something very good.

I would appreciate if those interested in following his development
work report back here from time to time to keep us informed.

Here's hoping letting ourselves be picked over for ideas did some good.

CS[List Owner] Caution, please... Mike, David, Jason, others...

2011-09-14 Thread M. G. Devour
Greetings folks! Long time since I've had to wade into the list on this
kind of mission! Thank you for that fact, and to the several members
who gave me the heads-up so promptly.

In catching up with the messages I was a bit surprised and disappointed
to see the first intemperate remarks coming from Jason, of all people,
in his too-vigorous rebuttal of Mike Monett's speculations about
possible hazards of nebulizing CS.

(Jason, if by chance the order of things in my mail program distorted
the sequence of events and you feel there was some other provocation
besides his nebulizing assertion, feel free to let me know.)

I tend to agree that nebulizing has an excellent track record, and that
Mike's statements were an example of unwarranted certituded by logic
rather than empirical evidence: Much clinical AND anecdotal experience
plus known information about the actual solubility of the supposedly
insoluble silver compounds involved, lead me to doubt Mike's
assertions.

Here's the problem when folks with a lot of training, experience,
and/or expertise with overlapping but not congruent competencies start
stepping into each others' areas of interest and on each others' toes:
The next thing you know we've got external genital appendages wagging
around and egos engaged, and all progress goes out the window!

Stop it!

Now, Mike, I want to address you specifically:

I think your specifications for the device are wonderfully crafted and
your intention of releasing it to the public domain and seeking its
widespread use by the neediest are an exquisite example of the merging
of responsible engineering and activism. Thank you, it's a good plan.

But keep in mind that the universe and the powers that be will be more
than happy to sabotage such humane intentions and the first place it
will try to do this is within you...

Want to collaborate successfully with folks from this group? Use our
forum to help promote your project? Great! You're welcome.

DON'T, however, let yourself succumb to the temptation to engage with
both fists the moment somebody steps on your toes. People WILL disagree
on things, including things you hold dear. Let them. The truth will
carry the day, for or against your ideas. That's as it should be.

Your nastiness to David A. was uncalled for and unprovoked. He's well
within the charter of the group, and you're not the referee of what's
appropriate, nor are you in a competent position to judge the
circumstances he is dealing with. Be supportive or leave it be.

Jonathan effectively raised the same reasonable questions about
nebulizing peroxide that you are concerned with -- without the ad-
hominem that sabotages your credibility and effectiveness.

Take his example to heart.

All right, I used all the big words I could think of, just to make sure
all you experts could 'grok' what I'm saying. grin Let's see if we
can actually stay on target and stop chaos from winning, just this
once, okay?

 Never had a gut problem.

Well, hearing all the contra-experiences, makes me wonder if it was
because I was doing that back in the bad old days before we'd refined
the methods we now use to make our CS/EIS.

The stuff I had been using at that time was probably higher ppm and
more particulate than the low ppm ionic stuff we're making now. So just
maybe I'd sent enough non-reactive large silver particles through the
stomach to make it to the intestine, where it was just barely soluble
enough to do the deed.

I'll tell you, though, when you wipe your flora, you might be good for
a few days, but some of those bugs are needed to properly assimilate
some of your essential B-vitamins and calcium. When I started getting
continuous cramps in the big muscles of my upper legs as well as just
about everywhere else, I darn well knew something was amiss.

Turns out that's a perfect description of the symptoms of severe
calcium deficiency, and calcium uptake requires the proper flora. So I
sent my wife to the store to buy me one of those calcium supplemented
orange juices. A couple of cups of that and within an hour or two the
acute phase passed and my muscles were happy again. whew!

Okay, then I can see how you might feel the response in your message
above was provoked. It's just that you'd handled the previous exchanges
in the thread so graciously I guess I missed the sound of gritted
teeth. sigh

If I can't tell someone in a stern polite voice that I don't appreciate
being personally insulted, and that I'm done with the situation, I'm not
sure what you'd expect me to do.

I think by the time you got to this message, you had ample
justification, if it's the one you're talking about...

http://www.mail-archive.com/silver-list@eskimo.com/msg142579.html

If you look at the comments he made to Jonathan and David, they are not
only equally unjustified, but very bullying.

Agreed.

I don't like bullies, and I don't tolerate bullying, even when the
 school principal isn't looking.

Please take a few moments and review Mike's posts for the last two days.

Done, believe me.

Thanks for helping me understand.

Re: CSUltrasonic cleaner trouble

2011-05-12 Thread M. G. Devour
Sorry Mike, I meant with no items in ie jewelry etc., just fluid.

Ahh, that's sensible! lol

I don't see why it should break the unit(s). I've run proper
professional units with just water in them for extended periods without
problems. I can't imagine that the lecithin is going to cause a
problem, but without testing, how could we know?

My suspicion is you got a couple of bad units... but that seems so
unlikely if they're indeed a solid brand.

If you get to try another one, try running it for an hour with just
water, first?

sigh Dunno what else to say...

...except, good luck with the Harbor Freight unit!

Peace,

Mike D.

Normally there would be items in the cleaner with the water and, not
being technical, I was just wondering whether that would make a
difference. No, I always go way past the minimum level. I'm getting more
convinced of it being a problem with the lecithin. The last machine a
tried was a bona fide professional cleaner with a 60 minute timer and 2
year guarantee. That was broken in little over 15 minutes of continuous
use and the tank temperature was below 30 degrees when it was designed
to go up to 80 degrees (Centigrade).

CSThank you...

2011-05-11 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi everyone,

Thank you to all for your prayers and good wishes for my brother, et.
al.

He came through the procedure well. The doctor was able to place a
stent in the biggest of the three occluded grafts, which, combined with
the other successful graft, has restored more than 50% circulation to
the heart. He will go back for additional stents to be inserted in one
or both the remaining grafts after he's had a month for his kidneys to
recover from the iodine (dye) they inject to visualize the arteries,
and to otherwise recover his strength and heal.

He's home now and bouncing back much more quickly than he did from the
initial bypass surgery. I've been preparing his meals and making sure
he gets his various meds, though at the rate he's improving I expect
him to take over much of this relatively soon.

He saw his surgeon today and got good marks for the healing of his
incisions. They are giving him much less pain and discomfort,
thankfully.

Now, how can he actually clean out his arteries and prevent a
recurrence of this nonsense? He's been using the Pauling protocol for
several years, and though it maybe slowed things down, it certainly
didn't fix it all.

Again, thank you everyone. That procedure had to go well or things
could have gone downhill rapidly. It was comforting to know you were
with us.

Peace,

Mike D.

Umm, Richard, what did you mean by there's nothing in the tank?

An ultrasonic cleaner does need to be full to the minimum operating

CSPrayer request...

