This completely depends on the platform and feature set. For instance,
12.0(9) IP for a 3640 would fit into 4 MB flash and require 24 MB RAM, while
Enterprise Plus needs 8MB flash and 32 MB DRAM.

here in our network where we had missing CDP neighbors. Our entire network
is point-to-point frame relay using subinterfaces. Take the following
layout:
RouterA <---> RouterB <---> RouterC
RouterB has a single interface

why not a 3640? I've got BGP running on a 3640 and the router barely knows
that it's turned on most of the time. The processor usage is very low and
I've had zero problems so far. I do have 128 MB of DRAM, though. That is
necessary.

the workings of the protocol very well while also detailing how to configure
it on Cisco equipment.