2011-05-03 Thread M. G. Devour
Hello folks,

One of the reasons I've been so quiet lately is that we're dealing with
my brother's health situation.

He's undergoing a critical cardiac procedure this morning, to attempt
to open and place stents in at least three of the grafts he received
during a quadruple bypass operation 2-1/2 weeks ago, which evidently
collapsed starting Sunday morning.

He's only 60 years old, and a basically good, gentle person, often
bemused by this thing called... life. I've asked that divine healers
and the Christ attend him along with his worldly doctors. Please send
him your prayers and well-wishes.

Thank you.

RE: CSWet weight?

2011-03-02 Thread M. G. Devour
Dear Neville,

As Marshall has noted, one of your sources of error would be the
syringe... It is unlikely you can measure the 5 cc's of water
repeatedly to within the accuracy of the scale, let alone measure the
addition of a few micrograms of silver on a balance that is accurate
only to milligrams.

A good exercise would be to just measure out 5 cc's of distilled water
five different times and see how much variation you get within just
that operation alone.

If you're talking 10ppm CS, that's 10 milligrams of silver in a liter,
or 50 micrograms per 5 cc's. So, the difference in mass between 5 grams
of water and 5 grams of water PLUS 50 micrograms of silver would
probably be WAY less than your errors in measuring out the water,
totally apart from the resolution of the scale, which wouldn't be able
to even see the silver weight.

It's a worthwhile experiment, and can teach a lot about orders of
magnitude, and the precision and accuracy of measurments. These are
essential to all science.

Peace,

Mike D.

Hope this doesn't come thru twice, had to cut.

 Yep, sure.

 2 Different solutions used: (a) 19 days old @ 12.1uS/006-7ppm, (b) 3
 days old @ 18.5uS/009-010ppm.

Step 1: Ensure digital scale was zero'd and reading in grams. Praps I
could have used 'ct' or 'gs' {which I assume is 'grain'} or 'dwt' {don't
know what that is} Step 2: Weigh empty 30ml plastic medicine cup. Step
3: Syringe 5cc/ml plain DW into cup...weigh that, then subtracted cup
weight from DW. Step 4: Empty and dry cup thoroughly. Step 5: Syringe
5cc/ml EIS into cup...weight that, then subtracted cup weight from EIS.
Step 6: Subtact this result from the other.

How long after one has put DMSO on skin would it still have carrying
potential? EG., if I put DMSO and CS on a wound on my hand and later

I don't really have enough knowledge of its action to say for sure. I
would imagine that Sandy's suggestion (when it's dry) is probably safe.

I notice that it does remain tacky or a bit damp feeling for quite a
while, moreso than just with water.

CS[List Owner] A few things...

2011-01-26 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

First, a reminder to those who are experimenting with DMSO:

If anything you mix with it is made up of small enough molecules, it
WILL go directly into the cells of your body. If it is toxic, you could
have an extremely dangerous situation.

So, make sure you KNOW what's in any ingredients you add to a
preparation containing DMSO. If you cannot be sure that it is either
safe to transport directly into every cell of your body, or certain
that it is too big to be transported, DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE.

Please.

If anybody thinks I'm overstating the danger, please let me know.

As for the, ahem, impolite exit of one member a couple of days ago, my
apologies. After all that they seemed to have managed to get
*themselves* unsubscribed... which I find amusing.

Normally if I detect anybody having difficulties I can deal with them
in a timely fashion. This one apparently didn't manage to do anything
to stand out from the spam in my in-box... y'know, like e-mailing the
list owner or something... sigh

Another item, briefly: Please refrain from comments regarding your
negative feelings towards other list members. I do NOT want to hear
such remarks on the list. You're welcome to leave if you find the
company unappealing.

If you have such concerns you cannot deal with on your own, please
contact me to discuss them. If there's anything I can do to help, I
will consider it.

Finally, let's not get too involved in talking about... ummm, lessee...
oh, how 'bout aliens? Thanks!

Re: CSneed info on silver NOT killing beneficial bacteria

2010-12-30 Thread M. G. Devour
I'm guessing people might be busy with the holidays right now, but I
need some information quickly. Do any of you good folks have access to
studies showing that colloidal silver does NOT kill beneficial bacteria?

Dear Nenah,

I won't be able to give you any scholarly citations, but I'll happily
recap the consensus opinion...

As far as we know, silver will kill any bacterium, regardless of cell
morphology, if it gets into contact with it.

The only known exceptions to this are strains of bacteria that have
been detected near silver deposits in the ground -- and *they* lose
their adaptation to high-silver environments within a very few
generations of removal from those conditions. It's not a true
resistance.

The important word in the first paragraph is, 'contact.' The silver has
to be able to reach the pathogen in order to kill it. In a liquid
medium, silver performs superbly against all types, while in a solid or
semi-solid medium, kill rates and percentages will be much lower to
negligible unless very large amounts are used.

An example of this was early confusion over why agar-plate tests tended
to show spotty results. When the tests were repeated using nutrient
broth as a medium, silver performance was consistently superb.

The idea that silver spares good bacteria is, I believe, an attempt
to explain observed performance that falls short of identifying the
actual mechanism of action...

The intestines and colon are filled with faeces that is generally not
in a liquid state. Mobility is normally low. Silver that makes it into
the gut, either passing through without having been absorbed, or being
excreted via the liver, does not have the opportunity to reach the
entire volume of the medium and tends to kill at much lower rates.

On the other hand, in conditions such as food poisoning or dysintery,
when bowel contents are in fact liquid, one can achieve very good kill
rates and overall performance, resulting in a rapid cure.

I can personally attest to the fact that if you take enough CS to
overwhelm the friendly flora it *will* kill it! During one episode, I
had been taking very large doses of CS for a number of days. I began to
suffer extensive, bone-deep aches and pains throughout my major muscle
groups, going so far as to threaten my ability to walk.

When I discovered that my symptoms were identical to acute calcium
deficiency and that calcium absorption is facilitated by the normal
bacterial flora in the intestines, I resolved my problems within an
hour or two by taking a bio-available calcium supplement. I then
proceeded to rebuild my flora and fully recovered.

So, when you're sick, with bad bugs in the gut, CS is able to get to
them to kill them. When you're healthy, any reasonable dose of CS will
be sufficiently immobilized in the semi-solid medium of normal bowel
contents so as to be relatively ineffective in attacking the good
bugs. Thus, you have the appearance of CS favoring one kind of bacteria
over another.

But, take enough CS to kill 'em despite the mobility issue, and the
good bugs will be destroyed just as effectively, with the same
potential for complications that always accompany the over-use of anti-
microbials.

I don't personally know whether there is *some* difference in kill
rates between bacteria with different cell wall types, or any other
distinctions, either, but I believe such effects are far outstripped by
the question of mobility and ability to contact the pathogen.

I hope that explanation is persuasive. Perhaps other members have some
references at hand as well.

Peace,

Mike D.

For all of you who enjoy holidays of various sorts at this time of

For any new members or lurkers wondering, Where's all the information

Let me explain that most of the regulars here already have had their
questions answered long ago, and thus don't *need* to talk about CS
amongst themselves very much. So, unless you let us know what kind of
information you're looking for, the conversation will continue to bob
and weave among whatever health-related topics people have on their
minds. I don't mind this so long as it doesn't swamp people's efforts
to get information when they *do* ask for it.

So, please let us know you're there and what kind of questions you need
answered right now, so we can help... And, welcome aboard.

Address your questions to silver-list@eskimo.com ...

RE: CSMercury Filling vit C

2010-11-03 Thread M. G. Devour
A couple of cautions:

Don't take oral vitamin C before the procedure, as it will make the
novocaine less effective. That's why IV C during or immediately after
the procedure is preferred.

I don't remember how long before the procedure you'd want to stop
taking any oral C, but if I had to guess on the basis of my vague
recollection, it would probably be at least 12 hours. Maybe somebody
else knows this?

Lacking the IV option, hopefully liposomal encapsulated C will serve.

The other caution is this: If this is your last or only mercury
containing filling, once it is removed be prepared for your body to
begin to mobilize the mercury you've absorbed over the years in an
attempt to get rid of it now that you're not under the daily assault of
ongoing exposure.

Once the new exposure stops, your body will change gears and start
trying to get rid of it. The problem is the eliminative pathways are so
inefficient that blood levels of mercury will climb and you'll be at
risk of toxic effects as bad or worse than if you left the filling in
place.

To combat this, you'll want to actively pursue therapies to help your
body eliminate mercury faster, such as daily FIR sauna or other means
of sweating copiously, oral chelation therapies, etc...

Peace,

Mike D.

What about regular vit C in large doses or powdered acerola? Jess

   Hi Pat,

Some doctors will give vitamin C by IV after mercury-filling removal
   to
chelate the mercury that is freed by the dental procedure. You could
make your own liposomal Vitamin C for this purpose, instead of IV.

CSCleaning jar...

2010-10-15 Thread M. G. Devour
Another suggestion for you, Melly...

If you've started to get enough plating out of silver on the inside of
the jar that it might be lowering the resistance seen by the power
supply and boosting the current to unreasonable levels... you should be
able to remove it by rinsing the jar with hydrogen peroxide.

Just a dollop of the standard stuff from the drug store, followed with
a few swishes of distilled, should eliminate any conductive coating
from the inside of the jar. Repeat occasionally.

Best of luck to you.

Mike D.

Ok, i will keep my electrodes further, bend the  ends also. I have also
cut a new wire to make it longer.  I have a timer already set by Utopia.
I will try again. I did not have this problems before.  Would the
thickness/gauge of the wire make a difference?  I am using a gauge 10
now, pretty thick.  The new cut wire is gauge 14.   Thanks for your
 assistance.   Melly

Re: CSIntermittent e-mail service

2010-10-13 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi Dan,

It has been a fairly quiet day, but I've also gotten a report from
another member that Gmail is treating list messages as SPAM. I
confirmed this with my Gmail account. When I logged into the web
interface, the last day or two's worth of silver list messages were in
the SPAM folder.

The first thing to try is to mark them and push the Not SPAM button, to
see if we can start to un-train gmail's filters.

It's always been the case with the larger, web-based e-mail providers,
that users sign up for the list, can't figure out why they're getting
all this mail they don't understand, and then mark it as SPAM rather
than unsubscribe using the correct mechanism. Then their system starts
to trap the same mail for other users who want it.

That may be the problem here... Or else, some over-aggressive algorithm
is catching the volume of list-mail on their system and mistaking it
due to formatting similarities...

You might want to investigate the gmail tech support options. If they
have some other mechanism for dealing with such problems, besides the
'not-spam' button, it would be worth trying.

Please let me know how it goes.

Mike D.

 Mike,

I have been noticing that I'm not getting all the posts from the
 silver_list.

Since I'm on gmail I wouldn't think that there should be any problem on
 this side.

 Dan

CSWARNING! from list owner

2010-10-04 Thread M. G. Devour
I'm always amazed at the difference 24 hours can make. Things weren't
going too bad, until somebody decided they are going to try to run the
list for me.

Robert offered what I would consider a prescription for a spiritual
healing modality, little different than EFT or Reiki or other 'energy
healing' or otherwise non-physical techniques that sometimes pop up in
discussions here.

As odd as it may seem to those who are particularly sensitive to the G-
word, it was actually a technical post, if largely off topic.

I never have and do not now intend for those types of contributions to
become a frequent feature of the list or to overwhelm our discussions.

That said, Robert's infraction of the list rules was of such a
negligible nature that I would only have cautioned him about it,
gently, and only if he'd showed signs of making a habit of it.

The response to Robert's post by Dave and a few others is a more
serious problem.

The list rule prohibiting discussion of religion and politics is not
intended as a WEAPON to be used by members to enforce THEIR will on
other members, but a tool for each member to guide their OWN behavior.

Dave labelling Robert's post as ... a bunch of obscene bull shit is
an attack that is entirely out of proportion to the provocation and not
behavior I intend to tolerate toward *ANY* of my members.

First and most obvious, Dave does NOT run the list, I do. It's not his
or any other member's job to discipline other members or to complain
about their behavior on-list. Such public complaints are disruptive in
themselves and are also clearly against the same rules he was so quick
to invoke.

Your job as members is to contact me privately when, in your opinion,
something is going wrong on the list. I will happily accept such input
and use it to guide my moderation, many times acting behind the scenes
to coach people toward the expected behavior.

That's my job, use me.

Second, the prohibition on discussions of religion, spirtuality, or the
metaphysical is not the same as intolerance OF those beliefs. As I say
in the list rules...

I am not asking you to de-God everything you say, do or think,
however. Brief greetings, thanks, and prayer requests or offerings are
acceptable. The occasional God bless, or you're in our prayers
will not be seen as a transgression.

Yes, Robert's offering was outside those guidelines and not the kind of
thing I am going to encourage routinely, but I will also not allow the
creation of an environment which is HOSTILE to those who so believe.

Intolerance of spirituality is no better or worse in my eyes, as the
person who has to moderate the discussion, than the religious
intolerance that causes such topics to rapidly descend to the very
flames of hell in the first place.

So...

Tolerance is called for on both sides... ALL sides.

Public complaints about other members' behavior or actions are not
appropriate or allowed.

Aggressive behavior toward other members, who are also my guests here,
is *still* prohibited.

Lastly, since at least one person mentioned it, let me remind you all
that I also consider assaultive or aggressive behavior in private e-
mail to other members inappropriate. If you receive such items and they
concern you, let me know. Participation in this list should not result
in anyone being subjected to such things.

For your reference, the list rules reside at www.silverlist.org ...
Please re-read them and contact me if you have any further questions.

Let the thread die now. Don't respond if somebody else does before they
see this message. It may take another day or two for it to completely
end. Let it.

Thank you,

Mike Devour

I have asked this thread to be ended.

Please understand that some will reply to the thread before seeing my

At worst, some may try to get a last word in...

When I ask for a thread to end, that means not replying if somebody

CSHelp with tooth extraction pain

2010-09-27 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

This bounced for being too big. I've trimmed quoted text and forwarded
it for Sunny... as I think she deserved a break. smile

Thank you for all you do to help, everyone.

Peace,

Mike D.

--- Forwarded message follows ---

Folks, thank you all so much for your wisdom. I have done some bad
things in relation to this tooth, like smoking, and eating MM's and
cookies... yes.. I felt bad..it was comfort stuff.. and every bite of
every bit of food hurt... and I just felt so depressed.. [times are
really though as it is without this] but no excuse..

However, reading all the advice, I realize that I must take the road to
healing now... The tooth is I suspect infected, but not with dry
socket..it's not oozing, it's not bleeding, but there is a lot of
swelling.. I think just infection from the removal. The dentist did
not tell me much and I was too woozy and overwhelmed to ask...

The pain is now pretty bad.. BUT I just read all of your mails... and
immediately drank the MMS I had prepared and not drunk cos there was no
stuff to make it taste better.. it's not THAT bad with water.. 10
drops.. THEN I swilled down a glass of CS.. swilled one in my mouth...
and set the machine to make more.

Gonna get to making the home made zapper tomorrow...[we do have some
kind of electrode massager that my husband has had for ages... his ex
used to use it for her wrinkles!] and meanwhile... have to take
painkillers to sleep as no sleep = low immune system = even harder to
work on..

AND I also took an antibiotic. I had a pack of antiboics, a course,
given to me by a dentist friend just in case, a while ago... I held it
there.. I hummed and haaad and thought.. shall I shan't I.. and Mr PAIN
said you must... and I took one...gr

It's so crazy... I've been trying so hard... not to take any of this
stuff.. and going to the dentist, visiting an allopathic, and young,
cocky, I'm so smart, dentist... who had no idea about how to prepare
patients... and that we all need lots and lots of information... wow..
the info you all gave me really comforted and helped me..

Paula you sound like you should write a manual for dentists...I felt
like someone at last was telling me something I should have been told
by the dentist... I understood.. that this tooth was a particularly
hard one.. and that I would have liked to have been more prepared.. and
perhaps would have not been so stupid with what I put in my mouth..

I am so desperately in a transition from the old world, and all that
awful food and stuff.. to a new one where we are muchhealthier.. we've
had a relapse lately... [and me who was a raw foodie, non smoking
health fanatic] and this has made me sit up and become aware...

Much love to you all... pain getting really bad now so must go to
bed...
thanks sunny x

Re: CSContradicting info on CS and H2O2?

2010-08-30 Thread M. G. Devour
Here David, let me fix that for you! GRIN (typo police...)

 Question on H2O2 drops:

Say I wanted to **ADD** 1 drop of 35% H2O2 to 8 oz of CS. Is this the
 same as putting about 11 or 12 drops as 3% H2O2 (i.e. 35 divided by 3)?
Also, does it need to be food grade, or is the stuff form walgreen's
 okay?

Yes, that would be right, David; 11.667 drops of 3% to deliver as much
H2O2 as 1 drop of 35%.

The only concern with drug store stuff would be the stabilizers often
added to it. Some brands don't even have them, so check the labels and
see if you get lucky. They'd be mentioned if they're there.

Even with stabilizers, however, consider the dilutions you're talking
about:

At 600 drops per ounce (a round number) 12 drops of 3% H2O2 solution is
already diluted (in 8 ounces of water) to 2.5 ppm.

That means the H2O2 contained in that 3% solution would end up diluted
to 350 parts per billion in your final solution.

Unless the stabilizers are present in higher concentrations than the
peroxide is, then the above number is a good upper limit on their
possible concentration.

So I tend to doubt you'd be talking about any serious toxicity with the
kinds of chemicals that would be in a consumer product approved for
topical use. Of course, I could be wrong, so proceed at your own risk.

Be well,

Mike D.

Re: CS[List Owner]Archive listing on web site...

2010-08-28 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks!

First off, I hope David has been able to get into the web site and see
the change... It's working as far as I know, David. The problem you had
looks like it may have just been a transient.

Carol and others, I REALLY do understand the appeal of Yahoo or Google
groups as a platform for a forum like this, and I will continue to
consider them going forward, as a fallback if nothing else.

My most urgent reason for never going to one of those options before
now was a desire to never place us at the mercy of someone else's
opinion of whether our group deserved to exist, and, in the extreme
case, to not be one of the countless thousands of groups that would
instantly disappear if Somebody made a phone call and said, shut it all
down...

So, call me paranoid if you'd like, but that resolve is the main reason
we've continued to stumble along in this less-than-ideal state, trapped
between my desires for security and control, and my inability thus far
to implement one of the many superior options that are possible.

Hope springs eternal that as my health and mental agility continue to
improve, I will succeed in finding or building us a new home that will
be more to everyone's liking, mine included.

Meanwhile, I pray you will forgive me for my admitted shortcomings (to
accompany my acknowledged strengths, just so y'all don't have to say
it! grin) and continue to be patient with the clunky interface.

You all keep amazing me with your knowledge, generosity, cooperation,
and the timeliness of your suggestions! I can't count how often I've
seen the answer swing by in passing, just as I'd begun to research a
particular question! Amazing! smile

If anybody has a trustworthy, high-end web developer in their pocket,
willing to work for free or very near to it, y'all let me know, okay?

Re: CS[List Owner] Yahoo

2010-08-28 Thread M. G. Devour
Yep, I understand the appeal of the Yahoo Groups and similar platforms'
user and management interfaces. They've improved over the years and are
pretty darned good these days.

The best thing about them is you can still sign up for e-mails, if you
don't mind some advertising lumped in with your content, or you can
just as easily browse them at the web site.

If I could come up with a similar system that ran on a server that I
could control and have ownership of the subscriber list and messages, I
would be all over it like white on rice!

I'm definitely not saying I won't be making changes. As soon as
something good comes together, by whatever means, I'll make the move.
It's not happened yet, however.

Re: CSOT - Dental work - infection? - tx ideas?

2010-08-23 Thread M. G. Devour
Dear Jaxi,

One thing I learned from my dental revision, Jaxi, is that once the
last filling comes out of your mouth the absolute HIGHEST priority
becomes mercury detox. I mean it is URGENT!

Your body has been in full defensive mode ever since the first filling
went in however many years ago. Given the lack of effective pathways
for its elimination, all sorts of processes were activated to capture
and sequester that daily dose of mercury so it would do as little harm
as possible.

Now that you've removed the daily assault of *new* mercury, your body
will de-compensate and start trying to unload that entire burden of
stored mercury as quickly as it can. Unfortunately for you, it STILL
has no good way to get rid of the mercury! So the stuff will start
circulating and causing toxic damage everywhere, worse than you would
have had if you'd left your last filling in.

So now you need to start helping it, PRONTO, to get rid of the mercury
that is coming back into circulation.

Best and easiest would be a good sweat in a far infrared sauna, daily,
or as often as you can tolerate. Believe me, it will be worth it to buy
one of these! I'd have spared myself several years of torture if I had
bit the bullet and splurged on this so-called luxury item right
away.

If that's not possible, then get yourself some epsom salts, fill the
bath tub with water at 104 degrees Farenheit, or warmer if you can
handle it, dump in a few scoops of the salts, then soak in it for 20
minutes, working up a good sweat. Then drain and shower off.

Do this RELIGIOUSLY every 3 days and you should be able to stay ahead
of the detox and start to feel better. Slack off and you'll start to re-
toxify.

Get yourself a good electrolyte replacement beverage and you should be
able to do either of these more often and with greater comfort.

The common thread in these methods is sweating, of course. Sweating is
an effective pathway for mercury removal and will not only move more
mercury out faster but will take a load off your liver and kidneys,
too.

There are also other means to detox mercury... and if you're already on
top of this aspect of your recovery, then you'll want to pursue the
other suggestions that you're getting. If not, however, then this will
get you started, and we can explore other ways to deal with the cursed
stuff.

Please let us know what you need.

Peace,

Mike D.

Last Monday I had my last 2 old fillings replaced. Top left side of the
mouth. First molar and last molar.

Re: CSSinuses - neti pot?

2010-08-20 Thread M. G. Devour
The only problem with adding EIS/CS to the salt water in your neti
pot is that the silver will quickly combine with the chloride to make
silver chloride. That's not a bad thing, and it ought to still be
beneficial. It's sure a lot easier to handle on the nasal linings than
straight CS!

That's in contrast to the idea of *making* CS with salt in the water.
That drives the concentration and the particle size up *very* rapidly,
while also producing as much silver chloride as you have salt. Abused,
such CS has some potential for causing argyria.

Start with low concentration CS and mix it into salt water, the
concentration will still be in a safe range.

I've only used a neti pot some, so I hope others with more experience
than I have will chime in to straighten me out if I'm wrong! grin

Re: CStwice distilled water

2010-08-16 Thread M. G. Devour
Dear PT,

What I am interested in is how water that has been distilled can still
be producing contaminants? It was my understanding that once it was
 distilled it is contaminant free.

People used to use double distilled water when it had to be absolutely
as pure as possible. Nowadays, there are (big and expensive) systems of
cartridges used in lab and industrial settings that produce extremely
pure deionized water that is appropriate for those applications.

For us, double distilled is the most approachable way to get to that
level of purity... though you should ask yourself if you *really* need
that purity or if it's overkill.

Why wouldn't the first distillation cycle get everything?

Well, to start with, we've already talked about tossing off the first
bits of water from the distiller to get rid of any volatiles that came
off with the water and remain dissolved in the distillate.

Then we learned to leave behind the last of the water, rather than
boiling it off completely. This means that the resevoir doesn't need to
boil dry and get hotter in order for the temperature switch to
automatically shut down the heater. That makes it easier to clean out,
I'm sure, but *also* means that some of the higher boiling point
contaminants don't get a chance to evaporate and join with the last of
the condensate to contaminate the batch.

Both of these methods allow you to capture the purest portion of the
output stream.

Then there's not filling it all the way, which avoids the obvious
problem of boiling water *splashing* into the condenser.

The thing is that all of these processes are continuous... All the
volatiles don't come off at the same temperature or infinitely quickly,
and all of the possible contaminants have a perhaps small, but finite
and measurable evaporation rate at whatever temperature you're
operating. So, the whole while the water is being evaporated, at least
some traces of these other things are also making it across to the
output.

So a second cycle of distillation, just as carefully done as the first
(and *without* the output filter! grin) will simply take those
contaminant levels down by *another* factor of however many orders of
magnitude they came down with the first cycle, or at least close.

I hope that makes sense?

Peace,

Mike D.

CS[List Owner] Mentioning products...

2010-08-13 Thread M. G. Devour
One of them takes...{dunno if I can mention the
 brand name here}...supplement products.

Hi Neville, all,

Hey, unless you sell the stuff, a recommendation of something that you
believe works well is always welcome.

If you do have a commercial interest in something you want to mention,
just drop me a line so I can vett the way it's being presented and give
you the go-ahead.

Be well,

CSArgyria risk...

2010-08-13 Thread M. G. Devour
Neville,

You write:

... I know two women who swear by EIS/CS...

They drag out an old battery unit, 250-300ml glass of rainwater, 3-5
minutes brewing {analysed at 40+ppm} drinking it straight down
immediately after brewing...issue 'terminated'. They *may* make and
take a second glass at the end of the day, to be sure, to be sure.

I met a couple, farmers, who took a daily glass of CS made using a
'pinch of salt' as 'starter' in a home made 3-nines generator, and did
this for several years. They learned about CS during the run-up to Y2K,
and followed exactly instructions that were widely disseminated on
survival-related sites back then.

Those of you who remember that period will recall that we were actively
trying to get the word out to people that the no-salt, lower
concentration approach to making CS was as effective and much safer.

Well, we were right. When I met these folks in '06, they were both
suffering from a cosmetically obvious case of argyria on their faces
and hands. She had a mask-like discoloration on the lower half of her
face, his was more uniform.

Given their occupation, one expects they both get a lot of sun. Other
issues, like local soil selenium content and dietary habits can also
affect excretion of metals, increasing the risk of argyria.

But the bottom line is, you might want to suggest to them, Neville,
that they should not use that kind of CS on a daily basis but only when
needed, just as you described that they do now, and be sure they have
an adequate amount of selenium and vitamin E in their diet or
supplement program.

Be well,

Mike D.

RE: CSFrom Generator to Bottle

2010-08-13 Thread M. G. Devour
Agree in general, though if you had to choose, wouldn't it be best to
use the plastic rather than the metal, Steve?

Mike D.

 Randy,

You can just leave your CS in your quart jar. No need for special amber
bottles. This assumes you have made it with 0.999 or better pure silver
electrodes, steam distilled water and no other additives. But if you
insist, either funnel material is fine. Just first give them a rinse
 with distilled water.

 Greetings,

I'm curious if I can transfer a batch of CS from my qt jar to the amber
bottles via a stainless steel funnel or a plastic funnel?

Would either of them carry any unwanted materials to the bottle?

Sorry if that's a novice question, but I want my CS to be as good as it
 can be.

Re: CSRe: Question please

2010-08-12 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi Melly,

Does colloidal silver kill parasites in the blood? How does one take
 it?   Thanks.   Melly

What kind of parasites are you thinking about in particular? Are you
seeing a doctor about the situation? What do they say?

Also, what kind of CS are you talking about? What source, how made?

If it's a commercial product, or made with a generator you bought,
you're best off following the manufacturer's directions.

There's not been much mainstream research done on the kind of CS we
usually talk about here. Most of what we have to go on is anecdotal
reports, and I don't remember much about parasites, generally, from
either source.

Let us know more and we'll see what other folks have to offer?

Be well!

Dose CS have any effect of skin ? I’ve had a strange (benign) rash,
starting a few years ago, on my upper arms then it progressed down each
side of the torso and a bit in the groin area. It sometimes is slightly
raised but right now it’s fairly feint. It’s usually more pronounced
 after a show. It doesn’t itch – it’s just there.I’ve consulted
dermatologists in the UK and USA without success. If I apply DMSO it
seems to expose a lot more rash in otherwise clear areas but doesn’t
 reduce it.

CS[List Owner] Topics...

2010-07-24 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

Just a reminder that, though I don't mind some off-topic stuff, that
I'd like OT threads to be deliberately tapered off in a day or so, so
they don't drag on and dominate the discussion.

A good current example of this, might have something to do with curry,
and beans, and pressure cookers... evil grin

As always, health-related questions are welcome, so long as the answers
that are related to things besides CS are handled more briefly, again,
tapering off when basic curiosity is satisfied and other resources have
been identified for further study.

*Wildly* OT stuff, should always go to the Off Topic List, of course.
grin

Carry on, and thank you all, so much, for taking responsibility for
policing your *own* behavior. That's why my job is as simple as it is,
most of the time.

Peace,

CSDebunking...

2010-07-21 Thread M. G. Devour
Dave writes, and quotes:
*This should give you an example of what I think of Prill beads.

One of the goofiest products I have come across are Prill
Beads which consist of magnesium oxide infused with Life
Force. These magical beads [... blah blah blah]

I'd just like to point out that if I'd not kept an open mind the
blatant idiocy of some vendors way back when would have kept me from
trying colloidal silver. It's better these days but you can still find
examples of similar nonsense out there.

Yes, the verbiage quoted by Dave is representative of too many sources
that spew that kind of anti-scientific junk targeted only at the
gullible. So saying, it doesn't prove anything about the product
either.

There are also user reports from non-vendors that claim benefits, so
the jury is still out on Prill Beads from what I can see.

All I ask is that everyone be careful with adopting the mindset of a
debunker toward the things shared on this list. There's no reason to
accept everything blindly, but temperate language and tolerance are
still in order.

Something about glass houses and stones comes to mind.

I take the Selenium because at one time
I took too much CS and started to tint my face.
My Wife blames it all on my CS but I could never understand
Why my head would get off color but not other parts of
Body such as arms and legs would not, could this have
something to do with my circulation.

It may have something to do with light exposure... You don't often

As I recall you were going out of your way to make a pretty high

RE: CSTesting pH?

2010-07-02 Thread M. G. Devour
Neville,

The chemical Harold is adding is not a buffer, but simply an
*indicator* that changes color over a range of pH. It's a similar thing
to the stuff that's soaked into litmus paper. It should *not* change
the pH of the sample, if it's properly designed and made.

Buffers, as you say, are designed to adjust the pH to a particular
value, and don't necessarily have anything to do with measuring the pH.
The only way I can think they might is by measuring the amount needed
to achieve that pH change you could possibly get some indication of the
composition of the acid or alkaline chemistry of the sample. That's
just a guess on my part, however. I don't have any experience with such
systems.

Be well,

Mike D.

This is why I asked if a buffer is *necessary*, I don't want to change
anything, and I don't want to 'neutralise' anything, I just want to take
 a measurement *as is*.

I'm content now, knowing that a buffer is not a requirement if simply
wanting to take a straight measurement of water or a solution.

Why do you add the reagent Harold?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but buffers are for the purpose of increasing
or decreasing acidity/alkalinity as a compensatory measure to create a
neutral pH are they not? I don't wish to alter or neutralise anything,
just get a reading of pH of the water/solution as it is from scratch.

I received two blank emails... this one and one with RE: EXTERNAL in
the subject line. I wouldn't think so, but could this have anything to
do with the recent list outage?

Shouldn't have anything to do with that, Ruth!

If not, what gives? Anyone know?

Looking at the source code of Steve's message, the following headers
describe how it's formatted...

Content-Type: text/plain;
charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
x-cr-puzzleid: {B8FECC94-E7E2-4C14-8043-E46BE669AF9B}
x-cr-hashedpuzzle: [a bunch of gobbledygook, snipped!]
Content-class: urn:content-classes:message

The actual body of the text was not readable as plain text, but was a
huge block of seemingly random characters. That is at least because of
the 'base64' encoding, but also the UTF-8 and whatever this
hashedpuzzle stuff is are probably adding to the mess... So your mail
program (Outlook Express) is being confused by the elaborate formatting
of Steve's message, I'm afraid.

Now, I'd typically blame Outlook for being not particularly good at
following standards, thanks to Microsoft's bloated ego... but I do
wonder what all that extra encoding is for, Steve?

CSList Outage... progress?

2010-06-28 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

Not to get anyone's hopes up too high, but about 20 minutes past noon
Eastern time my mail client, which was polling the servers every few
minutes, tossed an error that usually indicates the server has
disappeared. This would be just about right for the main support person
to arrive (or log in remotely) at 9am their time, discover the outage
and send a reset command to the relevant servers.

Since then, messages have been trickling in a few at a time as the
upstream backlog starts to clear.

Oops! The first list message just came in, from Dee, and is dated the
26th... so that's a good sign.

Y'all will see things develop as I do.

Here's hoping and keep your fingers crossed.

CSMagnesium deficiency...

2010-06-28 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

The long-timers know that I have been battling with the consequences of
mercury toxicity after having a dozen amalgam fillings placed in my
mouth over a period of 30 years, and then removed in June of 2006.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was following three separate oral
supplement protocols for iodine, digestive support, and a series of
herbal and non-pharmaceutical antifungals to fight yeast overgrowth,
plus a smattering of other supplements.

It was a LOT of pills to take every day, all day, and of the three
protocols, the antifungals were showing the least results -- as in
none. So, I basically stopped everything except the digestive
supplement while I reassess and decide what to do next.

Well, in the process I discovered what a bad magnesium deficiency feels
like!

Over a week ago, I started to get a sore right shoulder, right about on
the top front area of the rotator cuff. It got gradually worse each
day, until it became quite painful to raise my arm even to shoulder
height. Over the last day or two, it worsened, spreading down my arm to
the elbow and even the wrist.

By last night the pain and soreness was constant and I barely slept. I
couldn't find a comfortable position for my arm and shoulder no matter
how I tried.

My other arm had also started to exhibit the beginning signs of the
same thing, and one of my knees even started to give me twinges as
well! Time to do something!

Just a few weeks ago I'd suggested my wife start taking magnesium for
her sore shoulder, elbow (bell ringing injury!) and plantar fasciitis,
based on things I'd read here on the list about it's benefits for
connective tissue health. This continues the longstanding tradition of
people here bringing up useful subjects just when I seem to need to
hear about them! salutes

So this morning I dig out her bottle of Magnesium Citrate and the
carton of Emergen-C! After six capsules of the former and eight packets
of the latter, spread throughout the day, and definitely hitting the
bowel tolerance level already, I am pleased to report that my pain this
evening is much reduced.

I should be able to sleep much better tonight.

There are other supplements I need to start or restart, which I'm still
evaluating, but it's obvious that magnesium is on the short list. I'll
probably mix up some more magnesium oil (saturated solution of
magnesium chloride in water) and get back into using that for
transdermal absorption as well.

So, thanks for last month's discussion of magnesium, folks!

Be well,

Mike D.

Re: CSliposomes ultrasonic cleaners

2010-06-23 Thread M. G. Devour
I think some clarification might help, polo.

Are you saying the US cleaner cycles between low amplitude and high
amplitude, or switches between two different oscillator frequencies?
The switching, whatever it is, you imply takes place at the 60 hz line
frequency, which would certainly simplify circuit design.

Your use of the word 'phase' was just to refer to the two states the
drivers switch between, right?

Sometimes you have to read a little deeper between the lines, Marshall.
grin

Mike D.

Ok, thanks for that info, but nevertheless, this tidbit does not change
the fact that ultrasonic cleaners are designed to have a low and high
phase. How can a liposome be immune from rupture, by the tough
phospholipids membrane when compared to the ordinary bubble??

 doug

 - Original Message -
50/60 Hz is the line frequency the unit is specified to work with,
what comes in the power cord. That is on the low end of the audio
spectrum, not the high. Cleaners typically run between 20 and 30 KHz,
which is above the range of hearing. The movement is basically
sinusoidal, thus the amount of time above the baseline is equal to the
amount under the baseline. The word phase in such a situation would
refer to the difference in the angle between two waves and does not
apply to these cleaners at all.

CSQuestions about Brooks, Liposomal Vitamin C

2010-06-23 Thread M. G. Devour
Alan Jones wrote:
I'm curious, Brooks is doing all of this research, surely he
must publish or document it somehow somewhere?  If not, what's the
 point?

Dan Nave replies:
Beats me. I asked once and got no reply.

As far as I know, the silver list archives are the only record.

Obviously, Brooks will speak for himself if he is available and able,
but in the interim, I'll try to give you some perspective on his
reports of findings of various research efforts, including Liposomal
Encapsulation Technology for low-end producers and users.

Brooks is a principal in a non-profit, private organization called the
Harborne Research Foundation... If I recall correctly, their major area
of specialization is in environmental remediation technologies and
various aspects of animal welfare and habitat. You won't find much
about them on the Internet because they decided at one point back in
the '90's that they didn't require or desire all that much publicity
and actually eliminated their even then modest web presence.

Along the way, members of his organization have frequently engaged in
side projects involving alternative approaches to medical and health
challenges that were of personal or professional interest to various
individuals. These are not the primary focus of their research, and the
foundation has never engaged in giving medical advice in any form. The
results were not formally published, but often represented quite useful
information.

As Dan suggests, I believe the Silver List is one of very few places
where Brooks (or anyone else) ever shared these findings.

Within the last several years, Brooks has grieved the passing of his
close associate and friend, Mr. Harborne, and he and his wife have
endured the total loss of their home, with nearly all of their records,
in a tragic fire.

Despite unusually robust health for a man of his age, he is becoming
quite advanced in years and, necessarily, his stamina and capacity for
dealing with correspondence are both waning.

So saying, I would look upon Brooks' track record for sharing valuable
and important results based on his and his associates researches and
assume on that basis that his recommendations regarding lipospheric
encapsulation methods for do-it-yourselfers offer a very good clue as
to worthwhile future research directions.

Unless he is forthcoming with further information, however, I suspect
that it will fall to other individuals to advance this work, based on
the trail blazed by Brooks and his associates.

I hope that presents a fairly accurate assessment that will enable all
concerned to adjust their expectations accordingly.

I don't speak for Brooks, but am only reporting what I know from my
recollection of his writings and superficial review of the list
archives.

Be well!

I think this is ridiculous. To be a sceptic means to question things,
not to dismiss things out of hand. I question things--which means
everything I'm told, and then if it turns out to be true or correct,
then I will take it on board. This is the opposite of blindly following
what you are told and this includes everything from health, doctors,
scientist, religions, everything! How can this be a bad thing? dee

Re: CSMagnesium Oxide Prill Beads - 20 June

2010-06-21 Thread M. G. Devour
Jason, Bodhi,

Jason, meet Bodhi. Bodhi, this is Jason.

I'd like to encourage both of you to take the time to explore either on
the OT list or privately, the common ground between you as well as the
areas in which you might differ. Both of you might be unaware that the
other has considerable experience and thought behind their positions.

Jason, I suspect Bodhi's somewhat hyperbolic treatment of the word
'skepticism' is in reaction to the kind of close orderly examination
that meets all of alternative health and other enlightened thinking
when it encounters mainstream resistance. He's had more experience with
that sort of thing than most people, I suspect.

Bodhi, you might not want to let your brush sweep so widely. I'm a
skeptic, you're a skeptic, Jason's a skeptic... You demonstrate it by
your stubborn examination of things and lengthy testing periods.
Skepticism *is* healthy -- *when* it's healthy.

If by 'skepticism' you mean closed-minded refusal to address any
questioning of established dogma and rejection of all evidence that
cannot be explained in conventional terms, then of course you're right.
But such a corruption of language is just that, and distorts efforts at
intelligent communication.

I wish you peace, my friends.

Mike D.

Jason writes:
 ...wow, what great science.

Actually, the word skepticism is a very revealing word with an
 interesting history and word origin...

Thus, the word skepticism literally can be translated to mean: To
examine closely in an orderly manner.

Nice word that. In my experience, 9-10 People who don't like the word
skepticism or skeptics usually don't because the things they say fall
 apart quickly under close examination.

In response to the following comment (and follow-on) by Bodhi:
Open questioning is healthy, skepticism is another 'ism' and is
 therefore, harmful.

CS[List Owner] Topic to end...

2010-06-21 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

Let's please end or migrate to OT the debate over the dictionary
definition of skepticism and the philosophical ramifications thereof.

Consider this a decree from the throne that, We shall agree to
disagree.

Bodhi, while demonstrating certain attributes others of us consider the
very definition of healthy skepticism, chooses not to acknowledge the
distinction between that and closed-mindedness masquerading as
skepticism (as most of us define it).

Oh well!

Let's not waste any more energy on non-essentials...

I would caution folks that before you condemn things other people bring
up, that you think about how the colloidal silver we all profess to
value is just as vulnerable to condemnation by those very same pseudo-
skeptics that Bodhi rails too loudly against.

Equally important, let's not spend an unhealthy amount of time on the
main list talking about things that are too hard for average people to
swallow. Those souls, too, deserve a chance to grow into greater
knowledge at their own pace.

One step at a time, people. Colloidal Silver is the first step for
many.

And, as always, if anybody listening in is waiting for information on
Colloidal Silver to show up, give us a hint what you're interested in!
Ask a question to start the conversation in a direction that's useful
to you. That's how it works.

Thank you.

Re: CSMagnesium Oxide Prills

2010-06-20 Thread M. G. Devour
Dear Nancy,

question here on specifics of mixing and using the Prill Beads. My
Prills arrived from Blind Buda yesterday.

Wasn't that Blind Guru? grin

I placed about 4 oz. of beads in a mesh bag, rinsed them

Was there as much rinsing needed for yours as for mine? LOTS of rinsing
before I got all the powder out of them. Still, once done, it's done.

and started them soaking in a gallon of good filtered water.  After the
24 hour soak is finished. I pour app 3/4 of the water into a glass jar,
refill the container with the 1/4  amount in it to recharge and drink
the 3/4 amount  and keep perpetuating the water this way. Do I leave
the Prill Beads in the  bottle with 1/4 left in it?

Yes, then refill it so the next batch starts to process while you use
the previous one.

Any other details I should know?

It tastes good? Seems to do no harm after a couple of weeks using it.

I've found my appetite and cravings a little better controlled. I'm
more prone to go for a glass of water than to graze the fridge and
pantry for a snack.

Let us know if you experience anything interesting.

Peace,

Mike

I don't filter messages before they go out, so when a new person joins,
it may take a while to help them learn the ropes. In Bodhisattva's

give correction to, so I am generally satisfied with the suitability of
his participation.

As for the nature of his beliefs, though I admit they're more than a
bit out there by most people's standards, there seems to be enough
value to his input to consider it part of the spectrum of opinion.

Especially on the main list, I expect all of our members with more far

2010-06-09 Thread M. G. Devour
G'mornin' gang o' Silverites!

Dick and Paula each have given us their take on trying to pry silver-
related information from the group. Thanks to you both.

Dick, I'm sorry things are noisier and apparently less responsive than
is desirable for you. I, too, remembered your post getting at least one
answer, I thought two, so in the auto-pilot driven process I use to
scan list traffic most days, I did not register your post as unanswered
or set out to do anything about it.

Not always but usually, I try to notice whether people, particularly
newbies, get any answers, and prod things along after a day or two if
they don't. As rarely as I actually end up doing that, either folks are
being very efficient at answering them or I'm missing a lot more than
I'm aware of.

The answer is pretty much as Paula has done -- ask again! Thanks,
ma'am, for the kind words. Yes, Ken is very helpful. We appreciate
having him around. grin You seem to be doing very well. Your
questions indicate that you're learning fast. Keep asking. We don't
mind repetition, especially for the benefit of newer members.

As for topics, when nobody has questions about CS, and the regulars are
doing okay for themselves and nothing particularly unusual is happening
in their lives, it isn't unusual for the main topic to get drowned out
by the noise.

I deliberately allow non-CS-related questions to be asked and answered
for the simple reason that they will be anyway, and any attempt to stop
them would be futile as well as oppressive. In addition, so much
valuable information gets passed around that the help-value of the
group is multiplied -- so long as those OT discussions are kept more
brief than the on-topic ones, as I ask that they be.

The analogy of the shop being open and the staff in back at tea is
pretty apt. Please ring the bell! We might even invite you back for a
cuppa and biscuit, and show you how everything works, if you're
interested.

One of Dick's comments makes a great point. While for most of us making
and using CS has become routine, occasionally reporting a current or
recent use story would be a worthy contribution to the group. Just
because success has become the norm for you, it doesn't mean others
won't benefit from hearing about it. Just a suggestion...

I understand that the balance we strike will always be imperfect, at
best, and sometimes strays mightily in the direction of noise and
clutter. I'll always consider your input if you think things are going
too far astray or needs are not being met. Let me know, please.

Be well,

CS[List Owner] Tone of voice

2010-06-09 Thread M. G. Devour
 Ok, you are right:)

Now that Craig and Bodhi seem to have reached a meeting of the...
minds? ... sigh

Always remember how harsh this all-text medium is. Shout your written
words in a nasty voice and you'll get an idea how they come accross to
others.

Bodhi, first you needed to know that one of the bugs in the current
list configuration is that HTML encoded messages conceal the list
footer from people viewing the message, no matter the settings of their
mail software, unless they are viewing the message source. Thus only
plain text messages display a visible footer, and those make up only a
large fraction of list traffic.

That may have tipped you off to the need to offer a little hand-holding
with your too-brief but seemingly sensible instructions. While Craig
*was* being all those things you listed, at least a little bit, your
message to Joanne/Floyd came across as a bit critical, seeming to
assume they had ignored the plainly visible information normally in the
footer and should have done better... Perhaps not your intent, but
indeed your effective *tone*, to which Craig responded.

So it's always fairly safe to temper our answers to *any* question with
a little extra measure of loving care in this environment, no matter
how it was phrased. Not only does a plain-text medium amplify every
concievable edge of sharpness or rudeness in our words, the list
software sucks. g

In any case, it never hurts to assume that the person asking really
*does* need the answer, and deserves all care and consideration until
their continued behavior proves otherwise.

Sorry for setting a trap like that. Let's do what we can to avoid
falling into it in the future, please.

Oh, and Joanne/Floyd, if you're still reading, I'm about to process
your unsubscription request. You should be okay.

Be well,

CS[List Owner] Another e-mail outage

2010-06-05 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

Mail services at eskimo died for another multi-hour period last night
and today. I don't believe messages that were sent were lost, but if
you can confirm that some were, please let me know (off-list, please).

I've contacted the owner of the place to get some idea what's going on
and if and when things are going to improve.

I'll letcha all know of anything newsworthy.

Thank you for your patience.
